docs: recommend a local CLI install on the front page (#50356)
Closes DOCS-1391 ## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. ## What is the current behavior? The docs front page is the only place that still recommends a global CLI install. It shows `npm install -g supabase` in both the CLI tab and the AI prompt, and tells the agent to run `supabase init`. Everywhere else in the docs installs the CLI as a project dev dependency, so the version is pinned in `package.json` and everyone on a team runs the same one. ## What is the new behavior? - `installCli` becomes `npm install supabase --save-dev`, matching [Install and run the CLI](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/local-development/cli/getting-started). - `initialize` becomes `npx supabase init`. A dev-dependency install leaves no global `supabase` command. - The AI prompt says "as a project dev dependency" and states the reason, so an agent doesn't fall back to a global install. - Updates the same wording in the monitoring and debugging prompt, which shares the constants. - Updates the `AiPrompt` markdown schema test assertion. ## Manual testing 1. Open the [docs front page preview](https://docs-git-docs-cli-local-install-supabase.vercel.app/docs). The AI Prompt tab reads "Install the Supabase CLI as a project dev dependency with `npm install supabase --save-dev`, so the version is pinned per project" and ends with `npx supabase init`. 2. Select the **CLI** tab. It shows `npm install supabase --save-dev` on the first line and `npx plugins add supabase-community/supabase-plugin` on the second. 3. Run `pnpm run -F docs test:local:unwatch internals/markdown-schema/AiPrompt.test.ts`. All tests pass. |

refactor(ui): drop redundant Button variant="default" props (#50161)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Mechanical cleanup on top of the Button default-variant change (#50160). ## What is the current behavior? Many callsites still pass `variant="default"` even though that is now the component default. ## What is the new behavior? Removes redundant static `variant="default"` from legacy `Button` and `ButtonTooltip` callsites. Keeps explicit defaults where they document the API: - `button-default.tsx` and `button-sizes.tsx` demos - `DocsButton`, which pins neutral styling at the wrapper boundary ## To test Studio: - [Auth → Rate Limits](https://studio-staging-2s957kwc4-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/project/_/auth/rate-limits): dirty the form so Cancel appears; Cancel stays neutral, Save stays green - [Project Settings → API Keys](https://studio-staging-2s957kwc4-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/project/_/settings/api-keys): `DocsButton` in the header actions stays neutral Design system: - [Design system → Button](https://design-system-git-dnywh-dc924ac1-supabase.vercel.app/design-system/docs/components/button): `button-default` / `button-sizes` still show explicit default styling; Primary (green) is restricted to the Primary section (and `asChild`) WWW: - [www → Brand assets](https://zone-www-dot-com-git-dnywh-dc924ac1-supabase.vercel.app/brand-assets): Download logo kit / Download button kit stay neutral |

fix(docs): guides sidebar a11y elements (#49942)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? bug fix (accessibility) + test coverage ## What is the current behavior? the guides sidebar renders invalid list markup: group headers and dividers sit directly under the root `ul`, and accordion links render as `li` elements without an owning list fixes [DOCS-1279](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DOCS-1279/guides-sidebar-put-li-elements-directly-in-the-ul) ## What is the new behavior? - sidebar renders a semantic hierarchy: every `ul` has only `li` children, every `li` has an immediate list parent, and the menu header sits outside the item list. pure markup change, - docs e2e scans the guide navigation separately from the article and blocks the `list` and `listitem` axe rules there against sample pages that include different usages (flat links, grouped links, nested accordion) ## How to test? run the docs dev server, then the scoped a11y suite: ```bash pnpm dev:docs pnpm e2e:docs:a11y ``` ## Follow up visuals and behavior are unchanged here but better parity between guide/reference is handled in the stacked pr <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Bug Fixes** * Improved documentation navigation rendering for nested guide items, active states, and disabled entries. * Ensured navigation groups and child links use valid, testable list structures. * **Tests** * Added coverage verifying that guide navigation changes run the appropriate documentation pages. * Confirmed unrelated documentation changes can be skipped by the end-to-end workflow. * **Chores** * Updated documentation test scope detection to include guide navigation changes. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(docs): a11y projectconfigvariables (#50002)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? bug fix for accessibility, fixes [docs-1280](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DOCS-1280/projectconfigvariables-label-the-readonly-inputs-and-name) ## What is the current behavior? the project url and api key fields in `ProjectConfigVariables` have no associated label, so a screen reader announces an edit field with no indication of which value it holds ## What is the new behavior? - associates a `<label>` with each readonly input, so the fields announce as "project url" and "publishable key" - names each copy button after the value it copies - drops `role="combobox"` from the trigger, keeping the `aria-haspopup`, `aria-expanded` and `aria-controls` radix already supplies - names the trigger from its content instead of `aria-label`, so it announces the current selection - names the shared `CommandInput` reset button and hides its icons ## test - `pnpm dev:docs` - `/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/nextjs` (`url` + `publishable`) - `/docs/guides/auth/server-side/creating-a-client`, branch selector, needs a branching-enabled project - `/docs/guides/observability/log-drains` - `api_settings` in any getting-started quickstart ## Additional context reverses part of #49952 as that pr added `aria-label` to satisfy `button-name`, but did replace the accessible name rather than adding to it _ the sr-only prefix added here keeps the rule passing and announces the selection <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Accessibility** * Improved screen reader support for variable configuration controls, including clearer labels and copy-status announcements. * Enhanced combobox and search interactions with accessible labeling, empty-result announcements, and clearer reset-button names. * Decorative icons and visual-only messages are now hidden from assistive technologies. * **Tests** * Added accessibility coverage for search input icons and the clear-search control. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(ui): default Button variant to default instead of primary (#50160)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Bug fix / design-system alignment for the legacy `Button` from `ui`. ## What is the current behavior? Omitting `variant` on the legacy `Button` falls back to brand-green `primary`. That makes accidental greens easy, and it is hard to spot the real main action on busy pages. ## What is the new behavior? - Legacy `Button` now defaults to neutral `default` - Intentional primary CTAs (create, save, submit, marketing CTAs, and matching `ButtonTooltip` usages) now set `variant="primary"` so their appearance is unchanged - Neutral actions that previously relied on the old fallback (cancel, close, back, dashboard nav, and similar) become grey/white - Design-system docs updated; regression tests cover the new default `Button_Shadcn_` is unchanged. It already uses its own CVA default. This is PR 1 of 2 in a stack. PR 2 drops now-redundant `variant="default"` props. ## To test Studio (http://localhost:8082): - `/sign-in`: Sign in stays green - Open a project → Database → Tables: New table stays green - Auth → Users → Invite: Invite user stays green; Cancel / dismiss controls stay neutral - Project Settings → General: edit a field so Cancel and Save appear. Cancel is neutral, Save is green Design system (http://localhost:3003): - Components → Button: default demo is neutral; primary demo is green; featured preview is the default variant Marketing (optional): - www header: Start your project stays green; logged-in Dashboard is neutral <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Style** - Buttons now default to a neutral style, while primary actions across Studio, documentation, marketing pages, forms, dialogs, and error states use prominent primary styling. - Updated button examples and previews clarify the distinction between default and primary variants. - Event registration now includes a directional arrow icon. - **Tests** - Added coverage confirming default button styling and explicit primary styling behave as expected. - Updated related test fixtures to use primary styling where appropriate. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs: add Reflex framework quickstart (#45441)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update — adds a new framework quickstart. ## What is the current behavior? The Framework Quickstarts section under Getting Started covers Next.js, Nuxt, React, Flask, and others, but doesn't include Reflex (https://reflex.dev), an open-source Python web framework that compiles to React. Python developers building full-stack apps with Reflex have to piece together the Supabase setup from the general Python reference rather than following a quickstart. ## What is the new behavior? Adds a Reflex framework quickstart at `apps/docs/content/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/reflex.mdx`, mirroring the structure of the existing Flask quickstart: same DB setup partial (`quickstart_db_setup.mdx`), same env var step using `ProjectConfigVariables`, same six-step `StepHikeCompact` shape. A nav entry is added directly after Flask in `NavigationMenu.constants.ts`, gated on `!jsOnly` to match Flask's pattern. Verified end-to-end against a fresh Supabase project: ran every command in the docs literally, including the full SQL from `quickstart_db_setup.mdx` (with the `grant select on public.instruments to anon` line). The rendered Reflex app shows the Instruments heading with all three seeded rows. No console errors, no event-loop warnings. ## Additional context Conventions used in the quickstart: - Uses `uv` (`uv init`, `uv add`, `uv run`) rather than pip + venv. This follows the broader docs pattern of each quickstart using its framework's idiomatic tooling (Next.js → npx, RedwoodJS → yarn, Laravel → composer, Flutter → pubspec.yaml). It also matches what Reflex's own `reflex init` post-install message recommends. `uv add` produces a `pyproject.toml` and `uv.lock` so users can rebuild deterministically with `uv sync`. - The Supabase client is constructed via `acreate_client` with a lazy-init pattern, and the event handler is `async def`. This avoids blocking Reflex's event loop on the HTTP request. In touch with the Supabase team on this — happy to iterate on copy or scope based on review. Pre-flight: ran pnpm run format locally, which passed cleanly. Did not run pnpm run build locally — hit a Windows/CRLF-related TOML parsing failure in an unrelated troubleshooting frontmatter file (apps/docs/content/troubleshooting/all-about-supabase-egress-a_Sg_e.mdx) during page data collection. Relying on Vercel preview to validate the build. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added Reflex (Python) and Spring Boot to the framework quickstarts. * Reorganized quickstart listings for clearer framework navigation and grouping. * **Documentation** * Added a Reflex quickstart guide covering Supabase setup, environment variables, asynchronous data loading, error handling, and running the app. * Added Reflex-specific AI guidance for configuring Supabase projects. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

