Charis 4343e21da0 feat(studio): tighten the notebook diff preview (#49218)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI refactor of the notebook create/update preview in the AI Assistant
panel, plus a small additive prop on the shared `CodeBlock`.

## What is the current behavior?

The assistant's notebook diff renders each cell as its own bordered box
with a gap between them, under a `6 cells` line that is easy to miss.
Cells can't be collapsed, each one carries a repeated `ADDED` badge and
a nested "Show more" toggle, and long markdown scrolls sideways instead
of wrapping.

## What is the new behavior?

<img width="796" height="1076" alt="CleanShot 2026-08-18 at 14 41 30@2x"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/45e58c6c-48f2-404b-8699-757ee96a4a8d"
/>

- The whole diff is one card: a distinct header row (notebook name,
summary, expand/collapse all) over cells glued together by dividers.
- Every cell is a `Collapsible`. Added and replaced cells open by
default; unchanged, moved, and removed cells stay as single rows but are
now inspectable instead of being content-free.
- The per-row badge is replaced by a colored gutter glyph (`+` `−` `~`
`↕`) with a tooltip naming the change type. The change type reaches the
accessible name via `aria-label` on the row.
- The nested "Show more" toggle inside each cell is gone — the row
itself is the only control.
- `CodeBlock` gains a `wrapLongLines` prop (default `false`, no change
for existing callers), used here so markdown and SQL soft-wrap. The
highlighter sets `white-space` inline on the `<code>` element, so a
class on the `<pre>` can't do this.

## I have read the

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Docs update. Copy and dedupe.

## What is the current behavior?

Gave this a style edit. Basically, saw this note breaking a lot of style
rules at once (`login` instead of `log in`, future tense, and also
breaking timelessness) and couldn't help myself for submitting a
revision. 😅

Pedro RodriguesandClaude Opus 4.8 d3146a1755 docs: add Grok plugin and MCP install instructions (#49212)
## What this does

Adds **Grok** (Grok Build) across the Supabase AI-tools docs, and fixes
two logo gaps.

- **Plugin docs** (`AgentPluginsPanel`) — Grok client + `grok plugin
install …` / in-session `/plugins` steps.
- **MCP docs** (`McpUrlBuilder`) — Grok under "AI Agent CLI":
`~/.grok/config.toml` (`[mcp_servers.supabase]`), `grok mcp add …
--transport http`, OAuth steps.
- **"Pick your agent" grid** — add the Grok logo, and fix **Warp**'s
pre-existing missing logo (both were absent from the grid's
`ICON_ASSETS` map).
- **Fix**: the plugins-page Cursor entry was missing
`hasDistinctDarkIcon`, so its dark-mode logo fell back to the light mark
— aligned with the MCP list.
- Adds Grok + Warp agent logos (light + dark).

## Testing

Verified against grok `1.0.5`: `grok plugin install …` works; the
generated `config.toml` and `grok mcp add` command are both parsed by
`grok mcp list`.

Pairs with supabase-community/supabase-plugin#45 (the `.grok-plugin`
surface); merge after that lands.

Joshen Lim 6fd48944a8 Support multi series bar charts in explorer and chart-bar (#49241)
## Context

- Updates the BarChart in our design system to support multi series in a
similar fashion to how the LineChart already supports multi series
- Update chart renderer in explorer notebooks to support multiple Y axes
using the `MultiSelector` component
- Up to 3 y columns can be selected for now (Arbitrary limit from a
color's selection POV but also just felt like anything more and the
chart doesn't feel useful)
- Only linear scale will be supported if multiple y columns are selected
(Will switch back to linear if originally on log scale)

Charis 071a07118a feat(studio): add NotebookPreview diff component (#49112)
## Summary

Stacked on #49109 (PR 1 — `deriveNotebookDiff`). This is PR 3 of the
notebook approval-preview stack: a pure presentational component that
renders the cell-level diff for a proposed notebook create/update, for
use in the assistant approval UI (wired in a later PR).

- `NotebookPreview` — header summary (`"6 cells"` for create, `"+2 −1 ~1
↕1"` for update) + entry list + "Show N more cells" for long notebooks.
- `NotebookPreviewCell` — dispatches per entry tag:
`unchanged`/`removed`/`moved` collapse to a muted badge row; `added`
renders source via `CodeBlock` (with a max-height/expand toggle);
`replaced` renders a `DiffEditor` diff, plus a before → after metadata
line when only `database_identifier`/`time_range` changed (SQL/text
identical).
- `NotebookPreview.utils` — pure helpers (labels, source/metadata
extraction, language mapping, summary formatting), unit tested.
- **Safety property**: cell content only ever renders through
`CodeBlock`/`DiffEditor` (literal source), never through a markdown
renderer — agent-authored text can't trigger image loads or link
navigation before the user approves. Covered by an adversarial test
(`![x](evil)`, `[y](evil)`, `<img onerror>` → zero
`img`/`[href]`/`[src]` DOM nodes).
- Adds `'markdown'` as a supported `CodeBlock` language (small, additive
change to `packages/ui-patterns`).

Towards FE-4143

## Test plan

- [x] `pnpm --filter studio test` — NotebookPreview suite (21 tests)
passes
- [x] `pnpm --filter studio exec eslint
components/interfaces/Explorer/NotebookPreview` — clean
- [x] `pnpm --filter studio exec tsc --noEmit` — no new errors
- [x] `pnpm exec prettier --check` — clean

Danny White 5f9ce727c0 fix(ui): systematise control surface fills and hover borders (#48887)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Bug fix / design-system token hygiene for form and selector chrome.

## What is the current behavior?

After opaque default-button fills, text fields, selects, and selector
tiles drifted apart: inputs and selects mixed ad-hoc washes, hover
borders bounced between `border-stronger` / `border-foreground-muted`,
invalid fields had no hover step, and composites like InputGroup leaked
inner hover borders.

Follow-up to #48837 (opaque button fills) where Select rest still felt
darker than Input on forms such as scoped access tokens.

## What is the new behavior?

Named control roles and one interactive border:

| Role | Fill | Rest border | Hover / focus / open |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Field (sunk) | `bg-field` | `border-control` | `border-control-hover`
|
| Raised control | `bg-control-raised` | `border-strong` |
`border-control-hover` |
| Overlaying action | card → popover | `border-strong` |
`border-control-hover` |
| Invalid field | `bg-destructive-200` | `border-destructive-400` |
`border-destructive` |

- `--field` / `--control-raised` / `--border-control-hover` live in
`semantic.css` (source of truth for roles; README points there)
- Input / Textarea / InputGroup / legacy TextArea use the field ladder
(incl. invalid hover)
- Select and empty MultiSelect use raised; filled MultiSelect sinks to
field
- Default + dashed Button, CommandMenu trigger, and radio
card/stacked/large use `border-control-hover`
- Studio selector tiles aligned: Connect mode, role impersonation,
DuckLake modes, compute “Contact us”

src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/92271223-4103-4cc6-a7c0-9e4ff71cce30"
/> |

## Additional context

`--control-raised` aliases `--card` today (role name so fill can diverge
later). Rest `border-control` / `border-strong` both still map to
`--input` via compat; the shared interactive step is
`--border-control-hover`.

## To test

1. **[Account → Access
Tokens](https://studio-staging-git-dnywh-fixcontrol-surface-tokens-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/account/tokens)**
Open Generate / New scoped token. Side-by-side Input, Select,
RadioGroupStacked, MultiSelect. Confirm sunk vs raised fills, shared
hover border, MultiSelect flips to sunk once a value is selected. Leave
a required field empty to check invalid rest → hover → focus.

2. **[Org →
Projects](https://studio-staging-git-dnywh-fixcontrol-surface-tokens-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/org/_)**
Hover the dashed Status filter. Hover default / filled filter buttons
when active. Confirm hover/open borders match.

3. **[Project →
Connect](https://studio-staging-git-dnywh-fixcontrol-surface-tokens-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/project/_)**
Open Connect from the header. Mode grid tiles: hover + selected borders
match radio cards (no old muted-foreground ring).

4. **[Project →
Compute](https://studio-staging-git-dnywh-fixcontrol-surface-tokens-supabase.vercel.app/dashboard/project/_/settings/infrastructure)**
(optional)
Compute size radios + “Contact us” tile hover.

Danny White 14fe0c0cc8 fix(studio): slightly round split-button corners on focus (#49129)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI polish for split buttons (primary action + dropdown chevron).
Follow-up to #49055.

