A variety of fixes and improvements to the Cmd+K AI completions endpoint
in the [SQL Editor](https://supabase.com/dashboard/project/_/sql/new):
- Pre-load table definitions for the public schema and any other schemas
referenced in the editor, so the model has real column names without
needing to fetch them dynamically
- Replace the generic tool suite with a single streamlined
`getSchemaDefinitions` tool the model can still call to look up
additional schemas on demand without behavior differences across
platform & self-hosted
- Swap generic chat system prompt for a purpose-built
`COMPLETION_PROMPT`; fix role (`assistant` → `user`) for consistency
with other endpoints
- Validate and type the request body with `zod`, which was previously
untyped (`any`)
- Improve Cmd+K behavior when nothing is selected — use the full editor
content as context, return the complete query rather than just the
changed fragment, and switch to a generation mode when the editor is
blank
- Escape single quotes in schema names when fetching entity definitions
in `pg-meta` to prevent schema names from breaking out of the SQL string
and injecting arbitrary content into the prompt
## Before
Before, the SQL Editor would often hallucinate tables / columns that
don't exist in the user's database making it less helpful if you don't
know the exact table/column names. Even with maximum Assistant opt-in
level on the org, it would often fail to call the necessary tools to
gather database context.
<img width="5062" height="1522" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/fbe1130f-6b5a-41a8-99d7-7268880af188"

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/a31c2967-7751-4fce-a9b7-60bd77660b1a"
/>
Sometimes it also silently fails and generates empty queries:
<img width="1352" height="398" alt="CleanShot 2026-04-09 at 17 46 06@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e17c103a-d47d-47e6-8c2e-101f0fae5651"
/>
Or echos back the user's prompt:
<img width="1368" height="282" alt="CleanShot 2026-04-09 at 23 04 56@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7dff6e64-f54e-45b5-8e86-5399e5a2fe41"
/>
## After
In this example, the completion correctly interpreted my request for
"completed" todos as a query on the `completed_foo` column in my
`public` schema, instead of assuming existence of a `completed` column.
<img width="1452" height="838" alt="CleanShot 2026-04-09 at 17 43 13@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7a575589-78b4-448d-810a-0330ff08ef8b"
/>
In this example, the completion was correctly aware of an `other` schema
because it was detected in my existing query. I didn't have to select
the text, it included the full query in context when unselected. Notice
how it correctly used the `is_done` column when I asked for "completed"
cakes:

Supersedes #44151
Closes AI-544
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.
YES
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
Bug fix.
## What is the current behavior?
Advisor dismissals use `useLocalStorageQuery`. When advisor signals
pruning ran, it sometimes invoked `setDismissedKeys` even when nothing
needed to change (no-op updater returning the same array reference).
Separately, `useLocalStorageQuery` would still persist +
`invalidateQueries` even when the computed next value was
reference-equal to the current cached value.
When `useAdvisorSignals` is mounted in two places at once
(`AdvisorSection` + `AdvisorPanel`), those redundant invalidations /
subscriber churn could occasionally cascade into React’s “Maximum update
depth exceeded” error (often surfaced via Radix `composeRefs` in stack
traces). CI saw this as an unhandled error during
`AdvisorSignals.integration.test.tsx`.
## What is the new behavior?
- `useLocalStorageQuery` now **early-returns** when `Object.is(next,
current)` so no-op updates don’t write localStorage or invalidate the
query.
- `useAdvisorSignals` pruning effect now **short-circuits** unless there
is actually a stale banned-IP dismissal to remove.
## Additional context
Follow-up from #44372 (advisor signal items for banned IPs).
Tests run locally:
- `pnpm --filter studio exec vitest run
components/ui/AdvisorPanel/useAdvisorSignals.test.tsx
components/ui/AdvisorPanel/AdvisorSignals.integration.test.tsx
hooks/misc/__tests__/useLocalStorageQuery.test.ts`

## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **Bug Fixes**
* Enhanced handling of dismissed security alerts by preventing
unnecessary state updates for stale dismissals, significantly reducing
overhead and improving overall application performance.
* Optimized local storage operations to skip redundant writes to storage
and prevent triggering unnecessary cache updates and query invalidations
when stored data values remain unchanged from the previous operation.