docs: restructure the connecting to Postgres guide by information type (#49869)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Restructure, mostly moved lines, plus inbound anchor fixes. ## What is the current behavior? The page states the same routing decision four times and never states an answer: - Intro bullets - A matrix table - A "How to choose the right connection method?" section - A Mermaid flowchart An agent asked "I'm deploying to Vercel serverless functions, set up the database connection" has to synthesize an answer from four partial, inconsistent restatements. Context, procedure, and reference material are interleaved throughout, so background reading interrupts the action path. The page is also too long at 2,883 words, and grouping alone doesn't fix that. Explainer and reference material need their own page, and the troubleshooting group belongs in troubleshooting entries. 16 of the 19 inbound anchor links to this page are already broken on `master`, before any restructure: `#direct-connections`, `#shared-pooler`, `#connection-pooler`, `#how-connection-pooling-works`, `#quick-summary`, `#connection-pool`, and `#connecting-with-drizzle`. Groundwork for [DOCS-1312](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DOCS-1312). The issue stays open until the paired eval is re-run. ## What is the new behavior? Group the guide into a decision, a procedure, context, reference, and troubleshooting, per CONTRIBUTING § Guides on mixed information types. Review with `git diff --color-moved=zebra`. - Lead with "Which connection method do you use?", a decision table keyed on where your code runs. Section navigation sits directly below the intro. - Collect every connection string under "Get your connection string", with the shared Connect dialog steps stated once as a procedure. - Move the endpoint, port, pool size, and connection limit material into "Connection reference". These were FAQ questions. - Split the page. The guide keeps the decision, the connection strings, and the quickstarts, at 1,180 words and three paths. A new child page, Connection pooling and limits, carries how pooling works, pool size, connection limits, and monitoring. - Move the endpoint and IP version table up beside the connection strings it explains. - Replace the troubleshooting group with two new troubleshooting entries, `tenant-or-user-not-found` and `fatal-password-authentication-failed`, plus links to the existing entries. The existing connection-refused entry is stronger than what was here: it names the IP ban and gives the unban procedure. - Cut the pool size worked example. It said a pool size of 30 is a shared ceiling across session and transaction mode, while the Supavisor FAQ and the terminology entry both say pool size is per user, database, and mode combination. That text came from `master`, so the contradiction is pre-existing. Link the FAQ as the authority rather than picking a side. - Drop the duplicate `pg_stat_ssl` query, which already exists in `connection-management.mdx` and `monitor-supavisor-postgres-connections.mdx`, both with column tables this page lacked. - Add the subsection to the navigation, which also adopts `connecting-to-postgres/serverless-drivers`. That page existed on disk and was referenced nowhere in the navigation constants. - Delete the decision flowchart. It was the fourth restatement of the decision table, and its logic was broken: `Persistent Backend` had two unconditional edges into decision nodes that each had one unlabeled output, so neither node decided anything. - Fix every broken inbound anchor, and pin stable anchors on the headings they target. This now includes six files in `apps/www` that no earlier pass in this stack checked, most of which were already broken on `master`. - Repoint the Studio Connect sheet's Drizzle link at the Drizzle guide. It pointed at a heading this page hasn't had for some time. - Serverless drivers: state the guide's intent, give the three runtimes parallel structure, and link the transaction mode prepared statements constraint. That page never mentioned the constraint that most affects serverless connections. ## Additional context PR 2 of 2. Base is #49868, rebased on its review feedback commit. Three of the 13 files are in `apps/studio`, so this runs the Studio unit tests, build, and lint ratchet. They are link string changes only. The ESLint warning count is unchanged at 1 on the touched files, so the ratchet holds. ## Manual testing 1. Open [Connect to your database](https://docs-git-docs-connecting-to-postgres-structure-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/database/connecting-to-postgres) on the deploy preview. 2. Check the table of contents. The top level reads: Which connection method do you use?, Get your connection string, Quickstarts, Related. The intro lists three paths. 3. Open [Reports](https://docs-git-docs-connecting-to-postgres-structure-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/monitoring-and-debugging/reports) and follow "Implement connection pooling" under Disk IO. It lands on the decision table. 4. Open [Serverless drivers](https://docs-git-docs-connecting-to-postgres-structure-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/database/connecting-to-postgres/serverless-drivers). The intro links the transaction mode prepared statements constraint. 5. Check the sidebar. Connecting to your database expands to Connection pooling and limits and Serverless drivers. 6. Open [Connection pooling and limits](https://docs-git-docs-connecting-to-postgres-structure-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/database/connecting-to-postgres/pooling-and-limits). Pool size states the setting and links the Supavisor FAQ, with no worked example. 7. Open [Tenant or user not found](https://docs-git-docs-connecting-to-postgres-structure-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/troubleshooting/tenant-or-user-not-found). <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added a dedicated guide covering connection pooling, limits, configuration, and monitoring. * Added troubleshooting guides for password authentication failures and shared pooler tenant or user errors. * Expanded connection guidance with method selection, endpoints, IP versions, and serverless driver configuration. * **Documentation** * Reorganized database connection documentation and navigation. * Updated related links throughout the documentation to current connection and pooling guidance. * Improved guidance for pooler modes, connection strings, and supported deployment environments. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs: restore Troubleshooting nav link under Resources dropdown (#50028)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? This restores the "Troubleshooting" quick link to the docs top navigation. It was dropped from the "Manage" dropdown as a side effect of a broader information-architecture rework, and this PR re-adds it under the "Resources" dropdown instead, since the underlying troubleshooting guide page was never removed, only its top-nav shortcut. ## What is the current behavior? The "Troubleshooting" entry was removed from the "Manage" dropdown in the top nav during a prior IA restructuring commit. The `/guides/troubleshooting` page itself still exists and is still linked from within the Monitoring & Debugging sidebar, but there is no longer a top-level nav shortcut to it. Note that we might need to make some additional updates as our observability docs changes wrap up. ## What is the new behavior? - Adds a "Troubleshooting" item (with its existing icon) to the end of the "Resources" dropdown, after Glossary, Changelog, Status, and Contributing. - Links to the existing `/guides/troubleshooting` route. - No changes to the "Manage" dropdown or any other nav group. ## Additional context **Verification:** | Check | Result | | --- | --- | | `pnpm typecheck --filter=docs` | pass | | `pnpm lint --filter=docs` | pre-existing 1138 warnings/errors unrelated to this file; edited file has zero lint issues (lint is not hard-gated for docs) | | Manual check: dev server, opened "Resources" dropdown | Troubleshooting appears with icon, links to `/guides/troubleshooting` (200) | | Manual check: "Manage" dropdown unchanged | confirmed | | Manual check: mobile nav (shares same config) | confirmed same entry renders | ### Proof: Screenshots of the "Resources" dropdown, before and after this change: | [Before (production)](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/getting-started) | [After (PR preview)](https://docs-git-docs-restore-troubleshooting-nav-resources-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started) | | --- | --- | | | | ### Test plan - [ ] Open the "Resources" dropdown in the top nav and confirm "Troubleshooting" appears after "Contributing" - [ ] Click "Troubleshooting" and confirm it navigates to `/guides/troubleshooting` - [ ] Confirm the "Manage" dropdown is unchanged - [ ] Check the mobile nav shows the same entry under "Resources" Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

