feat(telemetry): fix creation-funnel tracking gaps (#47386)
## Summary The creation-funnel instrumentation that shipped Jun 25 (#47291, #47293) had real gaps, surfaced by the weekly telemetry audit and confirmed against production PostHog data before I touched code. The two automated reports also contradicted each other on `errorReason`; I checked production (every value is a controlled slug) and the emit path (only `useTrackFunnelError` sets it, and it only accepts classified slugs), so I left the type as-is rather than add a cross-package abstraction for a risk that cannot occur today. ## Changes - Classify HTTP 401/403/404 API errors as `unauthorized` / `forbidden` / `not_found` instead of the catch-all `other`. In production the `org_creation` `other` bucket was ~96% 401s (~1,300 real over 4 days), invisible in reason breakdowns. The status-code fallback runs after the message-pattern match, so specific reasons still win and it only rescues errors that would otherwise be `other`. - Add a single `tier` property (`tier_free` / `tier_pro` / `tier_payg` / `tier_team`) to `organization_creation_completed`, which previously carried no properties. One canonical billing slug (matching `SubscriptionTier`) instead of two overlapping plan/tier fields, so the org-creation funnel segments cleanly by tier and joins against subscription data. `tier_payg` is uncapped PRO. - Freeze the submitted tier at submit time (snapshot in `createOrg`) rather than reading live form state in the success callback, so the event records the tier that was actually created even if the user edits the form during the async payment flow. - Emit `project_creation_form_exposed` with `surface: 'vercel'` on the integration deploy-button project-creation page (the enum value existed but was never fired). Gated on the URL `slug` so the impression is captured as soon as the form renders, matching the sibling exposure hook on that page. I also checked the confirm-modal error path flagged in the insights post: it already classifies via the shared `useProjectCreateMutation.onError`, so adding instrumentation there would double-count. No change made. ## Testing These are analytics events with no UI change, so correctness is in what lands in PostHog. Post-deploy validation I will run against production (project 34344): - `dashboard_error_created` where `origin='org_creation'` and `errorReason='other'` drops ~96%, with `unauthorized` / `not_found` appearing. - `organization_creation_completed.tier` populated on 100% of new events with one of the four tier slugs. - `project_creation_form_exposed` with `surface='vercel'` goes from 0 to greater than 0. ## Linear - fixes GROWTH-948 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added telemetry for organization creation completion that includes the selected billing tier. * Added one-time telemetry when the Vercel project creation form is exposed. * **Bug Fixes** * Improved API error classification to more accurately distinguish unauthorized, forbidden, and not found responses. * **Documentation** * Updated telemetry event definitions to require tier metadata for organization creation events. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

feat(studio): add feature to rewrite queries DEBUG-145 (#47266)
## Problem Moving the Logs Explorer to ClickHouse means users' saved BigQuery queries no longer run. <img width="2430" height="1010" alt="CleanShot 2026-06-29 at 11 36 04@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/ae0ab155-7d3d-4ae9-81c3-22bf3a88cf8c" /> ## Fix Rewrite the query with AI instead of a SQL transpiler. AI handles the long tail of nested fields and dialect differences far better than a rule-based rewriter, and it needs no extra runtime dependency. - `rewriteLogsSqlWithAI` posts the current query to `/api/ai/code/complete` with `dialect: 'clickhouse'`. The endpoint skips the Postgres schema and best-practices for that dialect and uses logs-specific instructions and model so the output is ClickHouse logs SQL (FROM `logs` + `source` filter, no `unnest` joins, nested fields read from `log_attributes['...']`). - The query's `source` is detected and its real `log_attributes` keys are fetched and passed to the model, so it maps to exact paths instead of guessing. - The rewrite runs in the background and is proposed as a side-by-side accept/discard diff in the editor. The AI Assistant panel is not opened. - Entry points: a banner shown only for legacy-looking queries (dismissal persisted), and a "Fix Query" button next to Field Reference. - The Field Reference drawers discover `log_attributes` keys from real data so the listed fields match what the source actually emits. ## Dependencies Built on top of #47265 (Logs Explorer -> OTEL endpoint) — that is the base branch of this PR. Merge #47265 first. Behind `otelLegacyLogs` (off by default). Part of DEBUG-145 (split from #47087). ## How to test - Open the Logs Explorer with a BigQuery logs query (the templates have some), click "Fix Query", and confirm the diff shows valid ClickHouse SQL. Accept it and confirm the applied query runs. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added an OTEL legacy logs workflow (behind a feature flag) with an interactive banner and a “Fix Query” ClickHouse rewrite action, including an accept/discard diff review overlay. * Introduced OTEL-aware field reference rendering with dynamic discovery of `log_attributes` keys and updated OTEL source insertion behavior. * Enabled dialect-aware SQL completion for ClickHouse logs, using logs-specific instructions and output constraints. * **Bug Fixes** * Improved rewrite flow validation and handling, including log source detection and cleanup of AI-generated SQL formatting. * **Tests** * Added Vitest coverage for rewrite prompt generation, detection/classification utilities, SQL fence stripping, OTEL field mapping, and OTEL log attribute key discovery. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Joshen Lim <joshenlimek@gmail.com> |

refactor(studio): extract SQL editor save mechanism + model folder lifecycle (4/9) (#47276)
## What
PR 4 of a stacked refactor of the SQL editor snippet/folder state. It
pulls the persistence logic out of the store into an injectable
mechanism, and replaces the folder `'new-folder'` id sentinel with an
explicit lifecycle — plus a concurrency bug fix that surfaced along the
way.
### Save mechanism (`sql-editor-save.ts`)
`createSaveMechanism({ state, upsertContent, createSQLSnippetFolder,
updateSQLSnippetFolder, invalidate, notify, debounceMs })` → `{
saveSnippet, createFolder, updateFolder }`. The store's subscribe now
dispatches to it; *when* to save still lives in the subscribe (the
scheduler/provider move is PR 5). Per-id debounce cache lives in the
factory closure (no module-global leak).
- **`saveSnippet`** reads the live store snippet, guards
`isLoadedSnippet` so a content-less snippet can **never PUT an empty
body** (directly unit-tested), then builds the payload + drives status
transitions + gated invalidation.
- **`toast` is injected** as a `Notifier` (new generic DI contract in
`lib/notifier.ts`) — the mechanism no longer imports sonner.
- **create vs rename are two named-arg functions**, not an `isNew`
branch; rollback is deterministic per operation instead of matching on
`error.message` text.
- **caught errors are `unknown`**, narrowed via the existing
`getErrorMessage` util with a generic fallback — no `any`.
### Folder lifecycle (replaces the `NEW_FOLDER_ID` sentinel)
- **`FolderStatus`** enum (`new_editing | new_saving | editing | saving
| idle`) collapses the persistence and progress axes into one enum —
same pattern as `SnippetStatus` — with `isNewFolder` / `isFolderEditing`
/ `isFolderSaving` predicates. Tagging a folder as new/persisted is now
an explicit field, not an id convention.
- New placeholders get a **unique local id** (`crypto.randomUUID`);
`NEW_FOLDER_ID` is deleted, which also lifts the accidental
one-unsaved-folder-at-a-time limit.
### Bug fix: folder-rename rollback race
The shared `lastUpdatedFolderName` field let two in-flight renames
clobber each other's rollback target (and a shared `finally` could wipe
it). Replaced by a **per-folder `previousName`** on
`StateSnippetFolder`, so concurrent renames of different folders are
isolated. A new test runs two failing renames concurrently and asserts
each restores its own previous name.
## Tests
`sql-editor-save.test.ts` (mechanism — fakes + fake timers, incl.
content-less no-PUT and concurrent-rename isolation) and
folder-lifecycle predicate tests. `pnpm --filter studio typecheck`
clean; 82 state/sql-editor unit tests pass.