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
Feature. Resolves DEPR-430.
## What is the current behaviour?
The homepage Advisor summary, shared Advisor panel, and top-nav Advisor
indicator only surface lints and notifications. Banned IPs are not
represented as dismissible Advisor items, so network bans are easy to
miss unless a user visits Database Settings directly.
The `public bucket allows listing` warning is no longer part of this PR.
That warning will move to a follow-up Splinter `WARN` lint so it can
flow through the standard lint surfaces instead of a bespoke Studio
signal path.
## What is the new behaviour?
- adds a new Advisor `signal` source for banned IPs on the platform
homepage, in the shared Advisor panel, and in the top-nav Advisor
indicator
- keeps dismissals client-side only for now, scoped by project and exact
IP fingerprint
- keeps banned IP signals at `warning` severity because they still
indicate suspicious traffic and remain actionable if a user wants to
review or remove a ban
- leaves `/project/[ref]/advisors/security` as follow-up work because
that surface is still lint-native, and banned IPs are management-plane
signals rather than Splinter lints

## Reviewer testing notes
1. Use a throwaway project.
2. Get the database connection string for that project.
3. Attempt to connect with the wrong password 3-4 times until you hit an
`ECONNREFUSED`-style error, which should mean your IP has been banned.
4. Refresh Studio and confirm the project overview shows the new `Banned
IP address` signal.
5. Open the Advisor Center and confirm:
- the top-nav Advisor dot turns warning yellow
- the signal detail shows `Entity`, `Issue`, and `Resolve`
- `Edit network bans`, `Dismiss`, and `Learn more` are present
6. Open Database Settings > Network bans and confirm your banned IP
appears there and can be unbanned.
7. Note that `/project/[ref]/advisors/security` will not show this item.
That page is still lint-only, and this banned IP work is a short-term
client-side signal rather than a true lint.
Longer term, we likely want a more durable event model here so banned
IPs can power notifications, webhooks, emails, and other project-level
alerts.

## Summary
- Adds a new "Copy as CSV" action to the export dropdown in the SQL
editor results panel, alongside the existing Copy as Markdown, Copy as
JSON, and Download CSV options
- Registers a `Shift+Cmd+C` keyboard shortcut for the action, with a
toggle in Account > Preferences > Keyboard shortcuts
- Works everywhere `DownloadResultsButton` is used: SQL editor, logs,
query performance, and linter pages
Fixes FE-2991
## Test plan
- [x] Run a SELECT query in the SQL editor, open the Export dropdown,
and verify "Copy as CSV" appears between "Copy as JSON" and "Download
CSV"
- [x] Click "Copy as CSV" and verify CSV data is copied to clipboard
- [x] Use `Shift+Cmd+C` shortcut and verify it copies CSV to clipboard
- [x] Go to Account > Preferences > Keyboard shortcuts and verify the
"Copy results as CSV" toggle is present and functional
- [x] Disable the shortcut in preferences, verify `Shift+Cmd+C` no
longer triggers the copy
- [x] Verify the same option appears in the logs export dropdown
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai

## Problem
The `ResourceExhaustionWarningBanner` routed disk IO, CPU, and
memory/swap exhaustion warnings to `/settings/infrastructure#<metric>` —
an infra chart page with no direct fix available. The action button
label "Learn more" didn't reflect a clear next step, and there was no
way to get AI-assisted query optimization from the banner.
## Changes
**Routing & CTAs**
- Compute warnings (`disk_io`, `cpu`, `ram`) now route to
`/settings/compute-and-disk` instead of the infra chart page
- Free plan users are routed to
`/org/[slug]/billing?panel=subscriptionPlan&source=resource_exhaustion_banner`
- Primary CTA text changed to "Upgrade compute" for all compute warnings
(paid and free plan)
- Read-only mode CTA changed from "Learn more" to "Manage disk"
**Troubleshoot dropdown**
- For compute warnings (which have both a docs URL and an AI prompt), a
"Troubleshoot" dropdown replaces the standalone "Learn more" button,
offering:
- Documentation — links to the relevant troubleshooting guide
- Ask AI Assistant — opens the AI assistant with a pre-filled query to
identify expensive queries via `pg_stat_statements`
- For warnings with only a docs URL (read-only mode, disk space, auth),
a direct "Learn more" button is shown as before
**Telemetry**
Two new events track user interactions with the banner:
| Event | Fires when | Properties |
|---|---|---|
| `resource_exhaustion_banner_upgrade_clicked` | User clicks the primary
CTA | `warningTypes: string[]`, `isFreePlan: boolean`, `destination:
string` |
| `resource_exhaustion_banner_ai_assistant_clicked` | User clicks "Ask
AI Assistant" | `warningTypes: string[]`, `isFreePlan: boolean` |
Both events include the standard `groups` payload (project + org).
**Suppression fixes**
- Banner is now hidden on `/settings/compute-and-disk` for paid-plan
compute warnings (CTA would be a no-op)
- Banner stays visible on `/settings/infrastructure` for compute
warnings (CTA now links to a different page)
**Description text**
- Removed stale "Check the usage page for more recent and detailed
statistics" from compute warning descriptions — no button in the banner
leads there
- Updated `multiple_resource_warnings` descriptions to reflect the
upgrade-focused CTAs
**Bug fixes**
- Fixed: auth rate limit critical banner was showing when warning
content had no title/description
- Fixed: CTA disabled state now only applies to compute warnings while
org data is loading (not all warning types)
## How to test
- Trigger or mock a `disk_io_exhaustion`, `cpu_exhaustion`, or
`memory_and_swap_exhaustion` warning
- Paid plan: CTA reads "Upgrade compute" →
`/project/<ref>/settings/compute-and-disk`
- Free plan: CTA reads "Upgrade compute" →
`/org/<slug>/billing?panel=subscriptionPlan&source=resource_exhaustion_banner`
- Troubleshoot dropdown appears with Documentation and Ask AI Assistant
options
- Verify `is_readonly_mode_enabled` shows "Manage disk" CTA and a direct
"Learn more" button (no dropdown)
- Verify `disk_space_exhaustion` and auth warnings show a direct "Learn
more" button (no dropdown)
- Verify the banner is hidden on `/settings/compute-and-disk` for
paid-plan compute warnings
- Verify the banner is still visible on `/settings/infrastructure` for
compute warnings
- Verify `resource_exhaustion_banner_upgrade_clicked` and
`resource_exhaustion_banner_ai_assistant_clicked` events fire with the
correct properties

## Problem
There was no way to trigger resource warning banners in the dev toolbar,
making it hard to test different warning states (warn/critical,
read-only mode) without manually mocking API responses or waiting for
real exhaustion events.
## Fix
- Adds an ExtraTab extension point to DevToolbar so Studio can inject
custom tabs without coupling the package to app-specific hooks
- Adds a ResourceWarningsTab in Studio with per-type off/warn/crit
toggles for disk IO, CPU, memory, disk space, and auth rate limit
warnings, plus a read-only mode toggle
- Auth rate limit only exposes warn (no crit) since critical is not a
valid API return value
- The tab component is dynamically imported so it stays out of
production bundles, controlled by the same NEXT_PUBLIC_ENVIRONMENT guard
used by the toolbar
## How to test
1. Run Studio locally or open a Vercel preview deployment
2. Open the browser console and run window.devTelemetry() to enable the
toolbar
3. Click the toolbar trigger to open the panel
4. Switch to the "Warnings" tab
5. Toggle any warning type to "Warn" or "Crit" and confirm the banner
appears at the top of the page
6. Toggle read-only mode on and confirm the read-only banner appears
7. Click "Reset to real data" and confirm banners return to their actual
state
8. Confirm the Auth Rate Limit row only has Off and Warn buttons (no
Crit)
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **New Features**
* New "Warnings" tab in the developer toolbar (enabled in local and
staging) for managing resource warning banners.
* Per-resource severity overrides (Off / Warning / Critical) with
immediate preview in the toolbar.
* Local "read-only" toggle to simulate read-only mode.
* "Reset to real data" clears overrides, disables the local toggle, and
refreshes server state.
* Tab loads lazily and shows a disabled/loading state if org/project
context is unavailable.