## What kind of change does this PR introduce? bug fix for accessibility, fixes [docs-1265](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DOCS-1365/add-aria-label-to-icon-only-buttons-button-name) ## What is the current behavior? some controles in the docs app have no accessible name, so screen readers announce them as an unlabelled "button" ## What is the new behavior? - adds each control a name the way its neighbours already do - adds menu toggle a state-dependent `aria-label` and `aria-expanded` - adds `button-name` to `enforced_rules` <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Accessibility** - Added descriptive labels to configuration selectors and mobile menu controls. - Mobile menu controls now announce whether the menu is open or closed. - Expanded accessibility validation to check button names across documentation pages. - **UI Improvements** - Updated the raw throughput table control with a clearer button appearance and expandable chevron indicator. - Replaced a schema-migration tooltip with a direct in-page link. - **Documentation** - Removed the Info Tooltip component guidance from the contributing documentation. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs: restructure observability navigation and overview (#49505)
<!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_BEGIN --> ## Stack Draft stack extracted from `docs/monitoring`. Merge bottom-up. The troubleshooting *catalog* rewrite (`content/troubleshooting` and the Diagnosing UI) stays out of scope. 1. #49503 move inspect and advisors 2. #49501 split Studio logs from ClickHouse queries 3. #49500 treat reports as signal dashboards 4. #49502 add Observe the data hub 5. #49506 add agent setup components 6. #49504 add hire-an-agent templates 7. **#49505** restructure observability nav, overview, Detecting, and flatten Observe the data ← **this PR** ## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Top layer in the observability stack. ## What is the current behavior? The section is still titled Monitoring and Debugging, with a Debugging / Monitoring split that does not match the new pages. The debugging guide is still the master layer-isolation + symptom table. Observe the data is split into “what data” vs “where to observe it,” which duplicates the source pages. ## What is the new behavior? - Section title is Observability - Overview groups Observe the data, Detect and resolve, Hire an agent, and Export - **Observe the data is flattened by source.** Logs, Metrics API, Database, Advisors, and Reports each list where to read that source. There is no separate MCP/API/CLI/Studio nav group. - **Observe vs Detecting:** Observe is the catalog (what exists, how to access it). Detecting is how to *use* those sources to pick up a Health / Security / Performance / Usage signal. Named errors skip to Diagnosing. - Studio Logs sits under Logs. Reports sits beside the other sources. - Troubleshooting stays in the global menu and also appears as Diagnosing under Detect and resolve ## Additional context This is the last PR in the stack. Together the seven PRs reconstruct the `docs/monitoring` observability IA and guide content, without shipping the troubleshooting catalog overhaul. <!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_END --> <div><a href="https://cursor.com/agents/bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794?cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_web"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-light.png"><img alt="Open in Web" width="114" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"></picture></a> <a href="https://cursor.com/background-agent?bcId=bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794&cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_cursor"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-light.png"><img alt="Open in Cursor" width="131" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"></picture></a> </div> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Saxon Fletcher <SaxonF@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Sixth layer in the observability stack. ## What is the current behavior? Humans and agents have no packaged, copy-paste observability routines to run in their own harness. ## What is the new behavior? - Hire an agent hub plus Doctor, Security officer, Personal trainer, and Accountant - Each page is a prompt + schedule + harness setup (Claude, Codex, Cursor) - MCP security guidance covers unattended read-only monitoring on production ## Additional context These pages are the agent-facing templates from the prototype. #49505 puts them in the Observability overview and sidebar. <!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_END --> <div><a href="https://cursor.com/agents/bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794?cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_web"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-light.png"><img alt="Open in Web" width="114" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"></picture></a> <a href="https://cursor.com/background-agent?bcId=bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794&cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_cursor"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-light.png"><img alt="Open in Cursor" width="131" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"></picture></a> </div> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Saxon Fletcher <SaxonF@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Steven Eubank <eubank.steven88@gmail.com> |

docs: add reusable monitoring agent setup components (#49506)
<!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_BEGIN --> ## Stack Draft stack extracted from `docs/monitoring`. Merge bottom-up. Troubleshooting / debugging-guide rewrite is out of scope. 1. #49503 move inspect and advisors 2. #49501 split Studio logs from ClickHouse queries 3. #49500 treat reports as signal dashboards 4. #49502 add Observe the data hub 5. **#49506** add agent setup components ← **this PR** 6. #49504 add hire-an-agent templates 7. #49505 restructure observability nav and overview ## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs app feature (MDX components + markdown export). Fifth layer in the observability stack. ## What is the current behavior? There is no shared way to render a monitoring agent prompt, schedule, and Claude/Codex/Cursor setup instructions in both HTML and generated markdown. ## What is the new behavior? - `AgentSetup` and `AgentWatchSchedule` MDX components, registered for HTML and markdown export - Shared `monitoring-agents` data (cadence, prompt ids, harness steps) - Opt-in `AiPrompt` markdown export (`includeInMarkdown`) so quickstarts stay HTML-only - Optional content-listing `subtitle` for schedule labels on cards No agent guide pages yet — those land in #49504 so this PR stays a reviewable code change. ## Additional context Markdown schema handlers share the same data module as the React components. <!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_END --> <div><a href="https://cursor.com/agents/bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794?cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_web"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-light.png"><img alt="Open in Web" width="114" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"></picture></a> <a href="https://cursor.com/background-agent?bcId=bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794&cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_cursor"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-light.png"><img alt="Open in Cursor" width="131" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"></picture></a> </div> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Saxon Fletcher <SaxonF@users.noreply.github.com> |

YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Second layer in the observability stack. ## What is the current behavior? `/guides/monitoring-and-debugging/logs` mixes the Studio Logs UI with ClickHouse query syntax, sources, and recording extra events. ## What is the new behavior? - Logs is the Studio interface guide (filters, log types, inspecting a row) - Query and filter logs (`advanced-log-filtering`) owns ClickHouse SQL, sources, MCP/API/CLI access, and recording extra Postgres/API/Realtime events - Log field reference explains `log_attributes` query paths - Nav labels and cross-links follow the new titles ## Additional context Forward links to the later Observe the data hub are added in #49502. ## Self-review - Existing `#querying-with-the-logs-explorer` and `#configuring-pgauditlog` anchors now live on Query and filter logs - Debugging-guide links that pointed at the old Logs Explorer heading were retargeted so they still resolve <!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_END --> <div><a href="https://cursor.com/agents/bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794?cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_web"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-light.png"><img alt="Open in Web" width="114" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"></picture></a> <a href="https://cursor.com/background-agent?bcId=bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794&cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_cursor"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-light.png"><img alt="Open in Cursor" width="131" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"></picture></a> </div> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Saxon Fletcher <SaxonF@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

docs: move inspect and advisors into observability (#49503)
<!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_BEGIN --> ## Stack Draft stack extracted from `docs/monitoring`. Merge bottom-up. Troubleshooting / debugging-guide rewrite is out of scope. 1. **#49503** move inspect and advisors ← **this PR** 2. #49501 split Studio logs from ClickHouse queries 3. #49500 treat reports as signal dashboards 4. #49502 add Observe the data hub 5. #49506 add agent setup components 6. #49504 add hire-an-agent templates 7. #49505 restructure observability nav and overview ## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. First layer in the observability stack. ## What is the current behavior? Inspect and advisors live under Database (`/guides/database/inspect`, `/guides/database/database-advisors`). Observability readers have to leave the monitoring section to find them. ## What is the new behavior? - Moves inspect into `/guides/monitoring-and-debugging/inspect` - Adds `/guides/monitoring-and-debugging/advisors` (replaces the Database Advisors page) - Adds redirects and updates Studio/docs links so old URLs keep working - Adds both pages to the existing Monitoring nav so they are discoverable before the later IA PR ## Additional context Inspect and advisors pages render as standard MDX. Redirects cover `/docs/guides/database/inspect`, `/docs/guides/database/database-advisors`, and `/docs/guides/database/database-linter`. Debugging-guide content is unchanged except the inspect URL. ## Self-review - No leftover `/guides/database/inspect` or `/guides/database/database-advisors` links in docs guides or Studio linter/AI surfaces (historical blog posts left as-is) - Smoke test path updated to `/docs/guides/monitoring-and-debugging/advisors` <!-- CURSOR_AGENT_PR_BODY_END --> <div><a href="https://cursor.com/agents/bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794?cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_web"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-light.png"><img alt="Open in Web" width="114" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-web-dark.png"></picture></a> <a href="https://cursor.com/background-agent?bcId=bc-a3cb5ece-925b-4046-b58a-5d69e9a9d794&cursor_ref=pr_footer&cursor_cta=open_in_cursor"><picture><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: dark)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"><source media="(prefers-color-scheme: light)" srcset="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-light.png"><img alt="Open in Cursor" width="131" height="28" src="https://cursor.com/assets/images/open-in-cursor-dark.png"></picture></a> </div> <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **New Features** - Added a centralized Advisors guide for security and performance checks. - Updated database inspection guidance with live Postgres statistics, cache hit-rate context, and query-analysis resources. - **Documentation** - Reorganized Advisors and database inspection content under Monitoring and Debugging. - Updated navigation, cross-references, in-product help links, and CLI documentation links. - Added permanent redirects from previous documentation URLs to preserve access. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Saxon Fletcher <SaxonF@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