feat(telemetry): classify funnel creation errors (#47293)
## Summary The KPI-3 friction dashboard needs to know *why* users hit errors on the signup, project-creation, and org-creation funnels, not just that they did. The existing `dashboard_error_created` event already fires for these paths (10% sampled, with `$pathname`), but carries no reason: ~98.5% of events have no `errorType` and no property carries an error message. This adds PII-safe classification computed client-side from a controlled vocabulary, so raw error text never leaves the browser. Validation errors (previously invisible, since they are inline form errors that never raise a toast) are now captured on invalid submit. ## Changes - Extend `dashboard_error_created` with `origin`, `errorCategory`, `errorReason`, `errorCode`, and a `form` source value - Add a pure, unit-tested classifier (`funnel-errors.ts`) and a 10%-sampled tracking hook (`use-track-funnel-error.ts`); the classifier maps errors to stable slugs and emits only slugs + HTTP status, never raw message text - Classify signup errors (API failures + validation) in `SignUpForm` - Classify project-creation errors (API failures, OrioleDB guard, validation) in the new-project wizard - Classify org-creation errors (API failures, payment/card declines, confirm-subscription, validation) in `NewOrgForm` ## Testing 13 unit tests cover every classifier branch (validation / api / network / payment, status-code handling, message-pattern matching, and fallbacks). To verify on the Vercel preview (events are 10% sampled; set the sample rate to 1 locally to observe each fire): - Signup with a weak but non-empty password: `origin=signup, source=form, errorCategory=validation, errorReason=password_invalid` - Signup with an already-registered email: `origin=signup, source=toast, errorCategory=api, errorReason=email_already_registered` - New project with an empty name: `origin=project_creation, source=form, errorReason=project_name_invalid` - New org with an empty name: `origin=org_creation, source=form, errorReason=org_name_missing` - New org with a declined test card: `origin=org_creation, errorCategory=payment` PII: raw `error.message` is never sent; only controlled slugs and HTTP status. Dashboard consumers must filter `origin IS NOT NULL` so these do not collide with the generic toast events the global tracker still emits. ## Linear - fixes FE-3691 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added improved, categorized telemetry for signup, project creation, and organization creation errors, including payment, subscription-change, and validation failures. * Extended dashboard error events with optional structured diagnostics (origin, category, reason, and optional error code) and support for form-origin reporting. * **Bug Fixes** * Improved project-creation handling to record a validation telemetry event when an Oriole image is unavailable. * Ensured payment-related and subscription-change failures are captured consistently alongside existing user toasts. * **Tests** * Added unit tests covering API/network/validation/Stripe error classification and reason mapping. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

Check flags loaded before fetching region data (#47289)
## Context
Realised that we were calling both `useDefaultRegionQuery` and
`useOrganizationAvailableRegionsQuery` in the new project page.
`smartRegionEnabled` defaults to `false` at the beginning while the
flags are still being loaded, to this calls `useDefaultRegionQuery`. But
once the flags are loaded and `smartRegionEnabled` becomes `true`, then
the other hook is called
## Changes involved
- Checks that the flags are loaded first before calling either hooks to
prevent unnecessarily triggering both
- Adjust `defaultRegion` to remove hardcode
- Check smart region first, then default back to default specific region
- Renamed variables to be clearer:
- `autoDefaultRegion` (check based on location)
- `fixedDefaultRegion` (hardcoded in repo)
- Update `useEffect` on `regionError` to only reset the region value if
the default value is not undefined
- Also just a tiny nit to re-arrange to group the `useEffects` together
<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit
* **Bug Fixes**
* Region selection now waits for feature flags to load before fetching
default and “smart” region options, preventing premature or incorrect
region choices.
* New project setup now updates the database region and smart
recommendations more consistently, with improved fallback behavior when
region lookup fails.
* AWS Nimbus default region is now environment-aware: non-prod uses
Southeast Asia, while prod uses East US.
* Default privilege settings now stay in sync more reliably during
setup, updating only when appropriate.

build(studio): Vite/TanStack-Start build pipeline behind flag (stack 1/6, from #46424) (#47107)
**Stack 1/6** of the TanStack Start migration (#46424), split into reviewable, independently-mergeable PRs. > [!IMPORTANT] > **Next stays the default and only active framework after this PR.** This wires up the Vite/TanStack-Start build pipeline behind the `STUDIO_FRAMEWORK` flag, but there are no TanStack routes yet — so the TanStack build isn't functional or tested until later PRs in the stack. Nothing about the Next build, dev, or deploy changes behaviourally here. ## What's in this PR - **Dispatch:** `dev`/`build`/`start` now go through `scripts/dispatch.js`, which runs the Next variant unless `STUDIO_FRAMEWORK=tanstack`. The original commands are preserved as `dev:next`/`build:next`/`start:next`. - **Build pipeline:** `vite.config.ts`, `serve.js`, `smoke-server.mjs`, vite/tanstack deps, `turbo.jsonc`. - **`tsconfig.json`:** `jsx: react-jsx`, `moduleResolution: Bundler`, `target: ES2022`. Because `include` is `**/*.ts(x)`, this re-typechecks the whole app, so the companion adaptations below land with it. - **Shared adaptations (companions to the tsconfig change):** `BufferSource` casts, `packages/ui` unused-`React` import removals, etc. - **Routing/middleware plumbing:** `next.config.ts` + `redirects.shared.ts` (redirect rules now shared with `vercel.ts`), `proxy.ts`/`start.ts` middleware + `hosted-api-allowlist.ts`. ## Verification Run locally off `master`: frozen install ✓, `studio` typecheck ✓, **Next build ✓** (compiles + generates all routes), lint ratchet ✓ ("some rules improved"), prettier ✓. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added a hosted API endpoint allowlist to return 404 for non-supported `/api/*` routes. * Introduced a TanStack route-migration checklist and expanded TanStack Start routing support. * **Improvements** * Enhanced deployment refresh/detection by tightening cookie handling for “latest deployment” updates. * Centralized redirect/maintenance-mode rules for consistent platform vs self-hosted behavior. * Improved production serving with a dedicated static + proxy server and a post-build smoke test. * **Dependencies** * Updated TanStack-related packages and React Table/query tooling versions. * **Documentation / Chores** * Updated formatting and tooling config; added shared build environment parsing utilities. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Alaister Young <10985857+alaister@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Ivan Vasilov <vasilov.ivan@gmail.com> |