Switch studio's package.json to `"type": "module"` so the package runs
as native ESM. This aligns the runtime module system with what we
actually write (`import`/`export`), improves tree-shaking, and reduces
friction with ESM-only dependencies.
**Changed:**
- `next.config.js` → `next.config.ts` – ESM imports/exports, proper TS
types, fixed type narrowing on redirect `has` and `basePath` fields
- `csp.js` → `csp.ts` – `module.exports.getCSP` → named `export
function`
- `tailwind.config.js` → `tailwind.config.ts` – ESM imports
- `postcss.config.js` – `module.exports` → `export default` (stays `.js`
since PostCSS doesn't support TS configs)
**Removed:**
- Unused `path` import in next config
- Deprecated Sentry `hideSourceMaps` option (default behavior in Sentry
v10)
**Added:**
- Type declaration for `config/tailwind.config` CJS package
## To test
- A general smoke test of studio should suffice
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai

## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **Refactor**
* Modernized the Studio package to ES module style and improved
TypeScript typings and config declarations to reduce build/runtime
issues.
* Updated styling and post-processing configuration format for more
consistent tooling behavior.
* **Chores**
* Updated code ownership entries to reflect migrated/renamed
configuration files.

## Summary
- Reset the table rows query after the user confirms loading data on a
high-cost table, so React Query re-executes the fetch without the
preflight check
- Close the confirmation dialog after the user clicks "I understand,
proceed"
**Root cause:** `preflightCheck` is intentionally excluded from the
React Query query key (to avoid duplicate cache entries). When the user
clicked "Load data", the preflight flag flipped to `false` but the query
key stayed the same — so React Query returned the cached error instead
of refetching.
## Test plan
- [x] Navigate to a table with high estimated query cost (triggers "Data
not loaded to protect database performance")
- [x] Click "Load data" → "I understand, proceed"
- [x] Verify the dialog closes and table data loads
- [x] Verify the warning does not reappear for the same table in the
same session
To test this you can run this locally with COST_THRESHOLD set to a low
value (< 10)
Fixes FE-2979
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **Bug Fixes**
* Confirming the high-cost warning now closes the dialog and proceeds
with loading as expected.
* Improved query cache key composition so queries reflect the full set
of relevant parameters for correct caching.
* Loading from the grid error now properly clears related cached results
and proceeds when the user confirms.

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
Chore / UI consistency fix. Resolves DEPR-418.
## What is the current behavior?
Shortcut hints are still hand-built in several high-traffic Studio
surfaces, which leads to inconsistent rendering and stale
platform-specific markup. Buttons in particular can end up with awkward
spacing and baseline alignment when shortcut labels are inserted
directly into the button text.
## What is the new behavior?
This PR standardises those shortcut hints around `KeyboardShortcut` and
updates the surrounding layout primitives to support that approach more
cleanly.
It includes:
- Design docs
- using `KeyboardShortcut` in the table side-panel `ActionBar`
- replacing hardcoded operation queue button shortcuts in
`OperationQueueSidePanel`
- standardising the command menu trigger shortcut chip and updating the
`LayoutHeader` overrides to match the new DOM shape
- replacing the AI editor empty-state `Cmd/Ctrl + K` hint with
`KeyboardShortcut`
- refining shared shortcut/button primitives so inline shortcuts align
better when used as button accessories
- keeping the SQL utility shortcut work on this branch consistent with
the same shared component approach

## Later todo
- [ ] Replace the string-based SQL editor placeholder shortcut in

- [ ] Refactor `CommandOption` to use `KeyboardShortcut` instead of
bespoke platform detection and command-key markup
- [ ] Standardise the remaining DataTable shortcut hints