fix(docs): stop sidebar from jumping on scroll (#49807)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? bug fix to stop sidebar jump on scroll within docs ## What is the current behavior? the docs sidebar shifts up by 1px as soon as scrolling start as the top bar height include bottom border causing the jump as height token differ from the whole height ## What is the new behavior? favor box shadow instead of a border for the bottom line, so height matches the token and nothing needs to compensate any more which allows to remove some `+1px` elsewhere + also drops a nested `lg:sticky` in the sidebar that did nothing inside an already-sticky parent | state | preview | | -------|------| | before | <video src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/b4bbfa2d-6595-4711-bb2b-bd2bf3aded8a" /> | | after | <video src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f044aebc-ef14-42c1-8564-3b290399d00b" /> | ## Additional context - header now uses the existing `subhighlight-border` utility, which was not used anywhere else it seems, could also be renamed? - could be down the other way by keeping border and fixing the jump <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Bug Fixes** * Improved documentation navigation alignment by removing unnecessary spacing from sticky sidebars, table of contents, and section headings. * Updated desktop navigation behavior for more consistent scrolling and viewport layout. * Refined the top navigation bar’s border styling for a cleaner appearance. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs: add Personal Access Tokens guide with generated permission tables (#49732)
Add a guide that compares classic and scoped personal access tokens, explains how account roles constrain token permissions, and walks through creating and testing a project-scoped token. Include generated tables mapping permissions to Management API endpoints and MCP tools, and link the guide from docs navigation and Studio token sheets. Move the scoped-token permission catalog from Studio into shared-data. Studio and docs generation now share permission names, categories, descriptions, risk metadata, modes, scopes, and display order. Generate the tables from the shared catalog, OpenAPI x-fga-permissions, and the downloaded MCP permission map. Exclude Workers permissions until the feature is live. Run regeneration through the docs Makefile, verify checked-in output in CI, and refresh it in the weekly Management API workflow. Add Dashboard and Docs ownership plus contributor guidance so permission changes stay synchronized. |

docs(integrations): add Stripe Projects provisioning guide (#49354)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? This PR adds some missing Stripe Projects documentation: a short peer entry on the Integrations overview (next to the existing Vercel Marketplace entry) plus a focused guide page. Closes DOCS-1337. ## What is the current behavior? - Linear item: `DOCS-1337`: Document programmatic project provisioning, with Stripe Projects as a partner example - No page under `apps/docs/content/**` mentions Stripe Projects. The only existing prose is a blog post and a `/go/` marketing page, neither indexed as docs nor surfaced in `llms.txt` (which is generated purely from `content/guides/**` directory names/titles). - The Studio-side confirmation flow (`apps/studio/pages/partners/stripe/projects/login.tsx`) already exists and works; the gap is entirely on the docs side. ## What is the new behavior? - `apps/docs/content/guides/integrations.mdx`: added a "Stripe Projects" section, same weight as the existing "Vercel Marketplace" section (short description + link), so Stripe is presented as one of several provisioning paths rather than singled out. - `apps/docs/content/guides/integrations/stripe-projects.mdx` (new): Overview, Quickstart (CLI commands from the Stripe Projects blog post), Authorizing the request (the actual Supabase-side confirmation screen behavior), and Limitations. - `apps/docs/components/Navigation/NavigationMenu/NavigationMenu.constants.ts`: added the new page to the Integrations sidebar nav, alongside Vercel Marketplace. ## Additional context - Worktree: `~/GitHub/supabase/supabase/.claude/worktrees/docs-1337-stripe-projects` - Paired eval issue: `DOCS-1338`: a regression eval to be added/run separately, before and after this PR, to confirm agent discoverability actually improves. - Out of scope: the agent-skills piece (separate `supabase/agent-skills` repo, federated into docs at `content/guides/ai-tools/ai-skills.mdx`) is being picked up separately. - The org-linking limitation is confirmed against `AccountRequestDetailsDto` and `AccountRequestsController_confirmAccountRequest` in `packages/api-types/types/platform.d.ts`: the schema exposes a single optional `linked_organization`, not a list, and the confirm endpoint takes no request body, so there's no way for the client to select a different organization. - The first Vercel deploy on this branch failed on an invalid `<!-- -->` HTML comment (not valid MDX); fixed in a follow-up commit to use `{/* */}`. - Heading case (`Stripe Projects`) and the word `proxied` needed allowlist entries in `supa-mdx-lint/Rule001HeadingCase.toml` and `supa-mdx-lint/Rule003Spelling.toml`, matching the existing `Vercel Marketplace` precedent. - Added a Limitations bullet (per reviewer suggestion from gregorvand) on accessing the dashboard for a newly provisioned organization via `stripe projects open supabase` or the reset-password flow. ### Integrations page update ([PR preview](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-1337-document-programm-7b3426-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/integrations)) ### Stripe Projects page addition ([PR preview](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-1337-document-programm-7b3426-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/integrations/stripe-projects)) ### Test plan - [x] Confirm the "Stripe Projects" section renders on [the Integrations overview page (preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-1337-document-programm-7b3426-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/integrations) - [x] Confirm [the new Stripe Projects page (preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-1337-document-programm-7b3426-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/integrations/stripe-projects) renders and appears in the sidebar under Integrations - [ ] Confirm the new page surfaces in `llms.txt` (directory/title based) - [x] Org-linking limitation confirmed via the `AccountRequestDetailsDto`/confirm-endpoint schema (see Additional context) rather than a Stripe Projects team conversation - [x] Re-ran `supa-mdx-lint` allowlist additions locally; heading-case and spelling findings addressed <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **New Features** - Added Stripe Projects to the integrations navigation. - Added guidance for provisioning Supabase projects through the Stripe CLI, synchronizing environments, accessing dashboards, rotating credentials, and understanding authorization and organization-linking limitations. - **Documentation** - Linked the Stripe Projects guide from the integrations overview. - Updated documentation validation to support Stripe Projects terminology and capitalization. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> Co-authored-by: Gregor <1828888+gregorvand@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(studio): clean up onboarding returnTo paths (#49283)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Bug fix. Follow-up to #41041 and DEPR-318. ## What is the current behavior? Marketing "Start your project" links go to `/dashboard`, which redirects unauthenticated users to `/org` and sets `returnTo=/org`. That value survives when they switch from sign-in to sign-up, so email verification still lands on the org list instead of org creation. ## What is the new behavior? - Sign-in's **Sign up** link rewrites `returnTo=/org` (and `/organizations`) to `/new` - Docs mobile menu, www homepage/product CTAs, and solution page CTAs link to `/dashboard/sign-up` for guests - Signed-in visitors get the dashboard URL instead, so they never hit the sign-up form - Shared `DASHBOARD_SIGN_UP_URL` / `getDashboardCtaHref` helpers for www Stacked on #41041. ## To test Stacked on #41041. The studio preview below includes both PRs. www and docs have their own previews. ### Studio: sign-in → sign-up rewrite Using the [studio-staging preview](https://studio-staging-git-dnywh-fixonboarding-return-to-supabase.vercel.app/) from Vercel checks: 1. Open the preview while logged out. It should land on `/dashboard/sign-in?returnTo=%2Forg` 2. Click **Sign up**. Expect the URL to include `returnTo=%2Fnew` ### Optional: www CTAs Using the [www preview](https://zone-www-dot-com-git-dnywh-fixonboarding-return-to-supabase.vercel.app/): 3. Logged out: homepage, product, or solutions **Start your project** should go to `/dashboard/sign-up` 4. Logged in: the same CTAs should go to `/dashboard` (not sign-up) (thought this will be hard if not impossible to test on staging) ### Optional: docs CTAs Using the [docs preview](https://docs-git-dnywh-fixonboarding-return-to-supabase.vercel.app/): 5. On mobile nav while logged out, click **Start your project**. Expect `/dashboard/sign-up` ### Compare on supabase.green Optional. Just to show what happens currently on `master`: 6. Open **supabase.green** while logged out, then click **Sign up** from `/dashboard/sign-in?returnTo=%2Forg`. `returnTo` should stay as `/org` <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Start-project and sign-up links now direct visitors to registration while signed-in users continue to reach the dashboard. * Homepage, product, solution, and mobile navigation CTAs now provide consistent authentication-aware destinations. * Sign-up links preserve return destinations and existing navigation parameters. * **Bug Fixes** * Corrected mobile navigation and marketing CTA links that previously sent visitors to the dashboard root instead of the appropriate sign-up flow. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