refactor(studio): lazy self-hosted admin client + enforce in API routes (from #46424) (#47104)
Extracted from the TanStack Start migration (#46424) to shrink that PR. The self-hosted storage/auth API routes each constructed a module-scope admin client (`createClient(process.env.SUPABASE_URL!, process.env.SUPABASE_SERVICE_KEY!)`). Those env vars only exist on self-hosted, so eager module-scope construction is wasteful on platform and fragile on any runtime that evaluates an API module before its route is hit (constructing with `undefined` credentials throws on import). **Changed:** - Add `lib/api/self-hosted-admin.ts` — `selfHostedSupabaseAdmin`, a `Proxy` that defers `createClient(...)` until first property access (inside a handler, i.e. on self-hosted where the vars are set). - Swap **all 17** storage/auth/vector-bucket handlers from module-scope `createClient(...)` to `import { selfHostedSupabaseAdmin as supabase }`. - **Enforce it:** add an eslint `no-restricted-syntax` rule banning module-scope `createClient` in `pages/api/**` + `routes/**` (now that every flagged handler is lazy). The same eslint config block also carries an analytics-SQL boundary rule — 0 violations on master. Behaviour is unchanged (the client is still built lazily inside the handler). This is also the change that makes those routes safe under TanStack's single-handler module evaluation. ## To test - Self-hosted Studio: storage buckets/objects, vector buckets, and auth users operations work as before. ## Verification studio lint (0 errors, both rules active) ✓ · studio typecheck ✓. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Refactor** * Standardized self-hosted Supabase admin client usage across platform authentication and storage endpoints, removing per-route client setup. * Improved reliability by lazily creating the admin client only when first used. * **Chores / Tooling** * Updated ESLint rules to prevent module-scope Supabase client creation in API routes and to enforce safe analytics SQL access patterns. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Alaister Young <10985857+alaister@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Ali Waseem <waseema393@gmail.com> |

fix(assistant): prevent parallel approval-required tool calls (#47008)
Addresses the issue of parallel tool approvals freezing Assistant and causing UX ambiguity around what happens if only part of multiple dependent invocations is approved. Two layers at which this is addressed: 1. Tightens prompt to clarify approval tools must be issued one per step, not in parallel. 2. In case something slips past the prompt, this also auto-denies all but the first `approval-required` tool call when the model issues multiple in the same step, so the model is forced to reissue them sequentially. **Demo** The following chats demo me explicitly asking Assistant to run those approval-gated tools in parallel, and the Assistant correctly invokes them sequentially instead. | Parallel `execute_sql` request | Parallel `deploy_edge_function` request | |--------|--------| | <img width="1820" height="4240" alt="CleanShot 2026-06-16 at 16 20 23@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/3ddad61d-24d6-4e5b-8572-c261755f3a03" /> | <img width="1738" height="2726" alt="CleanShot 2026-06-16 at 16 22 59@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/77a0aa20-e3cb-4061-b270-ab2a96d1e64a" /> | As shown in [this trace](https://www.braintrust.dev/app/supabase.io/p/Assistant/trace?object_type=project_logs&object_id=5a8d02e5-b3b6-40cc-ba76-ecee286478f4&r=a3a37857-95df-4a95-a5a8-818ea305b2a5&s=a3a37857-95df-4a95-a5a8-818ea305b2a5), parallel tool calls are still allowed for context gathering tools that don't require approval: <img width="1051" height="517" alt="CleanShot 2026-06-16 at 16 25 42@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/00d208b1-6131-4b8e-910e-e92fd2a79a5b" /> Closes AI-803 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Improvements** * Approval-required operations are now processed sequentially rather than in parallel within the AI Assistant. * **Tests** * Added comprehensive test coverage for the parallel approval prevention logic. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

Consolidate execute-sql-query into execute-sql-mutation (#46944)

## Context > [!IMPORTANT] > Will open up for review once CLI PR is merged and deployed so that it's easier to test Related PR: https://github.com/supabase/cli/pull/5230 Adding support for vector buckets for local CLI - will need to be tested locally via `pnpm run dev:studio-local` ## To test There's a bit of testing instructions in the linear ticket [here](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/FE-3474/show-vector-buckets-in-local-admin-studio) as it involves using a branch of CLI - otherwise do reach out to Fabrizio if any help might be needed, but generally: ### Local CLI You might need to manually set `isCli` to `true` in `StorageMenuV2` if the "Vectors" nav item isn't showing up on the storage UI given we're testing via `pnpm run dev:studio-local` - [x] Can create bucket - [x] Can delete bucket - [x] Can create indexes - [x] Can insert data into indexes (via FDW) - [x] Can delete indexes Known issues (that aren't directly solvable from FE end) Reach out to Fabrizio for context as we were both investigating this - PG database needs to be on 17.6 (otherwise there's no S3 vectors FDW) - Storage version needs to be on 1.59.0 ### Self-hosted (This might be tricky to actually test, but just ensure that the code satisfies this) - [x] Cannot see vector buckets ### Hosted - [x] Everything works status quo <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Vector bucket management UI and platform APIs (create/list/delete buckets & indexes) * Local S3 credentials endpoint and client-side hook for self‑hosted/CLI use * **Bug Fixes** * Improved S3 vector setup notifications and clearer error guidance for manual installation * **Refactor** * Deployment-mode gating: platform vs CLI/self‑hosted now controls feature visibility and page behavior * **Tests** * Added suites covering deployment-mode gates and vector bucket error/usage scenarios * **Chores** * Build env updated to expose local S3 credential vars <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/46381?utm_source=github_walkthrough&utm_medium=github&utm_campaign=change_stack) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Ali Waseem <waseema393@gmail.com> |

feat(ai): judge tool inputs, add storage guidance and permissive RLS evals (#46168)
Adding broad RLS policies to public buckets can cause users to expose more than they expected, like the ability to list all profile pictures on an app. This patches Assistant with knowledge to follow our latest guidance on restrictive RLS policies for storage buckets https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/46172 **Changes** - Adds Storage bucket evals for public website assets and avatar access patterns to distinguish public vs private bucket use cases - Adds eval for overly permissive table policies - Adds `storage` knowledge so Assistant distinguishes public buckets, private buckets, object reads, and object listing. - Adds `includeToolCallInputs` option for scorer transcripts so LLM judges can evaluate proposed SQL/tool actions. - Bumps max step count to 10 since storage knowledge may incur another tool call (also 10 is recommended [here](https://vercel.com/academy/ai-sdk/multi-step-and-generative-ui#why-multi-step-is-required) for complex multi-tool scenarios) **References** - https://supabase.com/docs/guides/storage/buckets/fundamentals#public-buckets - https://supabase.com/docs/guides/storage/security/access-control - https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/46172 **Notes:** - These prompt tweaks are not meant to be exhaustive fixes, they are mainly hotfixes intended to hold us out until these cases can be addressed more deeply in skills/docs and tracked in a central evals Closes AI-676 Closes AI-756 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added Storage knowledge resource for the assistant covering Supabase Storage access patterns and RLS guidance. * Added three evaluation cases: two for Storage (marketing assets, avatars) and one for RLS policy generation for user profiles. * **Improvements** * Evaluators now include tool call inputs when judging conversations. * Assistant prompts and generation enhanced with richer Storage/RLS guidance and extended streaming limits. * **Tests** * Added test ensuring tool call inputs are included in serialized thread context. <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/46168?utm_source=github_walkthrough&utm_medium=github&utm_campaign=change_stack) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(studio): make useTrack stable across renders (#46412)
Follow-up to #46140 — the returned `track` function was re-created on every router change or selected project/org refetch, which made it unstable for consumers that depend on referential equality (e.g. effect deps, memoized children). **Changed:** - Read `project?.ref`, `org?.slug`, and `router.pathname` through `useLatest` so the values inside `track` stay current without being deps of the `useCallback` - Drop the deps from the `useCallback` — `track` is now stable for the lifetime of the component ## To test - Verify telemetry events still send with correct `project` / `organization` groups and `pathname` - Confirm any consumers that put `track` in `useEffect` deps no longer re-run unnecessarily on route or project changes <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Refactor** * Improved telemetry event tracking to capture more accurate context information at the time events are sent, ensuring data reflects current application state. <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/46412?utm_source=github_walkthrough&utm_medium=github&utm_campaign=change_stack) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> Co-authored-by: Alaister Young <10985857+alaister@users.noreply.github.com> |