## Problem
The Report Blocks section (custom dashboards) has four visual and UX
bugs: tooltip content overflows its container, Y-axis labels with 5+
digits get clipped (e.g. `10000` renders as `0000`), action buttons
become unreachable when a block title is long, and scrolling inside a
scrollable block also scrolls the parent page.
## Fix
- Remove the fixed `w-[200px]` class from `ChartTooltipContent` in
`ChartBlock` so tooltips auto-size to their content instead of
overflowing.
- Compute a dynamic Y-axis width in `ChartBlock` based on the string
length of the maximum data value, replacing the `undefined` default that
caused clipping.
- Add `min-w-0` to the label container and `shrink-0` to the actions
container in `ReportBlockContainer` so the truncation works correctly
and action buttons are never pushed off-screen.
- Add `overscroll-contain` to the scrollable SQL code and results table
divs in `QueryBlock` to stop scroll events from propagating to the page.
## How to test
- Navigate to a custom Report with multiple blocks
- Hover over a chart bar on a block with a long metric name. The tooltip
should be fully visible with no text overflow.
- Find or create a block whose Y-axis values exceed 9999 (e.g. disk
IOPS). The full number should appear on the Y-axis without any leading
digits being clipped.
- Use a block on a read replica so the label appends "of replica",
making it long. The chart-type toggle, log scale toggle, and remove
buttons should all remain visible and clickable.
- Add a SQL snippet block that returns a large table of results. Scroll
within the results table. The page should not scroll while the inner
table is scrolling.

fixed widths).
* Tighter report header layout so labels truncate predictably and
actions keep their size.
* Added overscroll containment to query results and SQL view to reduce
unwanted scrolling.

- Replaced per-cell `ContextMenu_Shadcn_` in SQL result tables with a
single shared instance
- Each Radix ContextMenu registers a `keydown` listener on `document`
via `useEffect`. With 1000+ row result sets, this created thousands of
document-level listeners. Chrome trace showed listeners growing from 21k
to 347k, with every keystroke taking ~250ms (70k+ function calls per
long task)
- Fixed DataGrid not rendering in Firefox by using flex layout instead
of `height: 100%` for sizing
- Fixed double scrollbar in QueryBlock results by making the container a
flex column and removing `overflow-auto`
- Moved format utils into `Results.utils.ts`
## Test plan
The `Results` component and `QueryBlock` are used in several places.
Each should be verified:
- [x] **AI Assistant** — Have the assistant run a query returning 1000+
rows. Verify the page stays responsive while typing and there is only a
single scrollbar on the results table
- [x] **AI Assistant (Firefox)** — Same as above but in Firefox. Verify
the results table actually renders
- [x] **SQL Editor results panel** — Run a query in the SQL Editor.
Verify results render correctly with a single scrollbar in the utility
panel
- [x] **SQL Editor explain tab** — Run an EXPLAIN query. Verify explain
results render
- [x] **Editor Panel** (used in Table Editor SQL preview) — Verify
results display correctly
- [x] **Context menu** — Right-click a cell in any of the above and
verify "Copy cell content" and "View cell content" still work

## Summary
The `compute_badge_upgrade_clicked` event had zero fires since Apr 1
because the PostHog tracking call was never wired up on the "Upgrade
compute" button in the compute badge hover card. This adds the missing
`useTrack` call using the existing event definition in
`telemetry-constants.ts`.
## Changes
- Add `useTrack` hook and `onClick` handler to the upgrade button in
`ComputeBadgeWrapper.tsx`
- Fires `compute_badge_upgrade_clicked` with `computeSize`, `planId`,
and `upgradeType` properties
- Preserves existing `asChild` + `<Link>` navigation pattern
## Testing
Tested on Vercel preview:
- [x] Hover compute badge on a project with non-max compute, click
"Upgrade compute", verify `compute_badge_upgrade_clicked` event appears
in PostHog live events with correct properties
- [x] Verify navigation to compute settings page still works
(client-side, no full reload)
- [x] Test with paid-plan nano project: `upgradeType` should be
`free_micro_upgrade`
- [x] Test with paid-plan non-nano project: `upgradeType` should be
`compute_upgrade`
## Linear
- fixes GROWTH-751
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai

## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **Chores**
* Added analytics tracking for compute upgrade button clicks to record
upgrade type (free micro vs. paid), selected compute size (with
fallback), and plan identifier. This ensures upgrade interactions are
captured for product insights without changing visible UI behavior.