clean up docs admonition structure (#48669)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Resolves DEPR-634. Stacked on #48664. The linter package and CI revision pins will be updated after [supa-mdx-lint#121](https://github.com/supabase-community/supa-mdx-lint/pull/121) merges and is released. ## What is the current behavior? Admonition body content can contain structural headings, which inherit prose spacing and produce awkward callout layouts. Standalone Docs actions are also rendered as ordinary body content in two places. | Before | | --- | | <img width="1264" height="840" alt="70168" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/00aa7620-a6b4-452c-971f-b3ce2eda0e8c" /> | | _Recent violation with Markdown header in `children`. Notice the big gap up top._ | ## What is the new behavior? - Documents that admonition titles belong in the `title` prop, standalone calls to action belong in `actions`, and document sections belong outside admonitions. - Configures heading-inside-admonition violations as errors for the forthcoming linter release. - Moves the UI-library and wrapper dashboard buttons into the existing `actions` slot without changing the shared component. Validated with the forthcoming linter across all 810 Docs sources, Docs type-checking, targeted ESLint and Prettier checks, and desktop/mobile rendering. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Documentation** * Clarified admonition guidelines for optional titles, headings, rich content, and standalone calls to action. * Improved guidance on when contextual links and interactive examples belong in admonition content. * **Style** * Updated documentation call-to-action buttons to use the designated actions area. * **Quality Improvements** * Added validation to prevent headings inside admonitions and maintain consistent formatting. * Updated documentation linting to apply the latest validation rules. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(docs): fix step code block spacing and Prisma guide tabs (#49263)
Two fixes for the [Prisma guide](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/database/prisma): - `StepHikeCompact.Code` marked its whole subtree `not-prose`, so the labels and admonitions that steps interleave with their code samples rendered at 16px with zero margins, flush against the samples and tab bars. Dropping `not-prose` restores body typography and spacing; back-to-back samples now get a gap too, since they have no prose between them. - The guide's three outer tab groups omitted `type`, so they fell back to pill styling — the only pills among 395 `<Tabs>` in the content tree. Fixes DOCS-1327 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Style** * Improved spacing and prose behavior for code samples in the documentation. * Preserved existing code margin customizations. * Updated Prisma guide tabs with a consistent compact, underlined appearance. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs(database): split RLS tuning into its own guide (#49016)
Stacked on #49015, which is stacked on #49011. Review those first. ## Problem The Row Level Security guide spent 225 lines and 5 benchmark tables on performance, 29% of the page. The `RLS Performance and Best Practices` troubleshooting entry already covers the same six tips with the same numbers, from the same source. Neither page tells you how to check whether RLS is your bottleneck in the first place. Four of the six tips are not tuning advice. Indexes, `select`-wrapping, role scoping, and `security definer` safety change whether a policy is correct and safe, not just fast. ## Solution - Add `guides/database/postgres/row-level-security-performance`. It carries the client-filter rule, the join-rewrite rule, all 5 benchmark tables merged into one, and a new `Diagnose whether RLS is the bottleneck` section: toggle RLS off to confirm it's the cost, then read the plan under an impersonated role. That diagnostic exists in the troubleshooting entry and has never been in the guide. - Keep every rule that affects correctness on the RLS guide, grouped under `Write policies that scale`. These are also the four the `build-docs-002-rls-guide` eval grades, and an agent reads the guide top-down. - Repoint the Grafana IO troubleshooting entry at the new page. - Rewrite `More resources` as `Related content`. Every link now says what it is and when to use it. Adds `Advanced pgTAP testing`, the deepest RLS testing content in the docs, which nothing here linked. Drops discussion 14576: locked, mislabeled here as "RLS Guide and Best Practices" when it is "RLS **Performance** and Best Practices", and superseded by the troubleshooting entry and this new page. **Ownership rule** so the two pages don't drift: the RLS guide owns the rule and the correct form. The performance page owns the measurement and the optimizer explanation. If a sentence on the performance page tells you what to write, it belongs on the guide. Scoped out of this PR: `More resources` was assigned to the restructure PR in the plan, but the 14576 link is what this PR supersedes, so leaving it would ship a stale pointer. ## Manual testing 1. Open the [RLS performance guide](https://docs-git-docs-rls-performance-split-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/database/postgres/row-level-security-performance) on the preview. It appears in the left nav under Database, Access and security, directly below Row Level Security. 2. Select the three rule links in its intro. Each lands on the matching section of the RLS guide. 3. Open the [Row Level Security guide](https://docs-git-docs-rls-performance-split-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/database/postgres/row-level-security) and go to `Write policies that scale`. It holds indexes, `select`-wrapping, and role scoping, with one link out to the performance page. 4. Open the [Grafana IO troubleshooting entry](https://docs-git-docs-rls-performance-split-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/troubleshooting/interpreting-supabase-grafana-io-charts-MUynDR) and select the RLS performance guide link. It lands on the new page. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Documentation** * Added a dedicated guide for diagnosing and improving PostgreSQL Row Level Security performance. * Expanded guidance on indexing, query filters, role targeting, function usage, and avoiding costly policy joins. * Updated the Row Level Security guide with streamlined, scalable policy recommendations and links to related resources. * Added the new performance guide to the Database documentation navigation. * Updated troubleshooting guidance to reference the dedicated performance guide. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