## What is the current behavior?

The focus ring sits above the neighbouring half, but the inner edge
stays square, so the ring has two sharp corners at the join.

## What is the new behavior?

On keyboard focus, the squared-off edge uses a slight radius so the ring
matches the outer corners more closely. Resting state is unchanged.
Split-button callsites now share the same join classes as the
design-system example.

Danny White c15a8b6739 chore(studio): lighten FormLayout descriptions and tighten GitHub copy (#49091)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI nits

## What is the current behavior?

`FormLayout` descriptions that are not in a react-hook-form field use
`text-foreground-light`, which fights the component’s
`text-foreground-lighter` variant. New-project GitHub helper copy is one
long colon sentence.

## What is the new behavior?

Those `FormLayout` descriptions use the shared description variant
(`foreground-lighter`). New-project GitHub copy is two short sentences.

Query results can be rendered as either bar or line chart - using the
chart packages from `ui-patterns`
[NOTE]: For design team reviewers - am patching the chart packages to be
agnostic to the `timestamp` property within the provided data set. Would
love to use this component from a consistency POV instead of the old
`BarChart` component we have.

Have intentionally omitted log scale functionality from this PR - will
have that separately 🙏

Pedro RodriguesandClaude Opus 4.8 6594f412f9 docs: add Warp as a supported MCP client (#48838)
Adds [Warp](https://www.warp.dev/) as a supported client in the Supabase
MCP docs. Because [Warp speaks the native remote (Streamable HTTP)
transport](https://docs.warp.dev/agents/capabilities/mcp/), the standard
config connects to the hosted server directly, no `mcp-remote` proxy
needed:

```json
{ "mcpServers": { "supabase": { "url": "https://mcp.supabase.com/mcp" } } }
```

The MCP client list is data-driven, so this single addition surfaces in
the docs MCP panel, the generated markdown, and Studio's Connect panel.
Concretely: registers the `warp` client (config file
`~/.warp/.mcp.json`, docs link) under the IDE group, adds setup
instructions (auto-load + Settings → AI → MCP Servers, automatic OAuth),
and adds the official Warp logo in light and dark variants.

## What is Warp?

Warp is an agentic development environment built from the terminal: a
Rust-based, GPU-accelerated app that runs coding agents (Claude Code,
Codex, Gemini) directly in the terminal. It has first-class MCP support
with native remote (Streamable HTTP / SSE) transport and automatic OAuth
(no PAT required).

## Why add support for the Supabase MCP server?

Warp is a mainstream, widely-adopted client
([warpdotdev/warp](https://github.com/warpdotdev/warp) has 64k+ ⭐ on
GitHub) that natively supports MCP. Documenting it lets Warp users
connect the hosted Supabase MCP server with a copy-paste config,
matching the coverage we already provide for Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf,
and others.

## How to test

1. Run the docs app (`pnpm dev:docs`) and open the MCP guide
(`apps/docs/content/guides/ai-tools/mcp.mdx`). Warp appears under
**IDE** with its logo (verify both light and dark themes) and the config
snippet.
2. In Warp, add the shown config to `~/.warp/.mcp.json` (or **Settings →
Agents → MCP Servers → + Add**). Warp auto-spawns the `supabase` server.
4. Click **Start** on the `supabase` server → complete the Supabase
OAuth in the browser → the Supabase tools load.

<img width="859" height="606" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8c931ded-4ffe-4495-b4c8-183f93be812a"
/>

Verified end-to-end on Warp v0.2026.07.29 (macOS): the config auto-loads
and connects over Warp's native remote transport, and the OAuth flow
completes without a PAT.

Danny White 6c0439ace8 fix(ui): opaque default button hover fills (#48837)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Bug fix for translucent default Button (and related control) fills that
show through stacked content on hover.

Resolves
[DEPR-636](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DEPR-636/report-snippet-cell-expand-button-becomes-transparent-on-hover).

## What is the current behavior?

Default `Button` hover uses `bg-selection`, and dark-mode rest uses
`bg-muted`. After the colour system migration those legacy aliases point
at translucent `--accent` / `--muted`, so hover punches through whatever
sits behind the button (SQL Editor / Reports cell expand, sticky
columns, skip-to-content, etc.).

/> |

## What is the new behavior?

Default Button, Select, MultiSelect, and the CommandMenu trigger use
opaque elevation tokens (`bg-background dark:bg-card`,
`hover:bg-popover`). SkipToContent drops its opaque-plate workaround. No
global `compat.css` alias remaps.

/> |

## Additional context

- Overlay tokens (`--muted` / `--accent` / `--tertiary`) stay
intentional for washes on solid surfaces. Controls that can sit over
content should use solid elevation tokens (`card` / `popover`) instead.
- Same root cause as the workarounds in #47996 and #48314.
- The “View full cell content” control lives in SQL Editor results /
Report `QueryBlock` (`ResultCell`), not Table Editor. It only renders
when the value is an object/array, contains a newline, or is longer than
60 characters, and it stays `opacity-0` until you hover the cell.

## To test

Short path in Studio (light and dark):

1. **Expand button over cell text (clearest repro)** – SQL Editor, run:
   ```sql
   select repeat('x', 80) as name;
   ```
Hover the result cell. The expand control should appear over the text;
hover the button itself and confirm the fill is solid (no `x`s showing
through). Same control is what Report snippets use.
2. **Any default Button** – Top nav **Connect** (or any bordered default
button). Hover: solid fill.
3. **Select** – Project picker or a Settings form select. Trigger hover
/ open fill stays opaque.
4. **Command menu trigger** – Hover the header search / Cmd-K control;
match default Button.
5. **Skip to content** – Tab once on Studio. Skip link hover stays solid
over the page behind it.
6. **Editor tabs regression** – SQL / Table Editor tab strip should
still look grey in light mode (not washed white).

Danny White df35577adc fix titleless Admonition alignment (#48784)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI bug fix.

## What is the current behavior?

Titleless Admonitions using the `description` prop place their compact
body text slightly too high beside the icon. Admonition bodies also
inherit a 2px bottom margin from `AlertDescription`, making the vertical
spacing subtly uneven.

## What is the new behavior?

Titleless `description` content receives a small optical offset,
centring a one-line description beside the icon. Rich MDX children
retain their natural top alignment because Docs prose uses a taller line
height.

Admonition bodies also remove the inherited 2px bottom margin, balancing
the surrounding space without changing the shared `AlertDescription`
primitive.

08867f94ff docs: lead self-hosting overview with what/why/CTA, restructure secondary content (#48415)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Docs restructure of the self-hosting overview: short fit intro, Get
started / community listings above the fold, parallel h2 sections for
how self-hosting differs (including local development),
responsibilities, and telemetry, plus a streamlined support listing with
better card content.

Closes DOCS-1251.

## What is the current behavior?

- Linear item: Explore two PR approaches for the self-hosting page
- The self-hosting overview page (`/guides/self-hosting`) is the top
search hit for "supabase self-hosting," but reads as a wall of text:
three full prose/bullet sections (differs / responsibilities /
telemetry) come before the getting-started CTA, which is buried as one
small card partway down the page.

## What is the new behavior?

- Short fit intro; `self-hosting-get-started` and
`self-hosting-community` listings sit directly under the intro.
- Top-level h2s for how self-hosting differs, responsibilities,
telemetry, and support (no "More about self-hosting" wrapper).
- Under differs: rewritten single-project + platform-gap copy, plus `###
Not the same as local development` (CLI stack is not a production
self-host; points to Docker / community options).
- Telemetry clarifies CLI local-dev telemetry vs Docker Compose (no
phone-home).
- Merged support into a single `self-hosting-support` listing;
Enterprise subsection unchanged.
- Minor a11y: `aria-hidden` on GlassPanel decorative icon background.