Moves knowledge (RLS, Edge Functions, PostgreSQL best practices,
Realtime) out of the static system prompt and into a `load_knowledge`
tool the model calls on demand, reducing prompt bloat. This is a
temporary stopgap until the [standard Supabase
agent-skills](https://github.com/supabase/agent-skills) are ready for
integration in Assistant.
- New always-available `load_knowledge` tool added to
`rendering-tools.ts`
- Updated `Message.Parts.tsx` so the "Ran load_knowledge" chip renders
in chat
- System prompt replaces the four knowledge blobs with an `## Available
Knowledge` block and is hardened to load knowledge for given topics
- New "Knowledge Usage" scorer and `requiredKnowledge` assertions check
that knowledge loads as expected in test scenarios
- Filters GraphQL error responses out of `output.docs` before
faithfulness scoring to reduce noise

## Summary
- Fix `ToggleLegacyApiKeysPanel` being permanently hidden for users with
project-level admin access but no org-level access
- The `useAuthorizedAppsQuery` calls an org-level endpoint
(`/platform/organizations/{slug}/oauth/apps`) which returns 403 for
project-only admins, causing `isAuthorizedAppsSuccess` to never become
`true` and
the entire panel to never render
- When the authorized apps query fails, show a fallback warning
directing users to verify their org's OAuth apps before disabling legacy
keys
## What changed
- Removed `isAuthorizedAppsSuccess` from the rendering guard, the panel
now renders once legacy keys status and permissions resolve
- When the authorized apps query errors (e.g. 403), the button still
opens a warning dialog with appropriate copy before proceeding to the
confirmation modal
## Behavior
| User type | Authorized apps query | Button click |
|---|---|---|
| Org-level access, has apps | Success, apps > 0 | Warning → confirm
modal |
| Org-level access, no apps | Success, apps = 0 | Confirm modal directly
|
| Project-only admin | 403 error | Fallback warning → confirm modal |

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
This PR introduces some visual indicators when a Nano project is
exhausting resources on Pro plus plans. The indicator tells the user a
free upgrade to Micro is available via a flashing Nano badge that guides
them to Upgrade and a global banner that notifies them resources are
near exhaustion, please upgrade for free.