refactor(studio): migrate telemetry to useTrack (#46140)
## Summary
I migrated every `useSendEventMutation` call site in `apps/studio` to
`useTrack`, deleted the legacy hook, and added a lint guardrail so it
can't return. `useTrack` is the type-safe replacement: it auto-injects
`groups: { project, organization }` from the selected project/org and
types `action` + `properties` against `TelemetryEvent`. Existing call
sites built groups manually and were not type-checked at the action
level. The migration covers 81 files (60 trivial swaps, 9 org-only, 3
pre-auth, 5 bespoke, 4 test mocks).
## Changes
- Migrated trivial call sites across `pages/project/[ref]`,
`components/interfaces/*` (Reports, Storage, Realtime/Inspector,
SQLEditor, Functions, EdgeFunctions, Integrations, ProjectAPIDocs,
Branching/BranchManagement, TableGridEditor, Connect, Docs, Auth,
Support, Home, ProjectHome, App), `components/layouts/*`, and
`components/ui/*`.
- Migrated org-only sites (`Organization/Documents/*`,
`Organization/BillingSettings/Subscription/*`,
`Organization/SecuritySettings.tsx`,
`Account/Preferences/DashboardSettingsToggles.tsx`) by dropping the
manual `groups: { organization: ... }` and letting `useTrack`
auto-inject. Verified `useSelectedProjectQuery` is disabled on org
routes (gates on URL `[ref]`).
- Migrated pre-auth sites (`SignInForm.tsx`, `sign-in-mfa.tsx`,
`profile.tsx`) where neither project nor org is resolved.
- Bespoke handling:
- `execute-sql-mutation.ts` and `table-row-create-mutation.ts`: pass `{
project: projectRef }` via `groupOverrides` since the mutation can
target a non-selected project ref.
- `useStudioCommandMenuTelemetry.ts`: kept a direct `sendTelemetryEvent`
call because studio groups must override pre-built event groups
(opposite of `useTrack`'s override direction).
- `AIAssistantOption.tsx`: passes sentinel-aware `groupOverrides` so
`NO_PROJECT_MARKER`/`NO_ORG_MARKER` continue to suppress group emission.
- `SidePanelEditor.utils.tsx`: utility functions `createTable` and
`updateTable` now take a `track: Track` parameter (threaded from
`SidePanelEditor.tsx`); dropped the `organizationSlug` arg since groups
are no longer assembled manually.
- Branch-event attribution: preserved `parentProjectRef` overrides on
`branch_updated`, `branch_merge_completed`, `branch_merge_failed`,
`branch_merge_submitted`, `branch_delete_button_clicked`,
`branch_review_with_assistant_clicked`, and
`branch_*_merge_request_button_clicked`. Original code grouped these
under the parent (production) project, not the branch ref;
auto-injection would have shifted them onto the branch.
- Switched 4 test mocks from `@/data/telemetry/send-event-mutation` to
`@/lib/telemetry/track`. Removed obsolete tests around manual groups and
`try/catch` on telemetry rejection.
- Deleted `apps/studio/data/telemetry/send-event-mutation.ts`. The
deleted module is its own guardrail: any reintroduction of the import
fails at TypeScript module resolution before lint runs.
## Testing
Tested on preview deploy:
- [x] SQL editor `CREATE TABLE` fires `table_created` with method
`sql_editor` and `groups.project` set to the mutation's `projectRef`.
- [x] Table editor creates a table from the side panel; `table_created`
fires from `SidePanelEditor.utils` via threaded `track`.
- [x] Help button (`/project/[ref]/...`) fires `help_button_clicked`
with auto-injected project + org groups.
- [x] Sign-in form fires `sign_in` with empty groups (pre-auth,
expected).
- [x] Org documents page (`/org/[slug]/documents`) fires
`document_view_button_clicked` with org group only, no stale project
ref.
- [x] Command menu (`Cmd+K`) inside a project still fires
`command_menu_opened` with studio's project/org overriding any
event-supplied groups.
- [x] Support form "Ask the Assistant" without selected org fires
`ai_assistant_in_support_form_clicked` with no project/org groups
(sentinels suppress).
- [x] On a branch, "Update branch" / "Merge branch" / "Close merge
request" events fire with `groups.project` set to the parent project
ref, not the branch ref.
Local checks:
- [x] 22/22 tests pass across the 4 updated test files
(`SidePanelEditor.utils.createTable`, `EdgeFunctionRenderer`,
`LayoutSidebar`, `PlanUpdateSidePanel`).
- [x] `rg useSendEventMutation apps/studio` returns 0 hits.

Fix for AI Assistant query and deploy confirmation (#46052)
When Assistant requests confirmation to run a query or deploy an edge function if the user doesn't skip or run and instead sends a follow-up message it errors out. This allows follow-up messages and treats them as "skips" which means adjusting confirmation message state as part of the follow-up. This also uses toModelOutput to cleanse data based on permissions. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit ## Release Notes * **New Features** * Enhanced tool approval workflow: pending approvals are now automatically resolved as denied when submitting new messages * Improved chat input state management with better handling of approval states * Customizable loading messages for tool operations * **Bug Fixes** * Fixed chat input availability during pending tool approval states * Improved tool execution feedback during approval workflows <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/46052?utm_source=github_walkthrough&utm_medium=github&utm_campaign=change_stack) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(ai): contextualize cron schedule as SQL writes, score in "Tool Usage" (#45997)
When Assistant tries to schedule crons in read-only mode, it succeeds but creates the jobs under the `supabase_read_only_user`. This causes permission errors when user try to delete or unschedule them from the Cron dashboard. The root fix will be to enforce read-only transactions for that user. In the meantime, this PR steers Assistant to avoid the mistake. **Changes** - Prompts `execute_sql` to treat side-effecting function calls such as `cron.schedule()` as write queries. - Adds tool input assertions for "Tool Usage" scorer and a focused cron regression eval. - Updates eval mocks to show pg_cron extension as installed so it can call `cron.schedule()` **Verification** See [this trace](https://www.braintrust.dev/app/supabase.io/p/Assistant/trace?object_type=experiment&object_id=4a9e8c0e-83b7-4555-8502-365662c3ec8e&r=e041e69b-b70f-41d1-b88c-e8f7888c3de5&s=e041e69b-b70f-41d1-b88c-e8f7888c3de5) from Braintrust where the new eval passes "Tool Usage", correctly using `isWriteQuery` for the `cron.schedule()` Closes AI-737 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Tool evaluation now validates tool inputs (including exact and substring matches) in addition to tool presence. * **Tests** * Added a test confirming cron-scheduling behavior and that SQL scheduling/enqueue calls are treated as write operations. * **Chores** * Added pg_cron to mock extension data. * Clarified description that SQL calls with side effects should be treated as writes. <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/45997?utm_source=github_walkthrough&utm_medium=github&utm_campaign=change_stack) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