## Additional context

- Worktree:
`~/GitHub/supabase/supabase-worktrees/nikrichers/docs-1251-self-hosting-inform`
- Review: removed the "More about self-hosting" grouping after feedback
that it undersold differs / responsibilities.
- Companion prototype PR 48416 is closed; this branch is the direction
under review.
- Verification:

| Check | Result |
| ----------------------------------------------- |
------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `pnpm lint:mdx content/guides/self-hosting.mdx` | Pass — no
errors/warnings on this file |
| Vercel docs preview | Pass — full-page after screenshot captured from
the preview deploy |

### Proof: intro and get-started above the fold; parallel h2s for
differs, responsibilities, and telemetry

### Test plan

- [ ] Visit the preview link and confirm the page opens with intro above
the Get started listings
- [ ] Confirm parallel h2s for differs / responsibilities / telemetry /
support (no "More about self-hosting")
- [ ] Confirm "Not the same as local development" distinguishes the CLI
stack from self-hosting
- [ ] Confirm Support and community is one card grid
- [ ] Check mobile width — layout should still be usable
- [ ] Confirm `/guides/self-hosting/docker` link still works

## Summary by CodeRabbit

- **Documentation**
- Reorganized the self-hosting guide with clearer getting-started
resources and community links.
- Added dedicated guidance for local development, managed Supabase,
telemetry, and self-hosting responsibilities.
- Consolidated support resources into one section covering discussions,
issues, chat, Reddit, and sharing experiences.
- **Accessibility**
- Marked decorative icon backgrounds as hidden from assistive
technologies.

kemal.earth 8df721e97b fix(design-system): <MultiSelect /> syling update (#48696)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

This PR fixes a few known issues of our `<MultiSelect />` component,
mainly:

- Remove bright green hover state. Now matches `<Input />` and `<Select
/>`.
- Input colours in general are matched up to others.
- Dropdown colours, sizing, spacing matches that of `<Select />`.
- Minimum height of trigger dropped down to `34px` to be inline with
other input heights.
- Inner padding reduced when options are toggled on and badges appear to
keep initial `34px` height over one line.
- Fixed the stroke width of optional trigger icon to `1.5`.

This may need a second set of 👀 to make sure we haven't broken anywhere.
Haven't spotted anything egregious giving it a pass so far.

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Style**
* Refined the multi-select appearance with updated borders, backgrounds,
focus, hover, and open-state styling.
* Improved readability with larger item text and lighter command-item
text.
* Adjusted spacing, rounding, icon weight, and selected-item
highlighting for a cleaner interface.

Miranda LimonczenkoandClaude Sonnet 5 e7d9c88cbc fix(docs): resolve remaining heading-order issues found in Pass 2 diagnostic (#48664)
## Problem

After merging [#48456](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/48456)
(shared components) and
[#48459](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/pull/48459) (per-page
content fixes), a follow-up diagnostic pass found 22 remaining
heading-order violations, logged as Pass 2 in the [triage
report](https://app.notion.com/p/supabase/Playwright-E2E-Triage-Reports-3ab5004b775f81e3bc60d058fa5a02c1).
None of them were caught by the earlier fixes because they came from
places that scan didn't check: shared partials, raw HTML heading tags
written directly in MDX, and a couple of shared/interactive components
rendering hardcoded heading levels.

## Solution

- `_partials/social_provider_setup.mdx`: `#### Local development` →
`###`, matching the `##` that always precedes it on all 14 social-login
pages.
- `guides/database/functions.mdx` and
`guides/integrations/vercel-marketplace.mdx`: replaced raw `<h4>`/`<h5>`
tags with correctly-nested real headings (`### Planets`/`### People`;
`#### Deploy a Next.js app...`) — no styling workarounds needed since
they nest naturally one level below their parent section.
- `auth/quickstarts/{nextjs,react-native,react,astrojs}.mdx`: these 4
pages had no heading at all before the embedded
`_partials/api_settings.mdx` partial's own `### Get API details`
heading, so added a `## Quickstart` heading above the walkthrough to
give it a valid parent.
- `packages/ui`'s `Accordion` component: Radix's
`AccordionPrimitive.Header` renders as an unconditional `<h3>`
regardless of where the accordion is used. That's shared across Studio,
www, and design-system, not just docs, and surfaced on docs'
vendor-agnostic telemetry page. Now rendered via `asChild` onto a plain
`div` instead, since a generic accordion has no way to know what heading
level (if any) is valid in a given page.
- SQL-to-REST translator tool (`/docs/guides/api/sql-to-rest`): its
`Assumptions`/`FAQs` section labels were hardcoded `<h3>` with no `h2`
anywhere on the page. Converted to styled spans rather than promoting to
a real `<h2>`, because real h1/h2/h3 tags in this codebase force a prose
font-size that utility classes can't override — promoting the tag would
have visibly changed its size.
- `RealtimeLimitsEstimator` (embedded on both `postgres-changes` and
`benchmarks`): its 3 section headings were hardcoded `<h4>`, but the two
embedding pages need different levels (h3 vs h4) for that spot to be
valid — no single correct heading level. Converted to styled spans, same
pattern used throughout this project for components embedded at varying
heading depths.

## Manual testing

1. Check out this branch and run `pnpm dev:docs`.
2. Visit `/docs/guides/auth/social-login/auth-github` (or any other
provider page) and confirm the "Local development" callout under "Find
your callback URL" still looks and reads the same.
3. Visit `/docs/guides/database/functions` → "Returning data sets" tab
and confirm the "Planets" / "People" table captions still look the same.
4. Visit `/docs/guides/integrations/vercel-marketplace` → "Quickstart" →
"Via template" and confirm the CTA card title still looks the same.
5. Visit `/docs/guides/auth/quickstarts/nextjs` (or
react-native/react/astrojs) and confirm a "Quickstart" heading now
appears above the walkthrough, and "Get API details" still renders
correctly further down.
6. Run `pnpm dev:design-system` and open
`/design-system/docs/components/accordion` — expand/collapse an item and
confirm it still animates and looks identical; inspect the DOM and
confirm the trigger's wrapper is a `div`, not an `h3`.
7. Visit `/docs/guides/api/sql-to-rest`, translate any query, and
confirm the "Assumptions"/"FAQs" section labels still look the same.
8. Visit `/docs/guides/realtime/postgres-changes` and
`/docs/guides/realtime/benchmarks`, scroll to the connection-limits
calculator, and confirm its section labels still look the same on both
pages.
9. (Optional, for a full re-check) Run `pnpm e2e:docs:a11y --all`
against a deployed preview of this branch — only `/docs/guides/cli`
(pre-existing 404, unrelated to headings) should fail; every other page
should pass.

Verified with a full Playwright run against a real preview deployment:
**756 passed, 1 failed** (`/docs/guides/cli`, the pre-existing unrelated
404). Zero heading-order violations remain.

Danny White d1e7c403ac fix(ui): align Admonition titles and docs link hover with prose (#48428)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI bug fix.

## What is the current behavior?

After the recent Admonition a11y refactor:

- Titled Admonitions in MDX (blog and docs) could pick up large prose
top margin on the title, or (after follow-ups) end up with a title much
smaller than the body because the title was a `div` at `text-sm` while
body `<p>`s took prose ~15px
- Docs MDX links (including inside Admonitions) had a weak hover: prose
only shifted underline colour

Prior issues:

- A couple of guide callouts bolded link text via `[**…**](…)`
- Some funky Admonition formatting as called out in comments below

## What is the new behavior?

- `AlertTitle` is a `<p>` with `!mt-0 mb-0.5 font-medium` (not an `h5` /
bare `div`), so it does not break heading hierarchy and matches
admonition body font-size under prose
- Admonition uses `AlertTitle` again (though with `<p>` as explained
above) and wraps MDX `children` in `AlertDescription` (same as
`description`)
- `Alert` / `AlertTitle` / `AlertDescription` get `data-slot`
attributes; description keeps string→`<p>` wrapping, Studio density,
plus `text-balance`
- Docs link hover: typography `a:hover` and `MdxAnchor` now move text +
decoration toward foreground (InlineLink-like), without stealing brand
link colour via `text-inherit`
- Content: remove accidental bold on oauth-scopes and
multi-factor-authentication guide links

Danny White 3b06c6c7cc fix(docs): unify docs card hover and retire IconPanel (#48379)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Bug fix / docs UI polish.