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
Component update.
## What is the current behaviour?
TanStack tables in the repo are split between the shared `TableHeadSort`
primitive and the older Studio-local `DataTableColumnHeader` helper,
which makes the sorting UI and integration path inconsistent.
If you were to just use `DataTableColumnHeader` in `ui-patterns/Table`,
you’d get a very different visual result to the `TableHeadSort` UI you
see in most other tables.
## What is the new behaviour?
Adds a shared `TanStackTableHeadSort` adapter in `ui-patterns/Table`,
backed by the existing `TableHeadSort` primitive, and switches the
webhook table plus the design-system TanStack demo to that canonical
path. `DataTableColumnHeader` stays as a deprecated wrapper for now,
Studio gets a lint guard to block new imports of it, and the table docs
now point TanStack tables at the shared adapter explicitly.
## To test
Check out column sorting on the Platform Webhook endpoint deliveries
table.
This PR moves several components which rely on `next` out of the `ui`
package to the `ui-patterns` package.
`ui-patterns` package is intented to be imported with specific imports
so it's ok if there are components reliant on `next` in there.
The `SonnerToaster` component has removed its dependency by requiring a
prop for `theme`.
We're exploring support for newer models like
[gpt-5.4-nano](https://openai.com/index/introducing-gpt-5-4-mini-and-nano/)
in Assistant. This model doesn't support the `'minimal'` reasoning
effort level we use for gpt-5-mini which leads to vague errors.
<img width="595" height="263" alt="CleanShot 2026-03-18 at 17 13 05@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/cf7c2370-322d-4a8a-be55-23e680db0aa0"
/>
Also, we've [previously
discussed](https://supabase.slack.com/archives/C0161K73J1J/p1771544464850199?thread_ts=1771493920.775699&cid=C0161K73J1J)
that reasoning adds unnecessary latency to otherwise simple AI
completion endpoints like `title-v2`. We want more control of reasoning
level independent of model/endpoint.
This PR aims to solve both problems by:
- making reasoning effort configurable on a per-request basis
- adding compile-time guardrails to prevent selecting an incompatible
reasoning level for models
- adding a `DEFAULT_COMPLETION_MODEL` with minimal reasoning that we can
update with newer models that support disabling reasoning (independent
of Assistant chat model reasoning)
Other improvements to our model config logic:
- Fixes bug in `onboarding/design.ts` and `assistant.eval.ts` where
`providerOptions` was being dropped
- `getModel()` now returns a bundled `modelParams` object (spread into
AI SDK calls) so `providerOptions` can't be accidentally omitted (this
[has happened
before](https://supabase.slack.com/archives/C0161K73J1J/p1771518443534309?thread_ts=1771493920.775699&cid=C0161K73J1J))
- Introduces an `ASSISTANT_MODELS` registry as a single source of truth
for assistant model config, eliminating hardcoded model IDs across the
codebase
- Aligns free/pro model conditional logic with `assistant.advance_model`
entitlement naming conventions instead of the `isLimited` pattern
- Adds `console.error` logging of Assistant stream errors so we can
interpret reasoning effort compatibility errors in the future (instead
of just opaque "Sorry, I'm having trouble responding right now" card)
- Removes unnecessary type casts and generally making the model config
logic stricter
- Removes pre-existing dead code: `anthropic` provider variant in
`GetModelParams` / `PROVIDERS` registry that was never implemented in
`getModel()`
Now if you try to select an unsupported reasoning level you get a type
error:
<img width="1306" height="320" alt="CleanShot 2026-03-20 at 14 37 24@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/a6ac234b-5ea5-4d81-8e01-ac4be34a0800"
/>
And if for some reason an invalid reasoning level slips through, you now
get a server-side error surfacing the issue:
<img width="1268" height="204" alt="CleanShot 2026-03-20 at 14 58 14@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/aadc1b7a-9495-475f-9741-39979bd27cd7"
/>
I've tested gpt-5 and gpt-5-mini are still working on the staging
preview and verified the models were selected properly in Braintrust
logs. Both models are available on my Pro test account, and my Free test
account shows the Pro upgrade CTA.

## Context
Edge functions code editor which uses the FileExplorerAndEditor
component doesn't resize when the viewport shrinks
This PR fixes that + also refactors the FileExplorerAndEditor a bit to
resolve the lint issue with `nodeRenderer` by refactoring the prop into
a renderer that uses `useCallback`
## Summary
Fixes several high-impact Sentry errors reported in production.
### Fixed Issues
- **[SUPABASE-APP-EJ3](https://supabase.sentry.io/issues/7356937474/)**
— `TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'direct')`.
`connectionStringPooler` could be `undefined` when the connection source
doesn't match any key in the connection strings map. Added an early
return guard in `resolveConnectionString`.
- **[SUPABASE-APP-B17](https://supabase.sentry.io/issues/7117468199/)**
— `RangeError: Invalid time zone specified: Etc/Unknown`.
`dayjs.tz.guess()` returns `"Etc/Unknown"` for some users with
misconfigured browser/OS timezones. Added a shared
`guessLocalTimezone()` helper that validates the guessed timezone via
`Intl.DateTimeFormat` and falls back to UTC. Applied across all 4 call
sites.
- **[SUPABASE-APP-BCM](https://supabase.sentry.io/issues/7192934901/)**
— `TypeError: Cannot convert undefined or null to object`.
`Object.entries(definition.properties)` crashed when a JSON schema
definition existed but had no `properties` field. Updated the guard to
check `definition?.properties` instead of just `definition`.
- https://supabase.sentry.io/issues/7358344652/?project=5459134
- https://supabase.sentry.io/issues/7096737077/?project=5459134
## Test plan
- [ ] Verify connect dialog renders without errors when connection data
is still loading
- [ ] Verify API docs Entity view handles schema definitions without
properties
- [ ] Verify charts/tooltips display correct timezone labels