docs: standardize quickstart guides (#48950)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update ## What is the new behavior? - All 19 guides follow one step order: create project → set up database → create app → AI tooling → add keys → create client → query data → run it → go to production. Added _template.mdx with structure requirements; it is not enforced with a lint check for now - this will be a separate PR before adding new guides. - 4 new partials replace copy-pasted blocks (AI tooling, connection strings, mobile env vars, going to production). - Error handling: return a message instead of a blank page when a query fails. - All guides verified and tested separately - all work as described. What was fixed: wrong env var names in the Hono sample, a Next.js page that redirected to login, missing database permissions in Refine and Hono, and stale file paths and APIs in SvelteKit, Refine, and TanStack. - Astro, Expo, Python, Laravel, and Rails were live but missing from the quickstart grid or listing page. Added, with two new icons. ## Quick links for review Base preview: https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs **Quickstart discovery**: new Astro/Expo/Python/Laravel/Rails entries and icons - [Docs homepage grid](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs) <img width="1998" height="882" alt="CleanShot 2026-08-12 at 12 06 31@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/942eb7e2-1e85-4b20-a6a7-c2b127d31b2b" /> - [Getting started overview](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started) <img width="856" height="878" alt="CleanShot 2026-08-12 at 12 13 30@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d48091a9-7daf-4796-a521-14116b7479c9" /> ### New shared files: **[apps/docs/content/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/_template.mdx](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/e311542913cf8da07f322a7586339d6f5de30c61/apps/docs/content/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/_template.mdx?plain=1)** A reference contract the other 19 quickstart guides are checked against. Documents the required frontmatter, the canonical 10-step section order, every guide's deviation from that order (and why), the direct-Postgres exception (Laravel/Rails/RedwoodJS/Spring Boot), and the discovery-surface/icon requirements for adding a new guide. No lint rule enforces it yet; that's a follow-up PR. **[apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_ai_tooling.mdx](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/e311542913cf8da07f322a7586339d6f5de30c61/apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_ai_tooling.mdx?plain=1)** Example: [Next.js](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/nextjs#4-set-up-ai-tooling-optional) → "Set up AI tooling" section Shared by all 19 guides: astrojs, expo-react-native, flask, flutter, hono, ios-swiftui, kotlin, laravel, nextjs, nuxtjs, reactjs, redwoodjs, refine, ruby-on-rails, solidjs, spring-boot, sveltekit, tanstack, vue **[apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_going_to_production.mdx](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/e311542913cf8da07f322a7586339d6f5de30c61/apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_going_to_production.mdx?plain=1)** Example: [Next.js](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/nextjs#going-to-production) → "Going to production" section Shared by all 19 guides: same full list as above **[apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_connection_string.mdx](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/e311542913cf8da07f322a7586339d6f5de30c61/apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_connection_string.mdx?plain=1)** Example: [Laravel](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/laravel#5-set-up-the-postgres-connection-details) → connection string setup step Shared by 3 guides: laravel, ruby-on-rails, spring-boot – the ORM/backend frameworks that connect directly to Postgres rather than through the Data API **[apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_mobile_env_note.mdx](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/e311542913cf8da07f322a7586339d6f5de30c61/apps/docs/content/_partials/quickstart_mobile_env_note.mdx?plain=1)** Example: [iOS SwiftUI](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/ios-swiftui#get-api-details:~:text=This%20guide%20substitutes%20your%20project%20URL%20and%20key%20directly) → environment variables step Shared by 3 guides: ios-swiftui, flutter, kotlin – note Expo React Native is mobile too but doesn't use this partial, since it has its own `EXPO_PUBLIC_` prefix convention inline instead. ## Per guide changes **[Astro](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/astrojs#9-query-supabase-data-from-astro)** Typed query error in the server client sample. **[Expo React Native](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/expo-react-native#8-query-data-from-the-app)** Added an `error` state alongside instruments. Fixes wrong env var names from the previous sample. **[iOS SwiftUI](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/ios-swiftui#8-query-data-from-the-app)** Added an `isLoading` state so the loading overlay doesn't hang forever on a successful empty result (CodeRabbit fix). **[Kotlin](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/kotlin#5-install-dependencies)** Fixed the Compose compiler plugin declaration: `apply false` was missing from the app module (CodeRabbit finding). **[Laravel](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/laravel#5-set-up-the-postgres-connection-details)** Now uses the shared `quickstart_connection_string.mdx` partial for the session-pooler/SSL guidance instead of inline copy. **[Next.js](https://docs-git-docs-standardize-framework-quickstarts-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/nextjs#6-allow-public-access-to-the-instruments-page)** New step fixing the page that previously redirected to login. chore(library): update routes, redirects, and naming (#48668)
Our UI Library registry is expanding to include blocks that go beyond UI and in some cases focus purely on back-end. This PR is a precursor to adding more back-end related blocks. This PR includes the `ui-library -> library` rename plus redirects and small UI copy updates. Since this is a rename we'll need to update Vercel configuration. ## Vercel rollout Keep the Library project Root Directory as `apps/ui-library` 1. In the **Library** Vercel project, set: `NEXT_PUBLIC_BASE_PATH=/library` Apply it to Preview and Production, then redeploy the Library project. 2. In the **www** Vercel project, add: `NEXT_PUBLIC_LIBRARY_URL=<current value of NEXT_PUBLIC_UI_LIBRARY_URL>` Apply it to Preview and Production. Keep `NEXT_PUBLIC_UI_LIBRARY_URL` during the migration, then redeploy the www project. 3. Deploy in this order: 1. Library project 2. www project 4. Validate: - `/library` - `/library/docs/nextjs/password-based-auth` - `/ui` redirects to `/library` - `/ui/docs/nextjs/password-based-auth` redirects to `/library/docs/nextjs/password-based-auth` - `/ui/docs/ai-editors-rules/*` still uses its existing Docs redirects No Vercel dashboard redirect rules are needed. Environment-variable changes require a new deployment. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Supabase UI Library has been renamed to **Supabase Library** across navigation, pages, documentation, and resource links. * The Library is now available at `/library`, with updated descriptions covering components, blocks, and developer tools. * **Bug Fixes** * Added permanent redirects from legacy `/ui` URLs to corresponding `/library` paths. * Updated links throughout the site and documentation to prevent broken navigation and references. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

docs: lead self-hosting overview with what/why/CTA, restructure secondary content (#48415)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs restructure of the self-hosting overview: short fit intro, Get started / community listings above the fold, parallel h2 sections for how self-hosting differs (including local development), responsibilities, and telemetry, plus a streamlined support listing with better card content. Closes DOCS-1251. ## What is the current behavior? - Linear item: Explore two PR approaches for the self-hosting page - The self-hosting overview page (`/guides/self-hosting`) is the top search hit for "supabase self-hosting," but reads as a wall of text: three full prose/bullet sections (differs / responsibilities / telemetry) come before the getting-started CTA, which is buried as one small card partway down the page. ## What is the new behavior? - Short fit intro; `self-hosting-get-started` and `self-hosting-community` listings sit directly under the intro. - Top-level h2s for how self-hosting differs, responsibilities, telemetry, and support (no "More about self-hosting" wrapper). - Under differs: rewritten single-project + platform-gap copy, plus `### Not the same as local development` (CLI stack is not a production self-host; points to Docker / community options). - Telemetry clarifies CLI local-dev telemetry vs Docker Compose (no phone-home). - Merged support into a single `self-hosting-support` listing; Enterprise subsection unchanged. - Minor a11y: `aria-hidden` on GlassPanel decorative icon background. ## Additional context - Worktree: `~/GitHub/supabase/supabase-worktrees/nikrichers/docs-1251-self-hosting-inform` - Review: removed the "More about self-hosting" grouping after feedback that it undersold differs / responsibilities. - Companion prototype PR 48416 is closed; this branch is the direction under review. - Verification: | Check | Result | | ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ | | `pnpm lint:mdx content/guides/self-hosting.mdx` | Pass — no errors/warnings on this file | | Vercel docs preview | Pass — full-page after screenshot captured from the preview deploy | ### Proof: intro and get-started above the fold; parallel h2s for differs, responsibilities, and telemetry **Verified:** `pnpm lint:mdx content/guides/self-hosting.mdx` (pass) · Vercel docs preview (pass) ### Before & After | [Before (production)](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/self-hosting) | [After (PR preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-1251-self-hosting-inform-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/self-hosting) | | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | ### Test plan - [ ] Visit the preview link and confirm the page opens with intro above the Get started listings - [ ] Confirm parallel h2s for differs / responsibilities / telemetry / support (no "More about self-hosting") - [ ] Confirm "Not the same as local development" distinguishes the CLI stack from self-hosting - [ ] Confirm Support and community is one card grid - [ ] Check mobile width — layout should still be usable - [ ] Confirm `/guides/self-hosting/docker` link still works <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Documentation** - Reorganized the self-hosting guide with clearer getting-started resources and community links. - Added dedicated guidance for local development, managed Supabase, telemetry, and self-hosting responsibilities. - Consolidated support resources into one section covering discussions, issues, chat, Reddit, and sharing experiences. - **Accessibility** - Marked decorative icon backgrounds as hidden from assistive technologies. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> Co-authored-by: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> |