fix(studio): improve memory and swap units in DB reports (#45889)
Fixes [DEBUG-94](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DEBUG-94) ## Summary - **Min MB units**: Added \`formatBytesMinMB\` helper that always formats byte values in at least MB. Applied to RAM and swap y-axis tick formatters, tooltips, and chart headers. - **Swap chart scale**: Every Supabase compute instance is provisioned with **1 GB of swap regardless of size** (per [docs](https://supabase.com/docs/guides/troubleshooting/memory-and-swap-usage-explained-aPNgm0)), so the swap y-axis always shows at least 0 to 1 GB. Low swap usage no longer fills the full chart height. Removed the show/hide limit toggle since the limit is implicit in the y-axis scale. - **Swap units in header/tooltip**: Fixed all three formatters (initial header, hover-sync header, tooltip) to use \`formatBytesMinMB\` for swap so the value always shows a unit like "2.00 MB". - **Reference-line defensive fix**: Added a \`customValue\` fallback in \`useAttributeQueries\` so future reference-line attributes that use \`customValue\` instead of \`value\` are not silently overwritten to 0. ## Test plan - [ ] Open DB Reports and verify RAM/Swap y-axis labels show MB (or GB for large values), never KB or bytes - [ ] Hover a bar in the swap chart and verify tooltip and header show the same value with a unit (e.g. "2.00 MB") - [ ] With low or zero swap usage, the chart bars are flat and the y-axis goes 0 to 1 GB - [ ] CPU chart limit toggle still renders at 100% (regression check on the \`useAttributeQueries\` fallback change) 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.ai/claude-code) --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> |

studio: flip executeSql signature to SafeSqlFragment (7/7) (#46007)
## Summary Final PR in the SafeSql migration stack. Stacked on top of #46006. Tightens `executeSql`'s `sql` parameter from `string` to `SafeSqlFragment`. Any future raw-string caller is now a compile error — the SafeSql safety property becomes structural rather than convention-based. Also adapts the AI `execute_sql` tool to promote AI-generated SQL via `acceptUntrustedSql(untrustedSql(sql))` inside the `execute` callback. The tool's existing \`needsApproval: true\` gate ensures `execute` only runs after the user has explicitly approved — that approval is the gesture that promotes untrusted to safe. ## Test plan - [x] `pnpm typecheck` passes - [x] Grep for any remaining raw-string `executeSql` calls in `apps/studio` returns nothing - [x] Dev-server smoke: AI tool approval flow executes SQL |

studio: SafeSql stragglers + remaining tests (6/7) (#46006)
## Summary Part 6 of 7 in the SafeSql migration stack. Picks up the few remaining files that didn't fit cleanly into earlier batches: - `components/Docs/Description.tsx` — comment statements built via `safeSql`. - `components/Integrations/IntegrationOverviewTabV2/InstallIntegrationSheet.test.tsx` — test fixture updated to `SafeSqlFragment`. - `lib/ai/tools/studio-tools.test.ts` — test fixture updated. - `lib/api/generate-v4.test.ts` — test fixture updated. feat(telemetry): mirror org_count to PostHog person property (#45946)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Feature + two follow-on fixes — small, scoped to telemetry / experiment plumbing. ## What is the current behavior? PostHog feature flags evaluated in Studio only have access to the `gotrue_id` person property (set in `useTelemetryIdentify`) and the `organization`/`project` group associations from pageviews. Flags can't target users by org membership without a behavioral cohort, which refreshes on a ~hourly schedule and lags behind real-time signup state. This is blocking the rollout of the `dataApiRevokeOnCreateDefault` experiment ahead of the May 30 default-privileges breaking change — we need to target brand-new dashboard signups with no prior org membership, and there's no person property to filter on. ## What is the new behavior? Three changes, scoped tightly to make experiment targeting reliable for brand-new signups: ### 1. Mirror `org_count` to a PostHog person property (`apps/studio/lib/telemetry.tsx`) The Studio `Telemetry` component now mirrors the user's current org-list length to a PostHog person property `org_count` via `posthog.identify(user.id, { org_count })`. The effect: - Subscribes to `useOrganizationsQuery` (shares the same React Query cache as `useSelectedOrganizationQuery`, so no extra network requests). - Dedupes via a ref keyed on `{ userId, orgCount }` so we only call identify when the value actually changes — handles user-switch (logout/login as different user with same count) correctly. - Generic enough to be useful beyond this experiment — analytics segmentation by org membership, future flags that depend on multi-org behavior, etc. ### 2. Merge pre-init identify properties (`packages/common/posthog-client.ts`) The previous `pendingIdentification` slot was a single-write buffer — calling `posthogClient.identify()` before the PostHog SDK initialized would overwrite any prior queued identify. Latent until this PR added a second identify caller (`org_count`), which exposed the last-write-wins behavior on first-visitor-before-consent flows. Now merges properties across pre-init calls for the same user so both `{ gotrue_id }` and `{ org_count }` land on the person record when the SDK flushes. Caught during Codex review. ### 3. Gate the exposure event on `org_count` being present (`apps/studio/hooks/misc/useDataApiRevokeOnCreateDefault.ts`) `useTrackDefaultPrivilegesExposure` previously fired on the first non-undefined value of the `dataApiRevokeOnCreateDefault` flag. For brand-new signups, this races the `org_count` identify: the initial `/flags/` response (before targeting can match) returns the untargeted variant, the exposure locks it in via `hasTracked`, then our identify fires and a subsequent `/flags/` refresh updates the flag — but the exposure has already recorded the wrong variant. Fix: gate the exposure on `org_count` being present on the SDK person, subscribing via `onFeatureFlags` so we pick up the post-identify `/flags/` response. Adds `posthogClient.getPersonProperty` as the local-state reader. Without this, the experiment would have a ~5-15% noise floor on cohort assignment for new signups. ## Verification End-to-end verified locally against the staging PostHog project (34343): - Local Studio's PostHog SDK has `$stored_person_properties: { gotrue_id: <uuid>, org_count: 1 }` after sign-in. - Both `$set` events landed server-side within ~300ms of each other, and the staging person record now shows `org_count = 1.0` with `gotrue_id` preserved. - Targeting query `person.properties.org_count == 1` works end-to-end against staging. ## Additional context Ref: [GROWTH-853](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/GROWTH-853) Targeting plan for the flag once shipped: `person.org_count == 1` plus a behavioral filter on recent `sign_up` event, at 5% rollout. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Chores** * Telemetry now records and syncs the user's organization count as an analytics person property and avoids redundant identifications when unchanged. * Analytics client now merges queued identification properties made before initialization and exposes a method to read stored person properties. * **Bug Fixes** * Tracking now waits for organization-count readiness before firing certain exposure events to prevent missing data. * **Tests** * Added/updated tests to cover person-property behavior and gating logic. <!-- review_stack_entry_start --> [](https://app.coderabbit.ai/change-stack/supabase/supabase/pull/45946) <!-- review_stack_entry_end --> <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