Adds `chatId` (the chat UUID) to the three assistant PostHog events so
we can count distinct chat sessions in PostHog. This naming is
consistent with how we name the field in Braintrust logs.
Also migrates from the deprecated `useSendEventMutation` hook to
`useTrack` — groups (project/org) are still sent automatically by
`useTrack`.
Closes AI-519
## Context
Similar to how we added a banner for the new table filter bar - mainly
to improve visibility for this feature preview as we'd like some

- Also adding some typing to the `addBanner` and `dismissBanner`
- Removed banner for table editor filter bar
This PR:
* Adds an upgrade flow to the stripe sync engine, allowing users to
upgrade to the latest version when it becomes available.
* When a new version of sync engine becomes available, users will see an
upgrade button instead of install button.
* Bumps `supabase-management-js` to version 2.0.2 and
`stripe-experiment-sync` to version 1.0.27.
* Uses `parseSchemaComment` and related logic from the
`stripe-experiment-sync` package in order to avoid writing duplicate
code in supabase ui.
* Allows installation/uninstallation to timeout after 5 minutes to avoid
these operations from getting stuck in case an error occurs in their
processing. This allows users to retry the operation, as opposed to the
older behaviour where the users always see a spinner on the
install/uninstall button and couldn't do anything.
* Remove the SSL enforcement admonition as it is no longer required.
Sync engine can now be installed with or without SSL enforcement
enabled.

it better to move away from the GraphQL endpoint and leave that for

## Context
Related to dashboard scalability
Previous PR: https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/42856
Note: Changes are all feature flagged still and I'm still not entirely
convinced with the current UX
Will iterate as as go along, and only make this publicly available when
we're satisfied with the behaviour
Adds a "Dashboard preference" section to the project settings
<img width="265" height="740" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/6ce1aa19-26c2-47c6-a9c4-595137266631"
/>
In which users can then select which database they'd like to use for
read queries run from the dashboard
Note: Everything is local storage for now, but we'd need middleware
support if we want to make this setting persist for all users on the
project
<img width="791" height="434" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/e651d6d9-fed4-4da4-b552-c9f93f8d46d3"
/>
Added a dialog as well to further explain what this implies

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/0aa957af-cb51-476f-aa79-8948a7cbe5ae"
/>
## To test
- Choosing a replica in dashboard preferences will only affect the table
editor as thats the only place that's set up so far to use a replica for
read queries (I'll need to follow up for other parts of the dashboard in
subsequent PRs)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?
- Added tracker when the main ai button was pressed
- Added new event to track "Open in" third party apps
- Added 2 missing telemetry sources
## Changes
- Replaces plan ID-based chart gating with entitlement-based checks
across all observability pages (database, auth, realtime,
edge-functions)
- Adds requiredPlan display field so the upsell shows the correct target
plan (e.g. "Upgrade to Team" for disk throughput, not just "Upgrade")
- Decouples database-charts.ts from Organization Plan, now accepts
pre-computed entitlement flags instead
### Note on `requiredPlan`
The entitlement system currently tells us whether a user has access, but
not what plan they need to get access. `requiredPlan` is a frontend-only
display hint. Ideally the backend entitlement response would include a
minimumPlan field so we can remove this hardcoded mapping. For now, this
is a pragmatic workaround to avoid misleading upsell copy (e.g. a Free
user seeing "Upgrade" for a Team-only feature and landing on Pro).

Fixes a rendering bug where template URLs like
`https://<project-ref>.supabase.co/...` were displayed incorrectly in
Assistant responses. The markdown parser was treating `<project-ref>` as
a tag and silently stripping it.
- Adds `wrapPlaceholderUrls()` preprocessing step that auto-wraps bare
URLs containing `<kebab-case>` placeholders in backticks before passing
to the markdown renderer
- Strengthens the prompt instruction to explicitly say "always format
template URLs as inline code using backticks"
Sample prompt:
```
What are the OAuth2 endpoints for Supabase projects? List the authorization, token, and JWKS URLs.