## What is the current behavior?

- Many docs `GlassPanel`s use `background={false}`, so hover only tweaks
the border and reads as having no hover state
- Compact icon+label grids still use `IconPanel`, which has a broken
`-z-10` hover fill and overlaps with the newer `IconLink` pattern
- Description card grids jump to 3-up too early on medium widths

## What is the new behavior?

**GlassPanel**
- Removes the `background` prop; cards always use the filled surface
with stronger border hover
- Tightens icon→description gap (`gap-6` → `gap-3`)
- Decorative icons/logos use empty `alt` so screen readers don’t hear
the title twice

**Icon tiles**
- Retires `IconPanel` from docs and deletes it from `ui-patterns`
- Uses `IconLink` / `IconLinkList` for compact navigation tiles (auth
providers, social login, etc.)
- Adds `IconLinkButton` for SMS provider pickers (same chrome, opens a
dialog)
- Adds focus styles, list labelling, and dialog-trigger ARIA where
needed

**Layout / content**
- Migrate-to-Supabase description cards on resources use `GlassPanel`
(not slim icon tiles)
- Grid spans use `md:… xl:…` so cards stay 2-up until ~1280px
- Fixes migrate links to `/guides/platform/migrating-to-supabase/…` and
SSR quickstarts to `creating-a-client` with framework query params
- Moves the Extensions list `key` onto the outer `Link`

## Additional context

Homepage compact sections already use `IconLinkList` from #48317; this
PR finishes that pattern for remaining docs `IconPanel` callsites and
cleans up GlassPanel hover.

`www/customers` only drops the removed `background` prop; those cards
already use the filled surface via `logo`.

## Test plan

- [ ] `/guides/getting-started`: GlassPanels show filled surface and
clearer border hover
- [ ] `/guides/resources`: migrate cards are GlassPanels with working
`/platform/…` links; 2-up until xl
- [ ] `/guides/auth/social-login` and auth providers partial: IconLink
tiles hover/focus correctly
- [ ] `/guides/auth/phone-login`: SMS provider buttons open dialogs;
keyboard focus works
- [ ] Docs homepage: migrate / self-host IconLinkLists unchanged in
behaviour
- [ ] `/guides/auth/server-side`: Next.js / SvelteKit cards resolve on
docs preview

Miranda Limonczenko 0d465e7b5f chore(ui): Remove 'tip' from Admonition (#48419)
Closes FE-3966

## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## Problem

- The admonition uses both 'tip' and 'note', but the visual distinction
has long-ago collapsed.
- 'Note' is used far more frequently than 'tip'
- The two are very similar and it is confusing to know which one to use
when they are visually identical

## Solution

Collapse 'tip' and 'note' into one by removing all places where there is
'tip' and updating all references to 'tip' into 'note'.

**Note:** This PR also resolves new broken links flagged by the E2E docs
checker. It may move to another PR since E2Es keep erroring.

### Specific changes

See below for an AI-generated list of changes:

- **Type system** — removed `'tip'` from `AdmonitionType`, its
`TYPE_TO_VARIANT`/`TYPE_LABEL` entries, and the test case in
[`packages/ui-patterns/src/Admonition/](packages/ui-patterns/src/Admonition/)
- **Remark plugin** —
[remarkAdmonition.ts](apps/docs/lib/mdx/plugins/remarkAdmonition.ts) now
maps mkdocs `tip` → `note`
- **Lint allowlist** — `tip` dropped from `supa-mdx-lint.config.toml`
- **Content migration** — all 109 files with `type="tip"` (across
`apps/docs`, `apps/www`, `apps/studio`) converted to `type="note"`; zero
remaining hits confirmed by repo-wide grep
- **Style guide** — `CONTRIBUTING.md` and `contributing/content.mdx`
updated to describe 4 admonition types instead of 5

### Usage before implementation

See the usage table that points toward 'note' as being dominant across
all apps:

Here's the usage table:

| Location | `note` | `tip` |
|---|---|---|
| apps/docs | ~480 | ~143 |
| apps/studio | 34 | 6 |
| apps/www (blog) | 19 | 3 |
| packages/ui-patterns (tests) | 3 | 1 (parametrized) |
| design-system / ui-library / packages/ui / packages/common | 0–1 (test
fixture only) | 0 |

kemal.earth 67c983caef fix(design-system): small chart and metric card fixes (#48439)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

This fixes the following:

- Our `<MetricCard />` and `<LogsBarChart />` which use `<ChartTitle />`
were rendering the wrong font style for the title. The `font-mono` class
being overwritten by recent changes, this helps sort cascade so it
renders correct.
- In our design system, the warning variable for charts was rendering
black, this should be fixed to be our warning yellow.
- There was an odd padding on `<MetricsCard />` content area, meaning
our line chart wasn't flush to the edges, this required a small
extension to `twMerge` so it could resolve.

Please have a look around studio in places we have charts to double
check nothing is broken. Also compare live design system vs. this branch
by checking Logs Bar Chart, Charts and Metrics Card pages.

Danny White a99c83fe03 fix(studio): give Search nav trigger a visible hover state (#48319)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Bug fix / UI polish.

## What is the current behavior?

The Studio header "Search..." command menu entry point has no useful
hover state in light mode. It used `hover:bg-surface-100`, which maps to
elevated `--card` and brightens toward white, so the hover effectively
disappears against the near-white header. It also lacked
`cursor-pointer` and used a weaker border than nearby header controls
like Connect.

## What is the new behavior?

`CommandMenuTriggerInput` now matches the Connect button's default
variant interaction:

- `cursor-pointer`
- `border-strong` with `hover:border-stronger`
- `hover:bg-selection` (same fill as Connect; aliased to accent)

Studio `LayoutHeader` drops the redundant `bg-transparent` override now
that transparent is the shared default.

Danny White 37dded67d1 feat: unify SkipToContent across studio, docs, www, and design-system (#48314)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Feature / a11y polish

## What is the current behavior?

Studio and Docs each had their own skip-to-content link (different
styling and behaviour). www and design-system had none.

## What is the new behavior?

Shared `SkipToContent` in `ui-patterns`, adopted by Studio, Docs, www,
and design-system. Documented as a fragment with a short note under
Accessibility → Jumping ahead.

Tab once to reveal the button (top-left), Enter to jump to a
content-only `<main>`.

## To test

Shared steps for every app: enable Tab key navigation if needed, load
the preview, press **Tab** once — skip button should slide in top-left.
Press **Enter** — focus jumps to main content (no blue ring on
`<main>`). Press **Tab** again — first interactive control in the page
body, not the sidebar/nav. Hover the skip button — solid fill, clear
hover state, no chrome showing through.

Alaister YoungandAlaister Young ca2b50a0a7 chore(ui-patterns): collapse the admonition shim into ui-patterns/Admonition (#48377)
Follow-up to #48344: collapses the two resolution paths for the
Admonition module into one.

`src/admonition.tsx` was a back-compat shim re-exporting
`src/Admonition/`. Two ways to resolve one module is exactly what
produced the macOS self-import bug fixed in #48344, and the local
typecheck errors that #48374 worked around. This removes the shim and
standardizes on the PascalCase subpath, matching every other export in
the package.

**Changed:**

- Codemodded all 246 `ui-patterns/admonition` imports to
`ui-patterns/Admonition` (240 `.tsx`, 5 `.mdx`, 1 `.ts` across studio,
docs, www, design-system, and lite-studio)
- Pointed the 5 internal `'../admonition'` imports back at the
`'../Admonition'` directory

**Removed:**

- `packages/ui-patterns/src/admonition.tsx`, and its `./admonition`
entry in the exports map (regenerated with `pnpm gen:exports`)

## To test

- `grep -r "ui-patterns/admonition" --include='*.ts*'` → no hits
- `pnpm test:case-hazards` → passes
- `pnpm typecheck` → all 15 tasks green
- `pnpm --filter studio run lint:ratchet` → passes
- `pnpm --filter ui-patterns vitest run src/Admonition` → 11 tests pass

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Bug Fixes**
* Standardized Admonition component imports across the application and
documentation.
* Improved compatibility with case-sensitive environments by using the
canonical component path.
  * Removed the legacy Admonition import entry point.

Alaister YoungandAlaister Young d25e10b9c2 fix(ui-patterns): fix admonition self-import + add case-sensitivity guard (#48344)
Fixes the TanStack Studio app failing to load locally, and adds a CI
guard so the same class of bug can't come back.

`packages/ui-patterns/src/admonition.tsx` is a back-compat shim
containing `export * from './Admonition'`. On a case-insensitive
filesystem (macOS, Windows) the resolver tries `./Admonition.tsx` before
the directory index — and that's the same file. The shim re-exported
itself and exported nothing, so every consumer of
`ui-patterns/admonition` blew up with `does not provide an export named
'Admonition'`, plus knock-on Vite dep-optimizer errors about missing
chunks.

It works on Linux, so typecheck, lint, build and tests all pass on CI.
This only reproduces on dev machines.