fix(docs): resolve remaining heading-order issues found in Pass 2 diagnostic (#48664)
## Problem After merging [#48456](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/48456) (shared components) and [#48459](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/48459) (per-page content fixes), a follow-up diagnostic pass found 22 remaining heading-order violations, logged as Pass 2 in the [triage report](https://app.notion.com/p/supabase/Playwright-E2E-Triage-Reports-3ab5004b775f81e3bc60d058fa5a02c1). None of them were caught by the earlier fixes because they came from places that scan didn't check: shared partials, raw HTML heading tags written directly in MDX, and a couple of shared/interactive components rendering hardcoded heading levels. ## Solution - `_partials/social_provider_setup.mdx`: `#### Local development` → `###`, matching the `##` that always precedes it on all 14 social-login pages. - `guides/database/functions.mdx` and `guides/integrations/vercel-marketplace.mdx`: replaced raw `<h4>`/`<h5>` tags with correctly-nested real headings (`### Planets`/`### People`; `#### Deploy a Next.js app...`) — no styling workarounds needed since they nest naturally one level below their parent section. - `auth/quickstarts/{nextjs,react-native,react,astrojs}.mdx`: these 4 pages had no heading at all before the embedded `_partials/api_settings.mdx` partial's own `### Get API details` heading, so added a `## Quickstart` heading above the walkthrough to give it a valid parent. - `packages/ui`'s `Accordion` component: Radix's `AccordionPrimitive.Header` renders as an unconditional `<h3>` regardless of where the accordion is used. That's shared across Studio, www, and design-system, not just docs, and surfaced on docs' vendor-agnostic telemetry page. Now rendered via `asChild` onto a plain `div` instead, since a generic accordion has no way to know what heading level (if any) is valid in a given page. - SQL-to-REST translator tool (`/docs/guides/api/sql-to-rest`): its `Assumptions`/`FAQs` section labels were hardcoded `<h3>` with no `h2` anywhere on the page. Converted to styled spans rather than promoting to a real `<h2>`, because real h1/h2/h3 tags in this codebase force a prose font-size that utility classes can't override — promoting the tag would have visibly changed its size. - `RealtimeLimitsEstimator` (embedded on both `postgres-changes` and `benchmarks`): its 3 section headings were hardcoded `<h4>`, but the two embedding pages need different levels (h3 vs h4) for that spot to be valid — no single correct heading level. Converted to styled spans, same pattern used throughout this project for components embedded at varying heading depths. ## Manual testing 1. Check out this branch and run `pnpm dev:docs`. 2. Visit `/docs/guides/auth/social-login/auth-github` (or any other provider page) and confirm the "Local development" callout under "Find your callback URL" still looks and reads the same. 3. Visit `/docs/guides/database/functions` → "Returning data sets" tab and confirm the "Planets" / "People" table captions still look the same. 4. Visit `/docs/guides/integrations/vercel-marketplace` → "Quickstart" → "Via template" and confirm the CTA card title still looks the same. 5. Visit `/docs/guides/auth/quickstarts/nextjs` (or react-native/react/astrojs) and confirm a "Quickstart" heading now appears above the walkthrough, and "Get API details" still renders correctly further down. 6. Run `pnpm dev:design-system` and open `/design-system/docs/components/accordion` — expand/collapse an item and confirm it still animates and looks identical; inspect the DOM and confirm the trigger's wrapper is a `div`, not an `h3`. 7. Visit `/docs/guides/api/sql-to-rest`, translate any query, and confirm the "Assumptions"/"FAQs" section labels still look the same. 8. Visit `/docs/guides/realtime/postgres-changes` and `/docs/guides/realtime/benchmarks`, scroll to the connection-limits calculator, and confirm its section labels still look the same on both pages. 9. (Optional, for a full re-check) Run `pnpm e2e:docs:a11y --all` against a deployed preview of this branch — only `/docs/guides/cli` (pre-existing 404, unrelated to headings) should fail; every other page should pass. Verified with a full Playwright run against a real preview deployment: **756 passed, 1 failed** (`/docs/guides/cli`, the pre-existing unrelated 404). Zero heading-order violations remain. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **Documentation** - Added clearly labeled Quickstart sections to Astro, Next.js, React Native, and React authentication guides. - Improved heading hierarchy and formatting across social provider setup, database functions, and deployment documentation. - Updated estimator and SQL-to-REST section presentation for more consistent content structure. - **Bug Fixes** - Improved accordion trigger layout while preserving existing behavior, styling, accessibility, and icon display. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

spike(docs): chunk Management API reference into one page per endpoint (#48547)
## I have read the CONTRIBUTING.md file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? This is an experimental spike that splits the Management API reference into one statically-generated page per endpoint, instead of the single monolithic page that currently renders all ~172 operations at `/reference/api`. Relates to DOCS-1268. ## What is the current behavior? - Linear item: Spike: chunk Management API reference into one page per endpoint - `/reference/api/introduction` (and every other API deep link) renders one ~35MB page containing all 172 endpoints, per `known-issues.md`'s "Reference page length" note — a known UX/LLM issue with no per-endpoint pages today - All API reference "navigation" is actually `preventDefault` + `pushState` + `scrollIntoView` within that one page (see `Reference.navigation.client.tsx`) ## What is the new behavior? - New `generateStaticParamsForApi()` in `Reference.utils.ts` emits one static param per API operation slug (~172 pages), independent of the SDK static-params generator - Fixed the permanent `/docs/reference/api` -> `/docs/reference/api/start` redirect in `apps/www/lib/redirects.js` (`start` was never a real content slug — it only worked because the old routing collapsed every sub-path to the monolith); now points straight at `introduction`, and `/start` itself still redirects there so old links/bookmarks don't 404 - `middleware.ts` only normalizes the bare `/reference/api` request now; `/reference/api/<slug>` falls through to the real per-operation page (or 404s if the slug is unknown) - `Reference.apiPage.tsx` branches on the resolved slug: no slug now redirects to `/reference/api/introduction` (the monolith-rendering branch is removed entirely — `ClientLibIntroduction`/`RefSections` are no longer used in this file), a slug renders just that one section via the existing `SectionSwitch`/`ApiEndpointSection`/`MarkdownSection` — no duplicated rendering logic - `Reference.navigation.tsx` / `Reference.navigation.client.tsx` gained an opt-in `realNavigation` prop; only the API reference's two `<ReferenceNavigation>` call sites set it, so SDK/CLI/self-hosting sidebar behavior is byte-for-byte unchanged - Per-operation page metadata (title/description/canonical URL) ### Explicitly out of scope for this spike - `internals/generate-reference-markdown.ts` (the LLM `api.md` export) — still a single file, not split per endpoint - Any change to SDK, CLI, or self-hosting reference rendering or navigation - A hypothetical 2+-segment API path (`/reference/api/foo/bar`) previously collapsed silently to the monolith; it now 404s. Not reachable by any existing internal link today. ## Additional context - Worktree: `~/GitHub/supabase/supabase-worktrees/nrichers/nikrichers/docs-1268-spike-chunk-management-api-reference-into-one-page-per` - Verification: | Check | Result | | --- | --- | | `pnpm typecheck` (apps/docs) | ✅ pass | | `GET /reference/api` (bare) | ✅ 307, redirects to `/reference/api/introduction` (monolith removed) | | `GET /reference/api/introduction` | ✅ 200, new chunked page | | `GET /reference/api/v1-get-performance-advisors` | ✅ 200, new chunked page — confirmed via content size (~1.5MB vs ~35.5MB monolith) and heading-count diffing that only one operation renders | | `GET /reference/api/not-a-real-slug` | ✅ 404, confirms new static params + `dynamicParams=false` work as designed | | `GET /reference/cli`, `GET /reference/self-hosting-storage` | ✅ 200, unaffected — same shared nav components, no `realNavigation` passed | | `GET /reference/javascript`, `GET /reference/python` | ⚠️ 404 locally — not a regression; these need `codegen:references:new` output + `dev:secrets:pull` (internal env vars) that weren't run in this sandbox, unrelated to any file this PR touches | ### Before & After **Example (left: prod; right: PR)** <img width="2664" height="1667" 173 API reference sections (Introduction + 172 operations). The bare-route link now redirects to Introduction on *both* sides (production already did via the `apps/www` fix earlier in this PR; the preview now matches, since the monolith-rendering branch is removed). For the other 173 links, production still resolves every one to today's same ~35MB monolith (all 172 endpoints on one page, regardless of which slug you clicked), while the preview serves each as its own individual per-endpoint page — click through any pair to compare page weight/content directly. ### Test plan - [ ] Open the PR preview and confirm `/reference/api/introduction` and a handful of `/reference/api/<operation-slug>` URLs render as individual pages (not the full monolith) - [ ] Confirm the API reference sidebar navigates between real pages (URL changes, page reloads) without console errors - [ ] Confirm `/reference/javascript/...`, `/reference/cli`, and `/reference/self-hosting-*` render exactly as they do on production (no regression) - [ ] Confirm `/reference/api` (bare) now redirects to `/reference/api/introduction` instead of rendering all 172 operations <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added individual pages for Management API operations with operation-specific titles, descriptions, metadata, and share previews. * API reference navigation now supports full page navigation between sections and operations. * **Bug Fixes** * Updated API reference routing to preserve direct links to operation pages. * Unknown API operations now return a not-found page. * **Documentation** * Updated Management API links and redirects to use the new API introduction page. * Bare API reference URLs now redirect to the introduction. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