studio: add SafeSql foundation utilities (1/7) (#45897)
## Summary First in a stack of seven PRs migrating the remaining `executeSql` call sites to `SafeSqlFragment`. This PR lands pure additions — shared types and helpers that later PRs import. - `apps/studio/lib/postgres-types.ts` — `SafePostgresColumn` / `SafePostgresTable` wrappers over `PGColumn` / `PGTable` that brand `check` as `SafeSqlFragment` and add the optional `format_schema` field - `apps/studio/lib/sql.ts` — `trimSafeSqlFragment` overload set that preserves the brand through `.trim()` - `apps/studio/lib/type-helpers.ts` — refine `DeepReadonly` so primitives pass through unchanged - `apps/studio/components/ui/SafeSqlInput.tsx` — `<Input>` wrapper that emits `SafeSqlFragment` via `rawSql` No consumers in this PR. The next PRs in the stack pick these up. ## Stack This is PR 1 of 7. feat(assistant): trace-level scorers + server-side tool execution with needsApproval (#45654)
## Motivation When Assistant runs a potentially destructive tool like `execute_sql`, it stops the LLM request and prompts for client-side approval and execution of the tool. After approval, a second request kicks off under a separate trace. This has made scoring and [Topics](https://www.braintrust.dev/blog/topics) classification challenging, as the generated `output` is split across stateless requests. The [span-level scoring](https://www.braintrust.dev/docs/evaluate/custom-code#score-spans) approach we've used thusfar (after the LLM call, we massage the result into an `output` payload that's stuck onto the root span) has been cumbersome and led to invalid scores / topics where only part of the assistant response is considered. It's also inefficient, as we're duplicating potentially large info (like the `search_docs` output) that already exists within the trace. An alternative to scoring spans is to [score traces](https://www.braintrust.dev/docs/evaluate/custom-code#score-traces). Braintrust [best practices](https://www.braintrust.dev/docs/evaluate/score-online#best-practices) advise: > Use span scope for evaluating individual operations or outputs. Use trace scope for evaluating multi-turn conversations, overall workflow completion, or when your scorer needs access to the full execution context. We've also received [direct guidance](https://supabase.slack.com/archives/C05QYJBLX89/p1777925770927149?thread_ts=1777905716.911979&cid=C05QYJBLX89) from their team to use this approach. ## Changes Migrates eval scorers from custom `AssistantEvalOutput` shape to trace-level scoring via `trace.getThread()` / `trace.getSpans()`, with thread parsing that scores the full latest Assistant turn and passes prior conversation separately where relevant. Moves `execute_sql` and `deploy_edge_function` from client-side execution after approval to AI SDK `needsApproval` + server-side `execute()`. SQL results returned to the model are gated by AI opt-in level, so row data is only included with `schema_and_log_and_data`; otherwise the tool returns the no-data-permissions sentinel. Adds `metadata.isFinalStep` to disambiguate multiple LLM requests within an "assistant" turn due to tool call requests/responses. For online evals, this means we should configure automations to only score traces with `metadata.isFinalStep = true` to ensure we're judging the complete generated response. Other minor kaizen changes: - Renamed `promptProviderOptions` to `systemProviderOptions` to clarify that this is associated with the "system" message and disambiguate from the root `providerOptions` - Adds `evals/trace-utils.ts` to handle Zod validation of the `unknown` span shapes from Braintrust, to more easily access typed inputs/output on tool spans. - Bumps AI SDK floor version `^6.0.116` → `^6.0.174` - Tweaked the "Conciseness" scorer to not unfairly dock points for the new `[called tool_name]` labels in serialized assistant response ## Verification In the studio staging build, I asked Assistant to create a todos table with 3 sample todos. I manually approved the `execute_sql` call and saw Assistant generate text before & after the call. In Braintrust I verified two traces were produced (see [filtered logs](https://www.braintrust.dev/app/supabase.io/p/Assistant/logs?v=Staging&tvt=trace&search={%22filter%22:[{%22text%22:%22metadata.environment%2520%253D%2520%27staging%27%22,%22label%22:%22metadata.environment%2520%253D%2520%27staging%27%22,%22originType%22:%22btql%22},{%22text%22:%22%2560Chat%2520ID%2560%2520%253D%2520%25221cb2ac45-e5e7-458c-9da4-3bf6863b8842%2522%22,%22label%22:%22Chat%2520ID%2520equals%25201cb2ac45-e5e7-458c-9da4-3bf6863b8842%22,%22originType%22:%22form%22}]})), the first with `metadata.isFinalStep = false` and the second with `metadata.isFinalStep = true`. In the Braintrust staging scorers, I ran the preview Completeness scorer on the second trace and verified it sees the complete Assistant response including markers for tool calls ([link to trace](https://www.braintrust.dev/app/supabase.io/p/Assistant%20(Staging%20Scorers)/trace?object_type=project_logs&object_id=b5214b62-ad1e-4929-9d5b-40b1daebe948&r=0ed0a4f8-8aff-4a34-bb1d-1df1d88a5070&s=ff9015f8-6bf7-4ab3-83a9-ca4e69e27e82)) <img width="1193" height="960" alt="CleanShot 2026-05-07 at 11 27 10@2x" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/509d4858-c3a1-4068-986d-3aa4d5617d1a" /> I also tested the `deploy_edge_function` workflow and verified it still prompts for permission and warns on deployment of existing functions. **References** - https://www.braintrust.dev/docs/evaluate/custom-code#score-traces - https://ai-sdk.dev/docs/ai-sdk-core/tools-and-tool-calling#tool-execution-approval Supercedes https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/45556 and https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/45339 Closes AI-473 <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Tool actions (SQL execution, edge-function deploy) now require explicit user Approve/Deny before proceeding. * **Improvements** * Assistant pauses for approval responses before sending follow-ups, giving clearer control over risky actions. * Deploy/replace flows show confirmation and clearer replace warnings. * Evaluation/scoring updated to use richer trace data for more accurate assistant performance signals. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

feat(studio): add timezone picker to user dropdown (#45517)
## Problem The dashboard renders all timestamps in the browser's local timezone. When debugging app issues, users often want to see logs and timestamps in a different timezone (e.g. their app's deployment region) without changing their OS clock. ## Fix - New Timezone submenu in the user-avatar dropdown, sitting next to the existing Theme picker. Search-as-you-type combobox over the full IANA catalog plus an Auto detect option. - Selection persists in localStorage (`supabase-ui-timezone`) and survives `clearLocalStorage()`. No backend schema change. - New `lib/datetime.tsx` exposes pure timezone-aware formatters (`formatDateTime`, `formatDate`, `formatTime`, `formatFromNow`, `toTimezone`) plus a `TimezoneProvider` and matching React hooks (`useTimezone`, `useFormatDateTime`, ...). The pure functions take `tz` explicitly so they're easy to unit test (17 vitest cases covering DST transitions, multi-tz formatting, unix-micro/Date inputs, invalid-tz fallback). - The selected timezone propagates to every existing `<TimestampInfo>` in Studio via a new `TimestampInfoProvider` context exported from `ui-patterns`. No per-callsite changes needed for those ~20+ surfaces. - The `UnifiedLogs` date column migrates off `date-fns` to the new `useFormatDateTime` hook (the rest of the date-fns callers stay as-is, since they're either internal range math or non-display). - `ALL_TIMEZONES` (~600 entries) moves out of `PITR.constants.ts` into a shared `lib/constants/timezones.ts`. PITR keeps a re-export shim so its callers don't move. New `TIMEZONES_BY_IANA` dedupes the catalog by primary IANA name (the original list contains both PDT and PST rows for `America/Los_Angeles`, etc.) and `findTimezoneByIana` provides reverse lookup. - Telemetry: `timezone_picker_clicked` PostHog event with `previousTimezone`, `nextTimezone`, `isAutoDetected` properties. Notes for reviewers: - Bare `dayjs(x).format(...)` calls (~157 files) intentionally still render in browser-local time. Surfaces opt in by switching to the new wrappers, so this PR is the abstraction plus logs adoption; broader migration is a follow-up. - Two `// prettier-ignore` lines (`apps/studio/pages/_app.tsx`, `apps/studio/components/interfaces/UnifiedLogs/UnifiedLogs.fields.tsx`) work around a pre-existing local-tooling issue where `prettier-plugin-sql-cst` strips angle-bracket type arguments under certain conditions. Project's pinned prettier (3.8.1) does not strip; the issue surfaces with a globally-installed prettier. Worth tracking separately. - Hydration: `guessLocalTimezone()` and `useLocalStorageQuery` are client-only. Studio is mostly CSR via the Pages Router, but any SSR'd `<TimestampInfo>` may briefly render in the server's tz before client hydration. Existing behavior already had this mismatch with `.local()`; this PR does not regress it. - Backend timestamps round-tripped through query params and mutations stay UTC. The picker is display-only. ## How to test - Run `pnpm dev:studio`, sign in. - Open the user avatar dropdown (top right). Hover Timezone. - Search for "tokyo", pick `(UTC+09:00) Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo`. - Open any project, navigate to Logs (e.g. `Project > Logs > Edge Functions`). Hover a log row's timestamp; the popover should show UTC, the chosen tz (`Asia/Tokyo`), and the relative time. Visible cell text should be in JST. - Visit any page that uses `<TimestampInfo>` (Database > Backups, Project Pause state, Edge Function details). Same tooltip should reflect Asia/Tokyo. - Refresh the page; timezone is still Asia/Tokyo. - Reopen the picker, choose Auto detect; timestamps revert to browser local. - Run `pnpm --filter studio test lib/datetime.test.ts`. 17 tests should pass. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Timezone selector added to the user menu with auto-detect and manual override * App-wide timezone provider and hooks plus a shared timezone catalog for consistent timezone-aware display * Timestamp components accept an optional timezone prop and respect user preference (persisted) * **Bug Fixes / Improvements** * Logs and timestamp displays now use the new timezone formatting hooks * **Tests** * Added comprehensive datetime and timezone catalog tests * **Telemetry** * Telemetry event added for timezone picker interactions <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

feat(studio): add keyboard shortcuts to Database listing pages (#45467)
## Summary Adds the `O→S` / `Shift+F` / `Shift+N` / `F→C` shortcut set across every Database listing page, on top of the schema-visualizer pattern from #45386. Fixes [FE-3131](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/FE-3131). A shared `list-page.*` registry replaces what would have been a per-page registry file for each route, and `useShortcut`/`Shortcut` gain a `label` override so a single ID renders contextually in Cmd+K and hover tooltips. ## Pages and shortcuts | Page | `O→S` | `Shift+F` | `Shift+N` | `F→C` | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Tables | Open schema selector | Search tables | Create new table | Clears search + entity-type filter | | Functions | Open schema selector | Search functions | Create new function | Clears search + Return Type + Security | | Triggers — data | Open schema selector | Search triggers | Create new trigger | Clears search + Table filter | | Triggers — event | — | Search event triggers | Create new event trigger | Clears search + Owner filter | | Enumerated Types | Open schema selector | Search enumerated types | Create new enumerated type | Clears search | | Indexes | Open schema selector | Search indexes | Create new index | Clears search | | Roles | — | Search roles | Add new role | Clears search + filter type → 'all' | | Publications | — | Search publications | — | Clears search | | Extensions | — | Search extensions | — | Clears search | `Shift+N` only fires when the page-specific gate allows it (permission + unlocked schema + any other prerequisite like `hasTables` for triggers). ## Test plan - [ ] On each of the 9 pages, all four shortcuts behave as listed in the table above - [ ] Hover the wrapped controls — tooltip shows the page-specific label and the right keybind badge - [ ] Open the schema selector via `O→S` — the hover tooltip is suppressed while the popover is open - [ ] `Shift+N` is a no-op on locked schemas / when permission is missing / when a prereq fails (e.g. no tables on Triggers data) - [ ] `Shift+F` focuses the search input; while focused, Escape clears (with text) → Escape blurs (when empty) - [ ] `Cmd+K` shows the page-specific shortcut name while on each page; the entry goes away on navigation - [ ] `Mod+/` reference sheet shows one "List pages" group with 4 generic entries - [ ] No regression to existing schema-visualizer / table-editor / SQL-editor shortcut behavior <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Added a dedicated list-page shortcut group in the shortcuts reference. * **Improvements** * Keyboard shortcuts across database list pages: focus & select search, reset filters, and create-new-item shortcuts. * Escape now clears/searches or blurs inputs to avoid accidental popover closes. * Create/new buttons respond to shortcuts when allowed; disabled actions keep permission tooltips for clarity. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> |

[FE-3134] fix(studio): handle ALTER TABLE IF EXISTS in RLS detection (#45493)
The SQL Editor was warning about missing RLS even when the same query enabled it, if the user wrote `ALTER TABLE IF EXISTS ...`. The parser regex didn't recognise `IF EXISTS` and was capturing `IF` as the table name, so the RLS event never matched the `CREATE TABLE`. **Changed:** - `ALTER TABLE` regex in `sql-event-parser.ts` now accepts the optional `IF EXISTS` and `ONLY` modifiers, matching Postgres's `ALTER TABLE [ IF EXISTS ] [ ONLY ] name` grammar. **Added:** - Unit tests for `IF EXISTS`, `ONLY`, and both combined. - Regression test in `SQLEditor.utils.test.ts` using the customer's exact SQL. ## To test 1. Open the SQL Editor and paste: ```sql CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS public."Conversations" (id int8 primary key); ALTER TABLE IF EXISTS public."Conversations" ENABLE ROW LEVEL SECURITY; ``` 2. Hit Run – the "table will not have RLS" warning should **not** appear. 3. Sanity check: a `CREATE TABLE` without any matching `ENABLE ROW LEVEL SECURITY` still triggers the warning. Addresses [FE-3134](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/FE-3134/sql-editor-warns-about-missing-rls-policy-incorrectly). <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Tests** * Added comprehensive test coverage for Row Level Security detection across different SQL syntax patterns and clause combinations * **Bug Fixes** * Enhanced Row Level Security detection capabilities in the SQL editor by extending support for additional ALTER TABLE statement syntax variations, improving the accuracy and completeness of security configuration recognition <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> Co-authored-by: Alaister Young <10985857+alaister@users.noreply.github.com> |

chore(studio): clarify partnered orgs and projects (#44328)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce? UI improvements. - Resolves DEPR-401 - Resolves DEPR-424 - Resolves DEPR-425 ## What is the current behaviour? Studio currently blurs two different concepts together: - `billing_partner` / `billing_via_partner`, which represent real billing ownership for marketplace-managed organisations such as AWS and Vercel - Stripe connection state, which is not actually partner billing in the same sense, but was previously being mocked through the same UI paths That made the Stripe work harder to reason about and left some local behaviour dependent on temporary overrides rather than the API shape we want to ship. ## What is the new behaviour? This PR separates those concerns while keeping the existing AWS and Vercel marketplace experience intact. - AWS and Vercel continue to use `billing_partner` / `billing_via_partner` for billing ownership, lockouts, and manage CTAs - Stripe display state now comes from `integration_source`, which lets Studio show Stripe-specific badges and alerts without treating Stripe as a billing partner - organisation-level partner UI is unified across AWS, Vercel, and Stripe, including the org banner, navbar icon treatment, and organisation cards - project-level Stripe UI now appears only when the project itself is marked as Stripe-connected, including the project switcher, project list surfaces, and a project-level banner - Stripe-connected organisations are no longer incorrectly blocked behind the AWS/Vercel-style billing management alerts for invoices, billing address, payment methods, or plan changes - banner dismissal is scoped to the relevant org/project and partner/integration state ## Review order Most of the diff size here is regression tests and generated types. The behavioural changes are concentrated in a smaller set of files. Recommended review order: 1. `integration_source` vs `billing_partner` data-model split and org/project query mapping 2. org-level UI: partner icon, org banner, org dropdown/card treatment 3. billing gating updates for Stripe vs AWS/Vercel 4. project-level Stripe UI: dropdown, list surfaces, banner 5. tests and generated types | Stripe Org(s) | | --- | | <img width="1024" height="759" alt="Organizations Supabase" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d0ef338c-3b41-4c6d-b3bd-f21a2c182840" /> | | Vercel Org(s) | | --- | | <img width="1024" height="759" alt="Organizations Supabase" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/1dc57770-3f24-45ac-840f-34680555cde8" /> | | AWS Org(s) | | --- | | <img width="1024" height="759" alt="Organizations Supabase" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/7847dad0-ee30-4a65-ab0b-b3b16af0d34f" /> | | Stripe Org, Non-Stripe Project | | --- | | <img width="1152" height="885" alt="Mallet Toolshed Supabase-1673E019-792C-462C-B6F8-C5DDB810B331" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/556fbea3-b5ae-4f2f-96b9-6f66c6654e4a" /> | | Stripe Org, Stripe Project | | --- | | <img width="1152" height="885" alt="Hammer Toolshed Supabase-7E86C17C-561F-4221-BD16-EAFF7D41AAE0" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/94f8daf6-0320-413e-8d56-59f9acaaea15" /> | | Vercel Org | | --- | | <img width="1024" height="759" alt="Projects Toolshed Supabase-A7891653-9366-4B99-89DD-789D70CD52E3" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/c87ee6e8-4451-4866-a905-23a38b2593e3" /> | | AWS Org | | --- | | <img width="1024" height="759" alt="Projects Toolshed Supabase-58A43ECE-569E-4541-9463-346A90B02CFF" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9350a180-4d58-42a1-ad1a-95893c2e8b12" /> | This also removes the old Stripe mock override path in Studio so the frontend matches the intended API model more closely. ## ~~Dependencies~~ (merged!) This work depends on the private platform change that exposes `integration_source` on the relevant organisation and project payloads: - https://github.com/supabase/platform/pull/31874 _Update: now merged._ ## Local testing ### Stripe If you have the private `platform` repo checked out locally, make sure your local API returns `integration_source: 'stripe_projects'` consistently for the Stripe-linked org/project you are testing. Important responses: - `/platform/organizations` - `/platform/organizations/:slug/projects` - `/platform/projects/:ref` Verify: - org banner and org icon show the Stripe connected state - unopened and opened project switcher both show Stripe only for Stripe-linked projects - project cards / table rows show the Stripe chip only for Stripe-linked projects - the project-level Stripe banner appears across project surfaces - billing address, tax ID, invoices, payment methods, and plan changes remain editable in Studio for Stripe orgs ### Vercel Use a Vercel Marketplace org with real `billing_partner` / `billing_via_partner` values. Important org-level endpoints for local mocking in `platform`: - `/platform/organizations` - `/platform/organizations/:slug` - `/platform/organizations/:slug/billing/subscription` Project-level Vercel indicators still come from `/platform/integrations/:slug`, not `integration_source`. ### AWS Use an AWS Marketplace org with real `billing_partner` / `billing_via_partner` values. Important org-level endpoints for local mocking in `platform`: - `/platform/organizations` - `/platform/organizations/:slug` - `/platform/organizations/:slug/billing/subscription` AWS does not currently have a Stripe-like project-level indicator in these org/project payloads. ## Notes - `billing_partner` is no longer the right abstraction for the Stripe-connected case in this PR. It remains the source of truth for marketplace billing ownership, while Stripe currently uses `integration_source` as a connection/display signal. - I re-ran `pnpm api:codegen` while tightening this PR and kept only the generated type changes this branch actually depends on, to avoid unrelated API drift in the review. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Stripe Projects integration added for billing and project flows * Partner icons/badges shown across org and project lists, dropdowns, and rows * Dismissible, partner-specific marketplace/integration banners with contextual CTA behavior * Improved partner-billing detection to drive billing UI and invoice/plan availability * **Tests** * Extensive new test coverage for billing UI, partner-managed fallbacks, banners, icons, and related flows <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> --------- Co-authored-by: Claude Sonnet 4.6 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Ivan Vasilov <vasilov.ivan@gmail.com> |

fix(self-hosted): local AI assistant unable to read schemas and interpret/execute SQL (#44757)
## I have read the [CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md) file. YES ## What kind of change does this PR introduce? Bug fix for #42574 ## What is the current behavior? If you setup a self-hosted Supabase environment and ask local AI assistant it is unable to interpret the results for executed SQL queries. ## What is the new behavior? Local AI assistant can now read schemas and interpret the results for executed SQL queries. ## Additional context I tested it using ollama with a smaller model which does not support reasoning mode so It would be useful if someone can test it using an actual OpenAI API KEY. The main issue was that `executeSql` returns a wrapped `{ result: {...} }` on `fallback-tools.ts` making the model think there's no result. The solution is just to unwrap it like it's done at: `apps/studio/data/database-functions/database-functions-query.ts`: ``` export async function getDatabaseFunctions(...) { ... const { result } = await executeSql(...) ... return result as DatabaseFunction[] } ``` Also added a `false` default value in `execute_sql` tool schema so zod validation does not reject a valid LLM tool call if the model omits the field (which happened with the smaller model) <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Refactor** * Optimized internal schema metadata query handling in AI tools. * **Chores** * Enhanced SQL execution tool robustness by providing a sensible default for query type specification when not explicitly provided. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> Co-authored-by: Andrey A. <56412611+aantti@users.noreply.github.com> |