**Changed:**

- `admonition.tsx` now points at `./Admonition/index` explicitly, so the
specifier can't resolve back to itself

**Added:**

- `scripts/check-case-hazards.mjs` — dependency-free, two textual checks
so they fire on Linux CI:
- **Self-resolving imports**: for `dir/X.tsx`, flags any extension-less
relative specifier resolving to `dir/X` case-insensitively
- **Case-colliding paths**: tracked paths (files and directory prefixes)
equal when lowercased, which can't coexist in a case-insensitive
checkout
- `pnpm test:case-hazards`, plus a step in `typecheck.yml` after
`setup-node` but before `pnpm install` — no deps needed, fails fast

Scoped check 1 to genuine self-imports rather than all case-insensitive
file/directory ambiguity. The broader rule lights up ~45 legitimate
routing pairs (`_app.tsx` + `_app/`, `changelog.tsx` + `changelog/`) and
would get switched off within a week. This version has zero false
positives on master today.

## Follow-up (not in this PR)

The underlying duplication is still there: `src/admonition.tsx` and
`src/Admonition/` both exist, and the ~14 internal `'../Admonition'`
imports inside the package resolve through the shim on macOS but through
the directory on Linux. Two resolution paths for one module is exactly
what produced this.

Real fix is to collapse it. Current counts: **246** files import
`ui-patterns/admonition`, **0** import `ui-patterns/Admonition`. So
either rename the directory to lowercase and delete the shim (zero
import churn, but one lowercase dir among ~50 PascalCase siblings), or
codemod the 246 imports to PascalCase to match the package convention.
I'd lean to the codemod, on a day it won't conflict with in-flight
branches.

## To test

- `pnpm test:case-hazards` on master → passes, ~16.5k files checked
- Revert `admonition.tsx` to `export * from './Admonition'` and re-run →
fails with the offending file and the suggested fix
- Confirm the fixed form `'./Admonition/index'` is *not* flagged
- With the fix in place: `rm -rf apps/studio/node_modules/.vite`, then
`STUDIO_FRAMEWORK=tanstack pnpm dev:studio` → app loads, no
`Pre-transform error` and no missing-export error in the console

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Bug Fixes**
* Improved detection of file-path casing issues that could cause
failures on case-insensitive systems.
* Corrected a module re-export to ensure the intended UI component is

2b27ed0ab1 fix(docs) Improve a11y for Admonitions with file refactor (#48112)
Closes FE-3914

## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## Problem

On screenreader, I found that the Admonition was not behaving as it
should:
- There was no way on screenreader to tell what type of note I was
seeing
- I could not tell when a note began or ended.
- The screenreader also read aloud an 'image' icon without knowing what
it was.
- Notes with titles were an `h5`, breaking header hierarchy structures.

## Solution

This PR does several things to resolve the issue:
- Adds `aria-hidden` to all icons. Instead of duplicating code, I
refactored the icons into a Base Icon and moved Admonitions into its own
folder.
- ~Adds a text label for each of the notes. For example, "**Note:**".
This is a standard practice in other documentation. If there is a title,
it is added there. Otherwise, it's added to the description.~ Change
reverted from design feedback.
- ~Adds `role='note'` and `aria-label` to the Admonition. While
`<aside>` is recommended semantic HTML, the base UI element does not
allow for that change.~ This will be done in a follow-up for docs only.
- Refactors Admonition into a folder with files so that it is more
readable
- Removes `h5` by default with a new prop to declare a header

Additionally adjusts the icon so that it aligns with text better.

## Testing

1. Open documentation preview
2. Navigate to any guide and see its admonition. Compare to live. You
can also see the Design System:
https://design-system-git-a11y-docs-admonition-supabase.vercel.app/design-system/docs/fragments/admonition
3. See the icon position is in line with the text.
4. See the text label.
5. Use a screenreader like Voiceover on the admonition. Hear that it is
clearly defined.

Danny White 6cff728742 feat(studio): polish Connect sheet mode selector and steps (#48266)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI polish for the Connect sheet: clearer mode selection, wider sheet
layout, and step/content chrome across Direct, Server, MCP, and shadcn
flows.

## What is the current behavior?

- Connect modes use a weak selected state and an awkward grid layout.
- The sheet can jump width below the `lg` breakpoint when switching
modes.
- Direct connection chrome is noisy (reset in a footer, Title Case /
mono pooler labels, mismatched copy-button sizes).
- Several steps use admonitions or extra tips that repeat footer
guidance.
- Case-sensitive import of `InlineLink` breaks Linux/Vercel builds.

## What is the new behavior?

### Mode selector and sheet
- Stronger selected/hover treatment; comfortable single row that wraps
via `@container`.
- Empty odd slots use a sunk placeholder cell.
- Sheet uses `size="lg"` with `max-w-4xl` and `w-full min-w-0` so width
stays stable when switching modes.

### Steps chrome
- “Follow these steps” header with a copy-prompt action for coding
agents.
- Optional steps labelled `(optional)`.
- Shared `CodeBlock` for install snippets; MCP feature groups preselect
all except Storage.
- Server / shadcn tips folded into footers; IPv4 add-on admonition is
responsive with an inline Learn more link and a single Enable action.

### Direct connection
- Connection string and connection parameters stay one step (same
credentials, two formats).
- Reset database password lives in the string card title row beside
Shared/Dedicated pooler.
- Card titles use sans + sentence case (`Shared pooler`, `Connection
parameters`); `.env` stays mono.
- Icon-only copy buttons match CodeBlock square sizing; row actions sit
slightly closer to the right edge (`pr-2`).
- Shared pooler toggle copy clarified.

### Test plan

- [ ] Open **Connect** and confirm mode cells select/hover clearly;
narrow the sheet and confirm wrap + stable width.
- [ ] Direct: switch Direct / Transaction / Session; confirm pooler
title, reset in title row, parameters table, and percent-encode note.
- [ ] Toggle IPv4 shared pooler on Transaction; confirm string updates
and admonition/Learn more behaviour when on IPv4-only paths.
- [ ] Server: `.env` Copy all / row copy sizing; install command copy.
- [ ] MCP / shadcn / Framework: steps still resolve and copy prompt
still builds a useful agent prompt.
- [ ] Spot-check light/dark and a Linux/Vercel build (InlineLink import
casing).

Joshen Lim 34e2585756 Fix MetricCard tooltip not tabbable (#48294)
## Context

`MetricCard` component in ui-patterns has a tooltip that currently isn't
tabbable as `asChild` is applied to `TooltipTrigger` which the child is
just an SVG.

Removing `asChild` as the fix so that `TooltipTrigger` is rendered as a
`button`

b2b150fa3c feat(pipelines): Add UI selector for choosing which tables to skip copy of (#47808)
## Summary

Adds initial-copy scoping to Pipelines in Studio. Users can copy all
existing rows, skip all initial copies, copy only selected publication
tables, or skip selected table copies. All publication tables continue
streaming new changes regardless of the initial-copy policy.

The policy now round-trips through create, edit, validation, and the
generated Management API contract. Initial-copy estimates and
table-restart confirmations use the same scope. Edit requests also
preserve redacted credentials and pipeline settings that Studio does not
own.

This completes the Studio layer of the [ETL API
change](https://github.com/supabase/etl/pull/897) and [Management API
change](https://github.com/supabase/platform/pull/35479).

Danny White 3bca21b3f8 chore(a11y): convert leftover focus recipes to focus-ring (#48219)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Accessibility cleanup (DEPR-628).

## What is the current behavior?

Leftover call sites still use ad-hoc focus recipes
(`ring-foreground-muted`, `outline-brand`, Dialog/Sheet `focus:` rings,
etc.) instead of the shared utilities from #41575.

## What is the new behavior?

Converts those leftovers across `packages/ui`, Studio, www, docs, and
design-system to `focus-ring`, preferring `focus-visible`. Keeps
documented exceptions (`group-focus-visible`, InputGroup `:has()`).

## To test

Tab through controls (keyboard only). Expect a consistent offset ring on
`:focus-visible`, not a green/brand/custom stack, and no ring animation.

### www (marketing)

Preview:
https://zone-www-dot-com-git-danny-depr-628-focus-ring-fbccf9-supabase.vercel.app

- Global nav on `/`: Product, Developers, Solutions dropdowns; logo;
hamburger + mobile menu
- `/features`: view toggles and feature cards
- `/company`: card links
- `/changelog`: timeline / entry links
- `/partners/catalog`: grid/list toggle and partner cards
- `/pricing`: compute section expand control
- Product / Modules / Solutions sticky navs on product pages (e.g.
`/database`, `/storage`)
- `/state-of-startups`: TwoOptionToggle if present

### docs

Preview:
https://docs-git-danny-depr-628-focus-ring-long-tail-supabase.vercel.app

- Any guide page: top nav dropdowns and items
- Narrow viewport: hamburger, then mobile menu links + close
- Guide with PromptPanel / tabs: tab to prompt actions and tab list

### studio (dashboard)

Preview:
https://studio-staging-git-danny-depr-628-focus-ring-long-tail-supabase.vercel.app

- Project home: Connect section tiles; drag-handle focus on sortable
sections
- Integrations marketplace (`/project/<ref>/integrations`): featured
cards, list/grid toggle, list rows
- Auth (`/project/<ref>/auth/oauth-apps`,
`/project/<ref>/auth/providers`): open create/edit sheet, tab to close
(X)
- Database policies (`/project/<ref>/database/policies`): open policy
editor sheet, tab to close
- Storage policies (`/project/<ref>/storage/files/policies`): bucket
section links; policy modal close
- Query performance (`/project/<ref>/observability/query-performance`):
info icon buttons on metrics
- Replication pipeline detail (if available): slot lag / status info
icons
- Support (`/support/new`): attachment add/remove controls
- Table editor: spreadsheet import preview checkboxes; row text/JSON
editor TwoOptionToggle
- Any Dialog/Sheet/toast close (X): ring on keyboard focus only, not
mouse click

### design-system

Preview:
https://design-system-git-danny-depr-628-focus-ring-long-tail-supabase.vercel.app

- Colour palette swatches (keyboard focus)
- Form patterns sidepanel example: avatar / focusable control in the
example

## Additional context

- Linear: [DEPR-628](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DEPR-628)
- Follow-ups: form-group CSS (DEPR-629), Storage columns selection
(DEPR-630), ESLint rule (DEPR-632)

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Accessibility & Usability**
* Standardized keyboard focus indicators across navigation, dialogs,
forms, buttons, toggles, links, and tooltips using a consolidated focus
style.
* Improved toggle controls to use proper button semantics (instead of
clickable text), including `aria-pressed`/disabled handling and better
keyboard navigation.

* **Visual Updates**
* Harmonized hover/focus ring visuals across the design system, Studio,
documentation, and marketing pages while preserving existing layout and
interaction behavior.

Danny White c8aca8d3a0 chore(design-system): standardise keyboard focus rings (#41575)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI / design-system consistency (accessibility).

## What is the current behavior?

Keyboard focus rings are inconsistent across Studio and `packages/ui`:

- Custom Button uses thick `outline` with per-variant colours (brand /
grey / destructive / warning)
- Form controls use muted grey rings (`ring-background-control`)
- Tabs / NavMenu / Radio use soft brand `ring-ring`
- Studio `.inset-focus` uses dark green `outline-brand-600`

Related: [DEPR-354](https://linear.app/supabase/issue/DEPR-354).

## What is the new behavior?

One shared focus recipe, exposed as Tailwind `@utility` classes in
`packages/config/css/utilities.css`:

| Utility | Use when |
| --- | --- |
| `focus-ring` | Buttons, inputs, most controls (offset ring) |
| `focus-inset` | Dense/flush surfaces such as interactive table rows
(renamed from `inset-focus`) |

```txt
# focus-ring
outline-hidden
focus-visible:ring-2
focus-visible:ring-ring
focus-visible:ring-offset-2
focus-visible:ring-offset-background
```

Applied on Button, shadcn form controls, Menu/NavMenu, Command palette
trigger, Studio table rows, and related call sites. Documented in the
design-system accessibility docs. Variants do not change focus ring
colour.

When the ring must appear on a different element than the focused one
(e.g. Menu + ProductMenu `Link` via `group-focus-visible`, or InputGroup
via `:has()`), keep an explicit ring stack. The utilities bake in
`:focus-visible` on the same element.

## Additional context

**Out of scope**

- Full `packages/ui` / Studio / www sweep
- Legacy Studio form-group green box-shadow cleanup
- ESLint rule for bare `outline-none`

## Test plan

Prefer Safari (“hard mode” for `tabIndex`). Expect one soft brand ring
everywhere: not grey, not solid green outline.

### Design system

- [ ]
[Accessibility](https://design-system-git-dnywh-choreimprove-tab-focus-styles-supabase.vercel.app/design-system/docs/accessibility):
recipe docs match what you see
- [ ]
[Button](https://design-system-git-dnywh-choreimprove-tab-focus-styles-supabase.vercel.app/design-system/docs/components/button):
Tab primary / default / danger; same ring colour
- [ ] [Table → Row-level
navigation](https://design-system-git-dnywh-choreimprove-tab-focus-styles-supabase.vercel.app/design-system/docs/components/table#row-level-navigation):
Tab an interactive row; inset outline (`focus-inset`) sits inside the
row

### Studio

- [ ] **Org home → table view** (`/organizations/_` or org projects):
switch to the table layout, Tab onto a project row; inset outline sits
inside the row (list/card view uses CardButton, not `focus-inset`)
- [ ] **Project sidebar** (Database, Auth, Storage, …): Tab the main
product nav links; ring follows the focused item (not the nested section
menus like Tables / Roles)
- [ ] **Storage → Files**: Tab a bucket row; same inset outline as org
table rows
- [ ] **Project Settings → General** (or Compute and Disk): Tab through
inputs, checkboxes, switches, selects; same offset ring, no ring on
mouse click
- [ ] **Header ⌘K** (desktop width): Tab to the search control after
Feedback; same soft brand `focus-ring` (was a thicker
`ring-border-strong` before)
- [ ] **Table Editor or SQL Editor tabs**: focus a tab, Tab to × if
active; close shows a ring
- [ ] **Light + dark**: ring stays visible against both backgrounds

Joshen Lim cf7da58eb3 Add overview section for database connections (#48147)
## Context

Building on top of "Database Connections" - this adds a top summary
section, again from `pg_stat_activity`
<img width="948" height="324" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f4968193-0a5f-4754-a630-40685b747999"
/>

Each block comes with a tooltip in hopes to educate the significance of
each metric
- Connections: Spread of connections per database role
<img width="313" height="164" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8ceeab5d-b960-4be3-9a5b-8600bd5cf303"
/>
- Active queries: Rough representative of activity
<img width="350" height="196" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f9705ff1-a869-409a-86b6-50170a169674"
/>
- Idle in transaction: Important to identify as this indicates locks
(Suggests root cause)
<img width="350" height="196" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f9705ff1-a869-409a-86b6-50170a169674"
/>
- Blocked queries: Also important to identify stuck queries
<img width="335" height="183" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/57255fb8-24f6-4ddd-aa54-850a77173b5c"
/>
- Longest running query: Might be useful to identify unusually long
queries
- Will be `text-warning` if exceeds 30 seconds for active queries,
`text-destructive` if exceeds 10 seconds for queries idle in transaction
<img width="342" height="119" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/f6783b43-058a-4a32-a40c-0bc64f23d2ce"
/>

"Summarize activity" CTA leverages on the Assistant to give a quick
overview - highlights any potential issues for quick reference
<img width="1918" height="958" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/340121fe-3186-48a5-8023-fbac2a93397a"
/>

## Other changes
- Hides "View running queries" in SQL Editor if `topForPostgres` feature
flag is enabled (since this UI is meant to replace that)

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **New Features**
* Added a Database Connections observability overview with metric cards
(connections, longest-running, active, blocked, idle-in-transaction) and
an interactive “Longest running” PID selector.
* Added a “Summarize activity” AI assistant dropdown that starts a
timestamped, activity-aware summary chat.
* **Improvements**
* Enhanced live activity refresh (including window-focus updates) and
standardized duration warning thresholds for active and
idle-in-transaction sessions.
* Improved hover details for query previews and allowed richer tooltip
content for metric labels.
* **Feature Changes**
  * Gated the “View running queries” bottom panel behind a feature flag.
* **Bug Fixes**
* Refined running-too-long badge and warning styling for
idle-in-transaction cases.

Danny WhiteandJoshen Lim 0324f3422a chore(studio): polish vercel deploy-button new project interstitial (#48113)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

Studio UI polish for the Vercel deploy-button new-project connect flow
(DEPR-616 follow-up).

## What is the current behavior?

- Deploy-button project creation still used
`VercelIntegrationWindowLayout` (top bar + Docs/Support footer) while
install and choose-project already use shared `InterstitialLayout`
- The remove-integration note sat as a floating admonition above the
form
- Advanced / internal-only config sections could show double dividers,
and the Oriole radio bottom border could clip inside the collapsible

## What is the new behavior?

- Deploy-button new-project uses `InterstitialLayout` with
`VercelIntegrationLogo` and `VercelIntegrationFooter`, matching the
other Vercel connect surfaces
- Regular `/new` project creation is unchanged; Panel chrome is only
flattened when `isVercelIntegrationFlow` is set
- Removes unused `VercelIntegrationWindowLayout` /
`IntegrationWindowLayout`
- Fixes Advanced/Internal-only dividers and collapsible border clipping

| Before | After |
| --- | --- |
| <img width="965" height="1107" alt="Supabase"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/99c1225c-c9e5-4fac-bd64-17920403e447"

/> |

## Additional context

### Testing

With Studio running locally and while signed in:

1. Open
`http://localhost:8082/integrations/vercel/<your-org-slug>/deploy-button/new-project`
2. Confirm the interstitial card: Vercel + Supabase logo pair, “Create a
new project” title, form fields, and the muted remove-integration footer
under the card
3. Confirm there is no old window chrome (no “Marketplace Connector” /
“Deploy Button” top bar, no Docs/Support footer)
4. Optionally submit and confirm project creation still works
5. Spot-check `/new` to confirm the normal project creation form is
unchanged

If you have advanced config enabled, expand Advanced Configuration and
confirm single dividers (not doubles) and that the Oriole option’s
bottom border is not clipped.

Joshen Lim 04a11b715a Fix some colors (#47996)
## Context

In the table editor when hovering over a row that has fixed columns, the
wordings could appear like they're overlapping
<img width="339" height="95" alt="image"
src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/9de8252c-08fc-4dec-a2f2-21461e47691e"
/>

This is due to the `bg-surface-200` class that gets applied to rows on
hover which use alpha values, hence why it's happening. Opting to use
`bg-200` instead which doesn't have alpha values.

Also small fix for the copy button in `CodeBlock` as well which is
running into the same issue - opting to use a set of colors that doesn't
have alpha values instead.

Joshen Lim 66691ad9ce Joshen/fe 3384 prevent ai assistant chat panel from closing after query (#47951)
## Context

2 problems that this PR addresses - but these are in general due to the
mobile UI behaviour
- Sidebars (e.g Help Panel, Advisor Panel, etc) closes whenever there's
a route change
- This is happening because of `StudioMobileSheetNav`'s
`handleOpenChange` interfering with the sidebar visible state
- Am opting to not render `StudioMobileSheetNav` at all unless on mobile
- On mobile, if you're on the Advisor Panel, clicking the "Menu" button
closes the mobile sheet
- Clicking on the Menu button seems to be triggering `MobileSheetNav`'s
`onOpenChange`
- My suspicion is because of state asymmetry between two independent
stores (MobileSheetContext and SidebarManagerState - these 2 are a bit
too complex imo)
- Am opting to skip calling `onOpenChange` in `StudioMobileSheetNav` if
the click target is within the Floating toolbar

## To test
- [x] Desktop: Have the assistant panel open and change routes, panel
should stay open
- [x] Mobile: Open the assistant panel, then switch to the menu, panel
should stay open

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Bug Fixes**
* Improved mobile navigation interactions so the navigation sheet
remains open while toolbar actions are being selected.
* Mobile navigation now displays only on smaller screens, preventing it
from appearing at medium and larger breakpoints.

Jordi Enric b84aafd1a6 fix(ui-patterns): fix chart y-axis label clipping (#47890)
## Summary
- Chart y-axis tick labels were clipped (e.g. edge function overview
execution time charts) because `chart-line.tsx`/`chart-bar.tsx`
hardcoded a `-40` left margin regardless of the actual
`YAxisProps.width` passed in.
- Margin now scales with the configured axis width.

## Test plan
- [ ] Visually check edge function overview performance/usage charts
render full tick labels (e.g. "195ms" instead of "ms")

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->

## Summary by CodeRabbit

- **Bug Fixes**
  - Improved chart layout and alignment across line and bar charts.
- Adjusted Y-axis spacing so labels display more consistently when axes
are shown or hidden.
- Removed unnecessary fixed spacing from Edge Function performance, CPU,
and memory charts.
- Tightened spacing around chart timestamp rows for a more compact
presentation.

Nik RichersandNik Richers 6418820b0b docs: convert self-hosting overview to ContentListings and restructure the page (#47469)
## I have read the
[CONTRIBUTING.md](https://github.com/supabase/supabase/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md)
file.

YES

## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

This PR converts link sections in the self-hosting overview page to the
`ContentListings` component, puts conceptual guidance before deployment
options, and adds badge support for the Docker card (minor).

Relates to DOCS-1137

## Current behavior

`self-hosting.mdx` uses hand-authored `<GlassPanel>` / `<Link>` JSX for
two sections:
- **Get started**: Docker card with a JSX title containing a `<Badge>`
element (was previously deferred for this reason).
- **Community-driven projects**: Two cards with trivial `<span>`-wrapped
string titles.

Get started and Community cards appear at the top of the page, before
the conceptual overview. The Support and community section uses
hand-authored bullet lists for GitHub, Discord, and Reddit links.

## New behavior

- The self-hosting overview page now uses data-driven `ContentListings`
instead of hand-written cards and bullet lists.
- Conceptual content (how self-hosting differs, your responsibilities,
telemetry) comes first; deployment options and community resources
follow.
- Section intro text lives in listing data rather than inline MDX.
- Brand icons added to all listing cards (Docker, Kubernetes, Traefik,
GitHub, Discord, Reddit).
- Minor: Added support for badges to content listings, such as
"Official" in the Docker tile

Data lives in `self-hosting.data.ts` (5 groups, 8 links) and is
registered in `content-listings/index.ts`.

## Additional context

### Icon usage rights

New brand icons (Kubernetes, Traefik, Reddit) are sourced from [Simple
Icons](https://simpleicons.org) (CC0 1.0). Existing icons (Docker,
GitHub, Discord) reuse assets already in `apps/docs/public/img/icons/`.
Use is non-commercial documentation only — consistent with existing docs
icon usage and trademark fair-use for identifying linked third-party
services.

### To do:

- [ ] Check with @aantti if he's on board with switching the page to
content listings we can lint for and the content restructure to match
other overview pages

## Verification

| Gate | Result |
|------|--------|
| `pnpm vitest run lib/content-listings.test.ts` | ✅ 12/12 passed |
| `pnpm build:guides-markdown` | ✅ 744 files generated |
| `pnpm lint:mdx` (self-hosting.mdx) | ✅ No warnings on changed file |

### Proof: restructured self-hosting page with ContentListings and icons

a3f2c4ffc1 chore(deps): upgrade to TypeScript 7 (native compiler) (#47757)
Upgrades the monorepo to TypeScript 7.0.2, released 2026-07-08. `tsc` is
now the native Go compiler
([announcement](https://devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/announcing-typescript-7-0/))
— full turbo typecheck drops from ~56s to ~19s locally.

TS 7.0 ships **without a programmatic API** (it lands in 7.1), so this
uses Microsoft's recommended side-by-side setup: the `typescript` name
resolves to `@typescript/typescript6` (the 6.0 API republished) for API
consumers — typescript-eslint and Next.js build typechecking — while
`@typescript/native` (the real `typescript@7.0.2`) owns the `tsc` bin
that typecheck scripts run. Exactly one version of each is in the
lockfile; nothing imports the native package as a library. When 7.1 +
tool support lands we can collapse back to a single `typescript` dep in
the catalog.

**Changed:**
- `pnpm-workspace.yaml`: catalog aliases for `typescript` /
`@typescript/native`
- 17 package.json files: `@typescript/native` added beside each
`typescript` dep so every package's `tsc` is the native binary
- `apps/studio/tsconfig.json`: exclude `dist/` (gitignored build output)
from typechecking

**Fixed** (real type errors TS 6 under-reported):
- `packages/ui-patterns` CodeBlock: `borderLeft: null` → `undefined`
(`CSSProperties` doesn't accept null)
- `apps/www` CodeBlock: removed a JSX `@ts-ignore` comment that tsgo
doesn't honor and fixed what it masked (untyped `.js` theme objects,
possibly-undefined highlighter children)

⚠️ **Merge timing:** the new packages are inside pnpm's 3-day
`minimumReleaseAge` window until ~July 11. Installs from the committed
lockfile are unaffected (resolution is skipped), but anything that
forces a re-resolution before then will fail — hold off merging until
the window passes.

Note for editors: the compat package has no `lib/tsserver.js`, so VS
Code's "Use Workspace Version" won't work — use the bundled TS or the
TypeScript Native Preview extension.

## To test

- `pnpm install && pnpm typecheck` — all 15 tasks green, and
`./node_modules/.bin/tsc --version` prints 7.0.2
- `pnpm lint --filter=studio` — typescript-eslint still parses (resolves
the 6.0 API)
- `pnpm build --filter=design-system` (or any Next app) — Next's
tsconfig validation and build typecheck still work
- CodeBlock rendering on www (syntax highlighting, line highlights
with/without border) — the two fixes are behavior-neutral but worth an
eyeball

## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Improvements / New Features**
* Enhanced TypeScript tooling support across the workspace for smoother
development builds and checks.

* **Bug Fixes**
  * Code blocks render more reliably when content is empty or missing.
  * Highlighted code line styling applies more consistently.

9af6e65df4 fix(studio): DOM-nesting hydration errors, ghost deleted-snippet nav, and migrations query 400s (#47667)
App-level fixes that reproduce on BOTH the Next and TanStack builds —
split out of #47657 (which stays TanStack-only) for reviewability. All
were found by a full-site click-through of the dashboard.

## Invalid HTML nesting (React 19 "will cause a hydration error" console
errors)

- **FormLayout description rendered in a `<p>`**
(`packages/ui-patterns`): consumers pass arbitrary JSX (the RowEditor's
`created_at` timezone note passes a `<div>` with `<p>`s) →
`<p>`-in-`<p>` / `<div>`-in-`<p>`. Container is now a `<div>` with
identical classes (Tailwind preflight makes them render the same).
- **Switch toggles nested inside Tooltip trigger buttons**
(button-in-button) in ColumnEditor ("Allow Nullable" + "Is Unique"),
ExtensionRow, and PublicationsTableItem → repo-standard `TooltipTrigger
asChild` + `<div>` wrapper.
- **Saved log queries rendered a `<div>` directly inside `<tbody>`**
(`/logs/explorer/saved`) → rows are now proper `<tr><td colSpan>`
wrappers; the component itself is untouched (it's valid in its sidebar
usage).
- **Nested anchors in observability metric cards**: a card-level
`<Link>` wrapped MetricCard's "More information" `<Link>` (identical
URLs) → the chevron affordance renders as a `<span>` when no `href` is
passed; clicks bubble to the card link, tooltips preserved.
Design-system standalone usage unaffected.
- **`objectFit="cover"` passed to modern `next/image`** on the featured
integration card (unknown-prop warning) — the className already had
`object-cover`; prop dropped.

## Ghost dead-snippet after deletion

Deleting the active SQL snippet left its id in `useDashboardHistory`
(`history.sql`), so the "SQL Editor" nav item navigated to
`/sql/<deleted-id>` — content fetch 404s, no editor pane renders, and a
phantom tab reappears. Fixed both ends: delete flows now purge dashboard
history (and the tabs store clears a stale `previewTabId`), and
`/sql/[id]` treats a snippet 404 as "clean up + `router.replace` to
`/sql/new` + toast" instead of rendering the dead state. Unit tests for
the store/history cleanup.

## `pg-meta` migrations query 400s on every project load

`ActivityStats` on project home runs the migrations list query, whose
SQL was a bare `select * from supabase_migrations.schema_migrations` —
that table only exists once a migration has run, so every other project
logged a failed `?key=migrations` request on every load (visible in
production consoles too). The SQL is now guarded with `to_regclass` +
`query_to_xml` (same pattern as the advisor lints' `storage.buckets`
guard), returning zero rows instead of erroring; legacy version-only
tables still work. Tested against real dockerized Postgres (absent
table, populated ordering, special chars, legacy schema) + MSW hook
tests.

Found and verified via /test-supabase-local (browser click-through +
console audit on both builds).

## To test

Console must stay free of React DOM-nesting errors ("cannot be a
descendant of" / "cannot contain a nested") on each surface:

1. Table editor → Insert row panel (`created_at` field renders its
timezone note) and Edit column panel ("Allow Nullable"/"Is Unique"
tooltips still hover).
2. `/database/extensions` and `/database/publications` → toggle switches
render, tooltips hover.
3. `/logs/explorer/saved` (with ≥1 saved query) → rows render full-width
inside the table, hover shows Actions.
4. `/observability` → no nested-anchor error on load; card body click
and the chevron both navigate; label help-icons still show tooltips.
5. `/integrations` → no `objectFit` unknown-prop warning; featured card
images still cover.
6. **Ghost snippet**: open a SQL snippet → delete it via the sidebar →
click the "SQL Editor" nav item → lands on `/sql/new` (no phantom tab,
no 404 content fetch). Direct-load `/sql/<random-uuid>` → toast +
redirect to `/sql/new`.
7. **Migrations 400**: load project home with a project that has never
run a migration → the `pg-meta/<ref>/query?key=migrations` request
returns **200** with `[]` (previously a 400 on every load). Database →
Migrations still lists real migrations when they exist.

### Review feedback: `query_to_xml` breaks on Multigres (Ivan)

The defensive migrations query (added here to stop the `?key=migrations`
400 when the table doesn't exist yet) originally guarded with
`query_to_xml`, which is forbidden through Multigres's pooler (MUL-736 /
PSQL-1318). Rewritten without `query_to_xml`/`xmltable` using the
splinter#170 pattern: a PL/pgSQL `do` block guarded by `to_regclass`
(PL/pgSQL defers planning, so a missing table never errors) stashes the
rows into a transaction-local GUC via `set_config`, and a trailing
`select` reads them back with `jsonb_array_elements`. Verified that
postgres-meta sends the whole SQL as one simple-query string → single
implicit transaction → the local GUC survives to the `select` and
doesn't leak into the pooled connection. 6/6 dockerized-Postgres tests
(absent table → `[]`, populated/ordered/special-chars, legacy
version-only table, full pg-meta-shaped multi-statement string, GUC
non-leakage).

Note (out of scope, pre-existing):
`packages/pg-meta/src/sql/studio/advisor/lints.ts` still uses
`query_to_xml` — a separate pre-existing Multigres risk that should get
its own splinter-pattern sync.

Danny White 484726a45c fix(studio): warning colours broken in light mode after colour migration (#47660)
## What kind of change does this PR introduce?

UI bug fix

## What is the current behavior?

After the colour system migration (#47288), `--warning-default` was
removed in light mode in favour of the semantic `--warning` token.
Several studio call sites still referenced
`hsl(var(--warning-default))`, which resolves to an invalid colour in
light mode.

This caused warning segments in stacked bar charts (e.g. Realtime on
project overview v2) to render black instead of amber, with missing
tooltip swatches. The colour appeared to "fix itself" on hover because
the dimmed state used `--warning-500`, which is still defined.

## What is the new behaviour?

Studio consumers that referenced the removed token now point at tokens
that still resolve in light mode. Chart warnings use new app-level
`--chart-warning` / `--chart-warning-muted` variables (stepped scale,
theme-aware) rather than the removed `--warning-default`.

We only update **Studio app consumers** that were still calling the old
token:

- `LogsBarChart` → `--chart-warning` tokens
- `apps/studio/styles/globals.css` → defines those chart tokens + fixes
`--sidebar-primary-foreground`
- A handful of chart/tooltip call sites in Studio
(`EdgeFunctionOverview`, `UnifiedLogs`, etc.)
- Table editor dirty cell text → `--warning-600` (still on the stepped
scale)

## To test

Use a hosted project that already has warnings on project home (e.g.
Realtime with a non-zero warnings count). Switch Studio to **light
mode**.

1. Open **Project home** (`newHomepageUsageDeltas` flag enabled).
2. Find a service card with warnings in **Project usage**.
3. Confirm warning bar segments are amber/orange (not black), tooltip
swatches show amber, and hover does not flip them black.
4. Quick dark mode sanity check. Should look unchanged.

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
## Summary by CodeRabbit

* **Style**
* Standardized warning-series and highlight colors across charts, logs,
countdown timers, and interface indicators using the shared theme tokens
(`--chart-warning` / `--chart-warning-muted`).
* Refreshed warning-related theme wiring for both light and dark modes,
including sidebar foreground color.
* **Bug Fixes**
* Updated “dirty” table cell text color to align with the revised
warning palette.