Add Elastic Tile to Supabase Metrics API page (#48564)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Feature ## What is the current behavior? Elastic is not added as a tile in metrics API page. ## What is the new behavior? Now Elastic is supporting Supabase metrcis ingestion, hence it should be listed in the Metrics page. ![Uploading Screenshot 2026-08-03 at 4.31.46 PM.png…]() <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit - **New Features** - Added Elastic as a supported metrics integration in the documentation. - Added an Elastic integration card with community labeling and a link to Elastic’s documentation. - Added Elastic to the monitoring metrics navigation and Metrics API guide resources. - Added Elastic branding and iconography to the metrics integration listings for easier recognition. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Miranda Limonczenko <miranda.limonczenko@supabase.io> |

docs(security): add GDPR, ISO 27001, and DDoS coverage to security guide (#48449)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? This is a docs-only content update to the `/docs/guides/security` landing page and its neighboring guides. It adds a dedicated GDPR compliance guide, and surfaces ISO 27001 and DDoS protection coverage that Supabase already provides but wasn't listed anywhere in the docs security guide. Closes DOCS-354. ## What is the current behavior? - In `/docs/guides/security`, there is no mention of GDPR, ISO 27001 or DPA request potential, despite Supabase docs covering these partially in one place or another. - Confirmed by auditing `apps/docs/content/`: zero mentions of GDPR/data residency, zero DPA content or link to `/legal/dpa`, zero ISO 27001 mentions, and only incidental/wrong-audience mentions of DDoS protection (a pen-testing exclusion, a Storage CDN aside, a fail2ban troubleshooting article for banned users). - `regions.mdx` only frames region choice as a performance decision, with no data-residency/compliance angle. - This is a parallel docs-side counterpart to #48403 (marketing `/security` page content additions), which is adding the same GDPR/Data Residency/DPA/DDoS topics on `apps/www`. This PR does not modify `apps/www` — see that PR for the marketing-page changes. ## What is the new behavior? - New guide: `apps/docs/content/guides/security/gdpr-compliance.mdx` covering data residency (including the nuance that the "Europe" general region grouping includes non-EU jurisdictions UK and Switzerland) and the Data Processing Agreement (DPA), linked to `/legal/dpa`. - Added to the sidebar nav under Security → Compliance, alongside SOC 2 and HIPAA. - `apps/docs/content/guides/security.mdx`: added an ISO 27001 paragraph (dashboard certificate link, matching the existing SOC 2/HIPAA pattern) and a GDPR pointer paragraph to `## Compliance`; added a DDoS protection paragraph (Cloudflare CDN + fail2ban) to `## Platform configuration`. - `apps/docs/content/guides/platform/regions.mdx`: added a "Data residency" section clarifying that general region groupings may span non-matching jurisdictions, and specific regions should be used when strict jurisdictional residency is required. ## Additional context - Worktree: `~/GitHub/supabase/supabase-worktrees/nikrichers/docs-354-security-landing-page` - Note: Supabase's subprocessor list was considered for the GDPR guide but omitted — both candidate links (`/legal/customer-resources/subprocessor-list` and `/legal/privacy#subprocessors`) are not yet publishable/live. Follow up once Legal publishes that page. **Verification:** | Check | Result | | ------------------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | `pnpm lint:mdx` on changed/new files | Pass (0 errors, 0 warnings on touched files) | | `pnpm build:guides-markdown` | Fails on `master` too (unrelated missing `ai-skills.json` generated file) — not caused by this change | | Local render (`pnpm dev:docs`) | All three pages return 200; new copy, nav entry, and all links/anchors verified to resolve | ### Proof: Reviewers should believe: the security landing page and regions guide now list GDPR/ISO 27001/DDoS coverage that was previously missing, and the new GDPR guide renders correctly with working links, where before it 404'd. ### Before & After **`/docs/guides/security`** — ISO 27001, GDPR, and DDoS paragraphs now present: | [Before (production)](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/security) | [After (PR preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-354-security-landing-page-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/security) | | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | **`/docs/guides/platform/regions`** — new "Data residency" section: | [Before (production)](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/platform/regions) | [After (PR preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-354-security-landing-page-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/platform/regions) | | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | **`/docs/guides/security/gdpr-compliance`** — net-new page, no production URL exists yet (404 before this PR): | Before (production) | [After (PR preview)](https://docs-git-nikrichers-docs-354-security-landing-page-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/security/gdpr-compliance) | | ------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | | | ### Test plan ```text - [ ] Visit /docs/guides/security — confirm ISO 27001, GDPR, and DDoS paragraphs render under the right headings - [ ] Visit /docs/guides/security/gdpr-compliance — confirm it renders and appears in the sidebar under Compliance (next to SOC 2, HIPAA) - [ ] Visit /docs/guides/platform/regions — confirm the new "Data residency" section renders before "General regions" - [ ] Confirm links resolve: /docs/guides/security/gdpr-compliance, /docs/guides/platform/regions#specific-regions, /legal/dpa, /dashboard/org/_/documents ``` <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit ## Documentation - Added a GDPR Compliance entry to the Compliance navigation. - Updated security documentation with ISO 27001 certification details, clearer GDPR guidance, and expanded protection information. - Clarified regional data residency guidance, including primary project data and GDPR considerations. - Made minor wording and formatting improvements to the GDPR compliance guide. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Nik Richers <nik@validmind.ai> |

docs: fix quickstart catalog gaps (#48618)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Docs update. Getting Started page is the most visited page in the docs at the moment: https://supabase.com/docs/guides/getting-started. Looking at all 19 guides, they appear to have drifted apart because there was never a written standard for what a quickstart must contain. Additionally, we are missing some frameworks, languages, and ORMs quickstarts. Phase 1 (this PR) fixes broken numbering, duplicated steps, and dead-end pages. Later phases bring all 19 guides into line with a single "definition of done" contract (error handling in samples, env vars everywhere, consistent Connect-panel pattern). The end goal is that every quickstart, regardless of framework, gives the same complete, trustworthy path from zero to a working app. ## What is the new behavior? 1. SvelteKit and Hono cards added to the [homepage grid](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs) (FrameworkQuickstarts.tsx). Only added the most popular missing frameworks to the grid. 2. [Rails](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/ruby-on-rails#2-install-agent-skills-optional): Add missing second step (Agent Skills), add next steps at the end (point 6) 3. [Laravel](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/laravel#6-set-up-the-postgres-connection-details): Remove duplicated instruction to create project from step 6. 4. [Refine](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/refine#5-update-supabaseclient-with-environment-variables): In step 5, create .env file (VITE_SUPABASE_URL, VITE_SUPABASE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY), and the client reads them via import.meta.env, matching the Vite-based refine-supabase preset. 5. [Hono](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/hono#6-set-up-the-required-environment-variables) TODO resolved: In step 6, add the "Open Connect panel" Button with the generic api_settings.mdx partial call, identical to the Flask and Expo pattern. 6. Next steps added to the 9 guides missing it at the end of the guide, linking to the framework tutorial or Auth, UI components, data import, and Storage (Flutter, Kotlin, Laravel, Nuxt, RedwoodJS, Refine, Ruby on Rails, SolidJS, and Vue). 7. Remove 4 stale screenshots from RedwoodJS and Refine, along with their now-orphaned image assets under apps/docs/public/img/. The surrounding text already covers what they showed; they weren't Connect-panel screens, so the Button pattern didn't apply as a replacement. 8. Add [Supabase Agent Skills](https://docs-git-docs-fix-quickstart-catalog-gaps-supabase.vercel.app/docs/guides/getting-started/quickstarts/nextjs#4-install-agent-skills-optional) purpose and benefits for the user 9. Start all guides from creating Supabase project ## Additional context Add any other context or screenshots. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit ## Documentation - Added SvelteKit and Hono quickstarts with icons and documentation links. - Expanded Agent Skills guidance across framework quickstarts, including current authentication, SSR, and migration patterns. - Improved project creation, Connect panel, API configuration, and credential setup instructions. - Added framework-specific “Next steps” resources for Auth, database imports, Storage, UI components, and libraries. - Clarified PostgreSQL SSL, password encoding, connection, and environment-variable requirements. - Replaced outdated screenshots with clearer setup guidance and relevant examples. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |
